See, THIS explosion 💥 of the Death Star is so much more satisfying than that Special Edition one.

Osi- Thanks! I watched my digest of Star Wars so much, I can memorize every little cut! Its great to see this scope version of the digest. It actually appears less grainy than the full screen version I have. Nice colors too.

Dang, I miss my hand viewer ... I remember as a kid I'd play it frame by frame, particularly with the TIE fighter chase from the Death Star.

I did not know the final battle sequence came in any home movies release from the Super 8 era. The version I had ended with the tie fighter attack sequence after they left the death star

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT for those us under the age of 70?!! I know about the, Ken Films, Super 8 version, but what you speaking of?

What do you mean by, "Scope Digest"?! Why is this only 5:23 long and not the full 20 minute (or what ever it is) version? What is the point of this?

How many of these widescreen sets were available in Super 8 I have the 16 minute one with Han and Chewbacca on the cover .?
@TheRegularjoe13653 жыл бұрын
There was the initial 200 foot Ken films one with Han and Chewie on the cover, later supplemented by the 400 footer with H&C on the cover. However, the scene in Ben's house on the 200 foot reel has more content for that scene than the 400' reel does. A year of so later there was another 400' reel released with the cover being a cropped version of one of the movie posters. It complements the reel you have but you can't watch them back to back as the 2nd reel basically is a mish mash of scenes that complete the one you have. The scope films are from Germany (I thnk) and Derann out of the UK. For TESB there was a 200 footer, usual Ken films options and then one odd one that came with a cassette tape that you could play to have sound if you didn't have the money for a sound projector. There was an expanded 400' version of that one as well and then, again, about a year later, there was a second 400' reel. In this case Ken films got it right that you could watch the two reels back to back without having to splice film to have the movie run in order. There were also some Kenner (toys) handcranked cartridges that had super 8 silent color film that wasn't i the Ken films versions. If you tapped the corners of these with a hammer you could pop them open and take the film out and mount it on a reel and watch it using a projector. A lot of the box covers tor the vatious Super 8 cutdowns may be seen here: www.swonvideo.com/8mm/8mmforside.htm
