@@DavidAGIII I get why you'd say that, but heavily disagree. To me it makes a lot of sense. Darth Vader starts out simply fighting the "apprentice of Anakin Skywalker". But soon as Ahsoka learns the truth and is able to see past his mask and facade, she suddenly begins to look at Vader very differently. And for just this moment Vader is exposed with the truth that he is Anakin. Anakins personality doesn't change to "Darth Vader" because of the Suit or the Mask. We even see that much in Revenge of the Sith. Instead his Mask just helps him hide from himself and what he once cared about.

@Nagger Anakin was supposed to be completely dead at this point, it wasn't until Luke that conflict reemerged. Ahsoka bringing that part of himself back to the surface even for a split second devalues the impact of that, he isn't as iredeemable as he should have been at this stage anymore.

@Nagger Anakin was supposed to have died with Padme, she also brought him back with Luke. Ahsoka being Anakins apprentice was quite a big blunder in my view, it really messes up his character throughout the clone wars and with this it has now messed with Vader. She should have either been Plo's padawan or died before Anakins turn, it's extremely messy retroactively changing the world state as much as that character has.

I think that duel of the fates theory makes anakin’s story even better because when qui gon dies he goes to the next closest father figure which is Palpatine. And right at the end in return of the jedi when anakin saved luke from the emperor it’s him being the father he never had.

When I first started watching rebels it was to fill that void left by the clone wars, at first I just thought oh this is just a more kid friendly animated star wars show. But as the show progressed and they get more involved in jedi and rebellion stuff I really started to enjoy and respect the show. It's definitely worth the watch and contribues to the universe as a whole.

@@dorianjareth9198 my opinion, character development for Rebels. It actually has characters, Anakin is who he is in 2 and is who he is in 3. They definitely improved it but you can't do much radically different. Here we see a lot of amazing character moments and growth. Versus Clone Wars which did delivered the spectacle and grew the world. We see in that show, a Godzilla episode. We see new ways to engage with the force. We see brutal battles and truly heroic moments. Like it just shows stuff other star wars movies and shows can't.

I largely agree. It's a decent-but-not-great show that has truly great moments (including this episode!). There's a lot of missed opportunities there-I agree with Mr. Sunday that the decision not explore Ezra's flirtation with the dark side more was a huge missed opportunity. (There is an episode where it's done ... and the opening was really intriguing! ... but then it's kinda squandered. The only "clearly he's gone too far" moment the episode has is .... him pursuing a risky mission that ends up not going well? .... as other Star Wars characters do all the time?)

Ahsoka has become my favorite Star Wars character, a spot formerly held by Jedi-Grandmaster Luke (which is not canon anymore) and Obi-Wan. She's what Jedi should be. I really hope Mandalorian does her Justice.

I was actually really happy they didn't go down the 'Maul becomes Ezra's master' path. I'm kinda sick of that. Not every Jedi is permanently on the verge of the dark side.

Obi-Wan was never at risk or shown to be at risk of embracing the dark side. Neither was Qui-Gon, Ahsoka, Plo-Koon, Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura, Yoda, or Mace Windu (somewhat ironically). It's only protagonists that seem to have that issue, and it makes sense since they are always young Jedi that are either extremely emotional, have little guidance, or both.

Twilight of the Apprentice: - Remove helicopter lightsabers (because its stupid af) - Remove 3rd inquisitor - thats lame when you introduce the character and kill them off few minutes later - nothing yould change if he wasn't there. - Explain Maul - holy shit he just falls mid episode and vanishes. And then appears in inquisitor star fighter in last 30s to tease people. Can someone expain how we got there that he fell off and never appeared again. - And can someone explain why exactly was this building collapsing at the end? I guess the holocron that was INSIDE that temple/weapon was NEVER used few levels higher and never removed right? Because it would collapse long time ago then. How convinient no? And there you go, you have an episode that makes logic sense. :D Or if you want to go kids show direction just don't try to fool people with nostalgia and actually some good scenes to watch this. Why would you have Vader vs Ahsoka if you make jokes around entire episode and introduce one of the most dumb things just for ?laughs?.

I love how you actually have what sound like very legitimate and specific criticisms about the content you enjoy (or typically enjoy), and don't hesitate to share them 👌. It seems like these days it's all rabid fanbois who misunderstand that criticizing part of a given content and apprreciating other parts of it aren't mutually exclusive. Everyone seems to think if you utter a single criticism about something that you hate all of it (or even hate the parts you're criticizing 100% -they may be okay but just subpar). But the people who REALLY love a given content? They are always striving to contribute ALL their thoughts, positive AND negative, to make that content the best it can be. That final confrontation between maul and obi wan still gives me chills. Like many shows, (eg legend of khora) you can dislike parts of it or even most of it but still also love and appreciate other parts

I really enjoyed this series. Sure it had a good chunk of filler episodes. But so did Clone Wars plus I found the character to be good enough to make those filler episodes enjoyable. And it's best moments to me rival a lot of things in Clone Wars. Like this episode. Thrawn being added to the official cannon. I love the episode Zero Hour where he attacks the Rebels on Bendu planet. Twin Suns is one you guys should go back to if you do another COB on Rebels. And the episode Jedi Knight is the most emotional I got watching a Star Wars series or film. But you would have had to have had seen the entire series for that episode to matter to you.

Counter point: Dave Filoni and John Favreau are Star Wars fans who have made Star Wars genuinely better, and nobody wanted what they put in Rise of Shitwalker. George and Dave seemed to have a better read on what Star Wars should be and connect better with fans' actual interests than Rian Johnson, Jj Abrams, or Kathleen Kennedy ever have. Bad writing made Star Wars worse. But yeah, the episodes with Maul, Ahsoka, and Kanan as the focuses were some of the only really good ones in this show for me. Ezra always seemed like a whiny baby who was brought along but didn't belong. It's odd because Ahsoka was a teenager too in the Clone Wars, but after her character development, she always seemed older, mature, capable, and interesting enough to justify being there. Rebels was held back by being more for little kids.
