@@davegallo8166 At least George would have written something clever like, "I don't like palatines. They somehow return, they never die, and they get clones everywhere." It is well known that Disney took George's plans and wanted to be faithful to them and wanted him involved with every aspect of films starting right after he signed that contract to sell Star Wars. It was almost like the directors had no input in to the sequels. It was nice to see Wookies and Vulcans all working together for the betterment of the Federation.

I think Plagueis is FAR too careful to have apprentices swinging around red lightsabers at this stage of his secret galactic takeover, especially of whom are trying to train their own apprentices. It's more likely Qimir is a former Jedi, totally unaware of Plagueis, who fell to the dark side and took up Sith practices because he was warned against them by the Jedi. I think Plagueis is just following close behind to study the dyad, because the effects of the vergence, whatever the witches did to create Mae and Osha, are an example of the type of power he is trying to attain.

This show surprisingly won me over in the end, and I`m glad it did! Episode 5 was the turning point. Ep. 6 & 7 were... meh, because they had to set up explanations for the final episode. But then Ep. 8 managed to (just barely) pull me over to the side of wanting to watch a Season 2 simply out of pure curiosity of what`s going to happen with Qimir/Venestra (I really want to see that showdown!), Osha & Mei, and how much our little green friend actually knew before the Phantom Menace. The writers left all of the right questions unanswered this time. The fight scenes in this one were amazing and very well-choreographed and I love the overall concept and direction that they are going with the story. The execution was just "off" for the first few episodes and it did look a little too indie film/cosplayer fanfic considering the budget in later places. But it was just the 1st season, so I think that if they can just figure out how to hammer out the rough edges, work on ironing out some of the logic points while removing some of the stuff that is "too plot-convenient," and polish things up a bit, Season 2 of this will be a banger! 💪😊🔥 The Acolyte, Ahsoka, and Andor are currently on my list to watch now! Nice Dath Plagueis cameo breakdown. Yep, that dude`s definitely got some sinister soup stewing in Quimir`s kitchen... 🤣

Colton! Thanks for all that insight. One other detail I noted. You should become aware of something if you aren't already. There's a subtle but important distinction between loving and only caring about someone. Palps said, "he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying, but not "he could even keep the ones he loved from dying." Edit: I don't know about Plagueis's degree of love or caring. I still need to read the book. But I know Anakin cared about Padme to some degree, which does seem considerable in some critical ways. However, it can be argued he didn't love her, not really, especially not if he could ever reject her the way he did, which clearly led to the end of her life. I always found it interesting to hear her express her love, using that word, to Anakin first in their relationship. Not only that, but she said "deeply." Then he didn't even say he loved her, too, at least not right away as he could have before they entered that wild gladiator ring. He sounded surprised at what she said, not in tune with her and her feelings. That's not true and honest love. 2nd edit: I find it interesting that the word vernal can mean springlike, suggesting vernal greenery, along with the name Vernestra (who's very green, of course, and even in a springlike shade of it) and the word vergence, which I first heard in any Star Wars show exclaimed with some amount of surprise from Yoda (who's also very green, of course, and in a springlike shade of green as well). Brendok has vernality, too, in many scenes. Coincidence of first-syllable sounds and a shade of green, I think not. Green, by the way, is also the color of life and rebirth, perfectly fitting for this show. Star Wars shows are almost overly detailed, but I like every last detail, especially when connected, some sooner, some later. Haters will never know, though. Their loss, our gain. Patience is a virtue. :)

I especially vibe with your whole suggestion that Rey and Ben are descendents who the Force choose as the Dyad that repairs the imbalance damage done by Plagueis and Sidious - in fact, that there's a lot of darkness in Rey (she's tempted by it) and so much light in Ben (he's tortured by his pull towards it) means they're such a great Dyad, balancing out each other's strengths and weaknesses, sharing the load of Light vs Dark. He did not create it. He gave the information on how to create it to the leader of the Sith at the time. It was a trick so he could bring about the rule of two. I think Kaan was his name it’s been awhile since I have read the books.

The “somehow, Palpatine returned…” and revelation that Rey was a Palpatine herself transformed the Skywalker Saga into the Palpatine Saga. Starts with Palpatine, ends with Palpatine. And now all roads, like Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and Acolyte, must lead to cloning in Episode 9. Feels like a paradox in the timeline that we can’t escape.

I would be shocked if Quimir isnt Darth Plageous's apprentice. Quimir called himself a Sith. Where would he have gotten that idea?
@kylecarter15996 ай бұрын
No he didn't. He said a Jedi would call him a Sith. And he would have gotten that word from his time as Vernestra's padawan.

@kylecarter1599 true, Darth Teeth never called HIMSELF a Sith he said other would call him that. Good catch!
@HabaneroTi6 ай бұрын
There's not a chance that he developed his Jedi-fighting skills without getting trained by a Sith, which in this show is almost certainly Plageuis--unless Vernestra is herself a secret Sith who trained under Plageuis and then trained Qimir. So, he's definitely a Sith apprentice, or at least was, in case he went rogue. Perhaps that's what the Knights of Ren was, a group of powerful dark side non-Sith rogues who recruited ex-Jedi and Sith to take on both, to sort of restore the pre-Bane Sith order.
@tooslow40656 ай бұрын

Hmmm, given the time frame of the series, Plagueis and Tenebrous are both alive. Perhaps Plagueis discovered Qimer (Venamis) was the second acolyte of Tenebrous and was scoping out the competition. 🧐🤔 In the grand scheme, this is all non-canon so Venamis being a Bith doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be true. Seeing as much isn’t known about Venamis, it would be simple enough to have him be Qimer instead. The fight for supremacy between Plagueis and Qimer would be incredibly compelling to watch. It would also be interesting if Tenebrous brought Qimer to the witches Ascension ceremony where we all saw two hooded figures who melted away in the confrontation with the Jedi. It would give Qimer some vital knowledge that Plagueis wants but never had when it comes to creating the Force Dyad. It sets up the rivalry between Plagueis and Qimer, becomes the motive for killing Tenebrous (Plagueis’ jealousy over being one of two apprentices), and explains the obsession P had with creating a Dyad and achieving immortality. Off I go with my nerd rabbit hole to make this idea work. 😂😂😂

7:48 what if Palpatine is referring to himself? What if Plagueis manipulated the midichlorians to create his apprentice Palpatine? This would explain why the force then created Anakin as a response to Sidious. Anakin would bring balance back to the force by killing Sidious and then himself dying. It would also be ironic that Plagueis essentially gave birth to the one who would kill him in his sleep.

Man…there you have it, this was a refreshing explanation! I started to think everyone reviewing incredibly negative about the show completely missed this whole thing. I thought the whole idea about this show was really well done in tying everything together about the goings on before the skywalker era, and showing the audience a fresh perspective of the Jedi and really backs up Anikan in how he felt about the Jedi and why he succumbed to the dark side (“from my point of view the Jedi are evil”).
