You summarized the reason I love Star Wars ! Great job !

Great stuff Jake! Star Wars has had a big impact on a lot of kids growing up, old and new generation. Even if you're not a big fan I think everyone can appreciate it in some way - keep this up!

I have that book plus the New Hope and Empire ones as well. I think Jedi is my favorite one of the series. I never thought of making the ships as creatures, brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing.

I haven't watched any star wars movies yet but hoping to get into this universe starting with JJ's one.
@TheManateeParty9 жыл бұрын
Kesh ART You might want to go ahead and watch the original trilogy, since Abrams' film is a direct sequel to those. I would wager that they'd make it a way more enjoyable experience.

Who knows? Marvel could tap you on the shoulder for a Star Wars comic! You've been killing it on Rocket Raccoon, they may say "hmm maybe he could do a Star Wars comic too, he's got the passion for it"!

I became a Star Wars fan at six, too! And I remember the gaffe when Han got frozen: he's cuffed when they lower him into the pit, and when they pluck him out in cube-form his hands are up near his face. LOL. Mostly I played with action figures, and dressed up as Leia on Halloween. Ah, memories....

I totally thought the same thing about the death star. It's amazing to revisit those movies with an adult sensibility. I can still appreciate the mindset I had as a child. In all honesty I enjoy both equally. Thanks for sharing! -CS

I was 5 when I saw Return of the Jedi :) I had seen the 1st two on TV because they showed them fairly often. That was such a formative thing for those of us who were kids back then :)

The ship monsters are brilliant. I'll file this under the "I wish I thought of that" file. I have that same art of ROTJ book and it looks to be in about the same shape as your copy. It's seen a lot of use over the years.

I love this series of drawings! I think you should continue drawing these Star-Things, and making a video of them when you can. I hope we see more of these "things" in the future.

HA! I have the exact same book, and all my pages fell out the exact same way! It was one of my first art books as well. I'm a huge Star Wars fan as well, in fact I work at a collectable store specific to SW and we have a "museum" that is a private collection on Star Wars toys, costumes, etc. I get to talk Star Wars all day as a job, lol. Thanks again for sharing your work. :D

It's great listening to you talking -- and geeking -- about Star Wars. I've paused at the 5 min mark now just to say that I'm surprised at how many of the things you said you did as a child, I did too. :) Watched about the same stuff, played with some sort of Legos, acted out the scene from the original SW where Luke trains with the remote and the helmet. I used a wooden rod as a lightsaber and a cardboard box modified to look more like a helmet with the "blast shield" down. Still saddens me a bit that, at the time that ROTJ came out I was 8, and could not see it in the theaters where I live. Only 9+ y.o. kids were allowed. But I've watched it on TV as much as I could when it became available. Oh! And I had (and still have remains of) a ROTJ sticker album! Did you watch The Muppet Show too? It seems that you have some of that in your monsters!
@jakeparker449 жыл бұрын
allluckyseven I loved the Muppets, but I actually didn't watch the show that much. Instead I had a subscription to Muppets Magazine. It was the greatest. I tore through that thing every month.

I'm not even in the middle of the video and i must say it's awesome!! in this video you just talked about the Tv shows you where watching as a kid and it occurred to me that maybe you should do a video like this one but drawing some of your favorite childhood heroes like Zorro, the lone ranger, Etc... How about that? :) Greetings from Colombia!!

Nice vid. Tho being a lot older than you - I was 23 when I saw Jedi- it bought be back to when I was little and played with the rockets and such when the Apollo missions were ongoing. All these years later I'm still a big SW geek. Thanks.

Jake, always leave the door open for a sequel. Your two protagonists decide they make a pretty good team, blow all their money on a ship, and become freebooting heroes for hire. Boba Fett otoh is predictably angry about not collecting all that loot, and is determined to get it from the two fugitives...one way or another.
@billbo1419 жыл бұрын
Why would the Gamorian not just turn in the bounty and keep all the money?

I feel like shit would go south near the end of a story like that but try would pull through in the end, or that when he turned the guy in jabba would just kill him and then he'd have internal issues to resolve about leading this man to his death like that
