Remember that Ki adi mundi's men (including commander Jet) had the same helmets for the second battle of geonosis. As much as i'd love invisible clone troopers, i'm pretty sure the helmets just amplified hearing (although i can't remember where I heard that)

I think you are right, I remember commander jet using them to hear geonocian soldiers's wing flap and detect an ambush. They might have some sonar like application or they could just be used to communicate on normally unused and thus undetectable frequencies.

The Helmets (and Armor) Jets men were using were equipped with experimental Communications and Cooling Systems. Not sure if the Crew of the Stealth Ship needed the cooling, though. Maybe its just lighter? We definitly know that, even though it didn't look that different, the Phase II Armor was much lighter and comfortable to wear. So I think this was just a in-between-step similar to the experimental ARC-Armor seen in Season 3 of TCW.

Those are sound amplification devices that amplify their sense of sound and they are spec ops troopers which have numerous other sense amplification devices and they are trained to those devices.

Regarding clone trooper helmet earmuff things: Consider that the field allowing light to pass would also affect their own eyes inside the field. So perhaps those things on their helmets allow their own senses to work as normal inside the field, even working with some modified ships displays.

I don't think those clones can turn invisible. I think those panels on the sides of their helmets actually serve a different function. On top of that, I remember watching the behind the scenes commentary for this episode, and the reason for the ship being the size it is, is because of technological advancements. Before this time, cloaking tech only worked on larger ships - like cruisers. But this also brings me to personal cloaking devices. Rukh for example had one. But I've always just assumed that it was a gift from Thrawn, and that it's Chiss tech - which Yhrawn also shared with the Empire, leading to the creation of shadowtroopers. May just be an assumption on my part, but I like that idea

Noone Special I was about to say that too. If anything I think they're powerful antenna systems for communication. On Geonosis a enemy planet where you have little infrastructure you'd want to keep in contact with your command ship so a longer distance radio would be useful. The stealth ship allows all electromagnetic signals to pass through the ship so I'd imagine the clones wearing those helmets are using them to pickup signals easier.

To me a better way to have done it was to make the ship go invisible and once found scramble the magnetic signature or mask it then use holographic technology to look like a separatist shuttle. Furthermore have a computer that can scan the face of a subject during live feeds so it can project a selected mask like grievous or a neimodian trade ambassador. It would also have a voice changer working with it. To me this stealth ship was cool but it needed to be used more and updated so we learn about different forms about Clone Wars espionage

I'm not sure about the helmet, since you can see Commander Jet ,in season 2 ep 5 during the second battle of geonosis, wear a very similar helmet. I don't know if I just didn't do my research well enough but I don't think Jet is a stealth ops trooper d: But he is a special ops isn't he, so it most probably is that a lot or all, that don't need a more specific helmet, of special ops have that same helmet design. I think Rukh's "cloaking device" isn't so much a cloaking device as it is a form of adaptive camouflage, as the rangefinder in Sabine Wren's helmet was able to detect Rukh while the "cloak" was active.

Pretty sure the helmets are just to evoke the imagery of submarine sailors' headsets in old cold war era sub hunt films. Which in reality exist to allow communication onboard subs without creating as much noise that could be detected by enemy listening devices. Though I like the idea that they might be for a similar purpose, but for electromagnetic waves instead of sound waves.

A submarine in space would mean the ship would have to occupy a different space within the same space however that might be. Say hyperspace, phased space, another dimension, TIME etc but cannot occupy the same physical space. Its a good concept that should be used more in sci fi.

A submarine can crash into a ship as operates almost in the same space like a ship but I get what you mean the usual ranges of depths a sub works at wouldn't allow them to normally crash into a ship (as there are a few cases of subs being destroyed by ramming). Also, it is a bit weird that the stealth systems seem to allow some of the EM spectrum to pass through it, but can't hide its magnetic signature, as the development team of the ship should have accounted for the possibility of magnetic detection as a standard sensor package on a capital ship should include devices to allow it to scan most of the EM spectrum, unless most solar systems are usually filled with so much natural/manmade space trash that jams most of the EM spectrum so captains just leave it on a narrow spectrum of scanning by default (but also plot). For the clones, Ki-Adi's forces used the same design, so that either means the 'buns' are either improved earplugs or are improved short-range communication transmitters. And by 'improved' I mean they either have better encryption and decryption of republic communication channels or has boosted power to allow them to have an easier time to punching through CIS jamming arrays or environmental jamming.

WAIT I think I figured out how subs would work, tho they would not be small things but giant: They would require two hyper drives connected to the engines and to the ship. Drive A has the coordinates between point 1 and point 2, with homing/attack missiles to attack their target. Once their missiles launch, they activate THEIR SECOND HYPERDRIVE and jump back, rinse and repeat with different drop points in order to keep them on their toes

Stealth in space is possible depending what you define as stealth! Currently stealth doesn’t make an aircraft invisible to radar, it just makes it harder to spot! Stealth in space could be achieved through masking the heat signature of the ships thrusters just like what’s done on the F-117 or B-2. How we making a ship fully invisible is near impossible!

Your argument falls on that spacecraft is like are craft. However, spacecraft is basically a mix of both navy and air forces. Large naval ships like Star Destroyers are obviously like battle ships, and SSDs are often stated as Dreadnaughts so obvious there. Spacecraft are literally called a navy. The fact that it is based of a sub gives clear red signs that this is a sub. In fact the only difference between this and a sub would be it’s in space, it’s uses cloaks to hide instead of being under water (both being weak debate arguments as they are in space) and that it can be used for cargo transport. And you calling it more like a stealth plane makes as much sense as calling cloaked star fighters (aka actually like stealth planes) the star wars equivalent of a sub.

It is just like every other ship in every other way, except it is undetectable by scanning devices (plus visual in the case of the of the Star Wars stealth ship). The Sea Shadow is not a sub. The Stealth Ship is not a sub. A sub-like ship does not exist yet in Star Wars, the best thing I can think of would be a hyperspace dwelling ship. If the Sea Shadow went invisible like the stealth ship you still wouldn't call it a sub. Correction: it Used to be impossible. The conceptual "Quantum Stealth" Technology, which is being developed with US Military Assistance, uses a Very Similar Concept. Halo's Prowlers use a more advanced version of this (Quantum Stealth), and UNSC Shield technology was improved by this.

One of the simplest methods of "stealth" in space would be pretty cheap and somewhat effective. Paint the ship in radar absorbent materiel, black of course. And set lights all around the structure to imitate the stars. Boom, now less easy to see and detect. Just remember, nothing is perfect.

During as far in the world war one and two surface ships such as a destroyer or merchant ship could collide into submarines as a counter to enemy submarines. A airplane does not need to collide into a sub instead can just drop depth charges It maybe possible to send large objects into hyperspace for a theory hyperspace sub or any vessel to collide into.

The LAAT isn’t 28m long. I know wookiepedia says that, but it’s not based on any visual evidence. Its old stated lenght of 17m was much more realistic.

I just watched the Space warfare Isaac Arthur video you suggested for disproving stealth as a viable option. I'm going to disagree with him. He mentions that engines can't be disguised and that rockets are easily visible systems. But if you just drift in at ballistic speeds and use gravity assist and simple thrusters like air thrusters to make minor adjustments then that is not an issue. He mentions that the ballistic drift mention wouldn't work because the ship would slam into trillions of hydrogen atoms and create visible heat but even with all our sensors and various telescopes we are constantly finding new large bodies like asteroids flying around our solar system. They would obviously slam into hydrogen atoms too so it definitely isn't that easy to detect objects moving in space that way. Plus with the HUGE number of objects in a solar system giving off this energy, you would just be one drop in an ocean of drops. Then he said any stealth ship would give away its position by passing between the observers and visible light in space such as stars. However a light bending technology, of which we are already testing , would prevent that. He also mentioned that heat generated by crew inside but would be visible but there is already tech n use to address thermal signatures.

A sub can still crash into a ship. If the sub havent gone far enough down in the water where it might hit the "tower" of the sub onto a ship. I think accident like that had happened in the world, or where a destroyer (Or smaller ship) trying to ram an enermy sub.

Nothing can go invisible to the eye unless it's behind another object for example. That means the B2 or the stealth ships can NEVER go invisible, it will always be visible at some angle. The fantasy of a ship going completely transparant will be foolish as the people in it are unable to do the same. Even with personal suits it will be impossible as they both will be on different wave lengths making it rather foolish to even try in the first place. It will be the same as a huge radar ping to those that pay attention.
