It's ok to like this, but saying that any critic of this show or other disney content is spreading hate and is toxic, is the kind of toxic behaviour that needs to stop. People have the right to criticize. Also, the ones who criticize disney wars content are doing so by using facts, logic, and do not attack and blame people being racist and all sorts of bad things, because they can't defend their point with any reasonable explanation. Critics don't hate diverse characters. They are not racist. They are not toxic. What they hate is forcing political and social agendas down their throat. What they hate is being slammed as bigots for rejecting bad work from pretentious, unskilled activists. What they want is a good Star Wars story with good characters, and they rightfully criticize the content if it is not, but instead it is an agenda driven nonsense, with irrational character behaviors, while the story contradictis great many things in the established universe.

As I stated in my video it is okay to dislike The Acolyte. Providing facts, reason, and logic for constructive criticism and debating Star Wars is welcomed and I encourage it. However, what is not welcomed and not encouraged is belittling, insulting, bullying, and hating one another by calling others who are enjoying The Acolyte shills, bigots, racist, fake fans, etc., and vice versa. Being a critic of the show or other Disney content does not give one the right to offend or hurt others.

First of all, what's the "political agenda?". You talk about giving logical reasons for something, yet you and the droves of other snowflakes never explain what this agenda is. Secondly, why should anyone have to defend liking something? Can you imagine if every time someone casually said they like something, be it chocolate ice cream, pizza, whatever, there was always some asshole there to tell you to defend it? On the other hand, no one cares that you don't like this show. Your problem is that you need to explain why you don't like it by going on some long diatribe about writing, directing, pacing, agenda, diversity, blah blah blah about something that's made for FAMILY entertainment, for crying out loud. Get over yourself and worry about real shit. You give Disney way too much credit if you think they're pushing some phantom agenda because you're so damn triggered and offended by any creator expressing themself. Neither you, nor these other so-called Star Wars "fans" own the franchise, so stop gatekeeping. Disney, on the other hand, literally owns Star Wars. If you hate it so much, don't watch it. Disengage. You'll be doing us all a big favor.

I haven't seen the show as I was waiting for reviews and or waiting for the full show to drop. Disney + has not exactly been batting 1000 ... whatever that sports ball expression means. However it seems to have gotten to a level of insanity in defense of the show and attacking the show for some. The people that own Wookiepedia scrambled to change an establish birthday of a Jedi who was born 40 years after this show on their site to defend bad writing. They couldn't do anything to fix the contradiction in Phantom Menace though of his saying the sith haven't been seen for a millennia. BUT allegedly the Wookiepedia people got a death threat from some random person. They in turn attacked the Star Wars Theory guy saying he was behind the death threats. Any of his videos he always tells people to be respectful of opinions of others. He now has to consider filing a defamation lawsuit. It's completely nuts. It is just a badly made show. It's not worth death threats and lawsuits. I only seen it through clips on comedy bits and reaction videos. The actions is VERY bad from what I seen so far except for the Squid Games guy and Trinity. It seems everyone likes the Squid Games guy character. I would watch a series about him from what little I seen. But every single movie pundent and reviewer I Seen so far ... hate it or has a lot of problems with the show. And not talking about the professional hater channels. I am so glad I held off bothering with it.

Glad you do enjoy it, not sure how you can enjoy it, but thank god at least someone does. The dialogue and writing are clunky and the overall story is just decent, but has tons of plot holes. For the $$ it cost the show doesn’t look that impressive at times. Some of the fight choreography is good at least. Then it breaks different parts of solidified lore. Don’t care about the age thing with Ki Adi Mundi, but care about him not knowing about the sith at all. I care about the Jedi made out to be complete idiots with the tracker and their skills. And care about the whole chosen one narrative being undermined. I know some can say it doesn’t but it truly is, sure they can totally make up for this lore clashing by doing a big twist in the story (or what we think the story is so far), but from what I have seen I don’t think the creators have it in them. I give the show a 2.3-3.5 out of 10 so far. Could go up to maybe a 5-6 with big twists that aren’t expected. Could go down if it continues as is.
@talisredstar15436 ай бұрын
You pretty much laid out every reason people dislike this show. I not one of the ragers that hates on actors. Even the best actor in the world can only do so much with a bad script. So I very rarely go after an actor. But the writing is bad, they are retconning things, and there is an agenda being pushed. It was said to the world in interviews before this show ever started production. That aside the the writing is bad, they don't follow the rules of the Star Wars universe. Biggest example: Mae is headed off to kill Kennacca. They know she is headed there as she's killed 2 Jedi already. And yet, this "sub committee" of Jedi are afraid the Jedi Council would have to report all of this to the Senate if they went to them. When there is already precedent that the Jedi Council does not tell the Senate everything. Ok so all the Jedi and Osha head back to Coruscant, only to go after Mae anyways. And yet they end up on Kenacca's planet like 5 minutes after Mae arrives? I'm sorry but is not how Hyperspace works. When Obi-Wan discovered that Jango was the bounty hunter they were looking for, he reported it to the council, and they told him to bring him in. Not, come back and lets discuss this. It was get on this, and bring him to us. Then there is Mae's sudden face turn, like suddenly she's no longer blood thirsty. There was no struggle, we didn't see here go back and forth about it in her mind. There is nothing in this episode that earns the face change. I've got no problem with another coven in Star Wars, but the Dathomirian Nightsisters were written so much better. The chanting scene was corny AF, but I let that slide, but the music choice for that scene was absolutely atrocious. Then you expect me to see these witches as strong, when chemical fire is all that is needed to take them out? lmao. Oh how in the hell does a chemical lamp burn a STONE fortress down? There is nothing in Star Wars lore that says that a Cerean like Ki-Adi-Mundi can live for hundreds of years, and now all of a sudden he can? That is a retcon put there just to piss people off. Master Sol is about the only character so far I even begin to enjoy, and i've never seen this guy before. I know who Dafne Keen is and like her, but her character well this last episode was the first time I started to like her character. Mae/Osha. I got nothing against the Actress, as she pulls off the darkness of Mae, and the timidness of Osha, but some of this dialogue makes George Lucas's dialogue look amazing. And if you a true fan of Georges work you know he is a visual story teller, not known for his dialogue.
@Mike_C-796 ай бұрын
You said a bunch of things here. They aren't retconning anything. Ki-Adi-Mundi's age was not cannon. And obviously there is a reason that he's in this. Chances are, he never finds out that there are Sith out there. And of course a chemical fire wouldn't kill all of those witches and of course a broken oil lamp would burn down the whole temple. You're taking things at face value instead of thinking. Can't help you there. And did you see The Force Awakens or Rise of Skywalker? Please don't talk about how hyperspace works unless you're criticizing almost all of Star Wars since the original trilogy. Or maybe you have been criticizing almost all of Star Wars...other than Andor.
@talisredstar15436 ай бұрын
@@Mike_C-79 There were canon things before Disney that established Cerean's life spans. If they establish the "Master" as a Sith. That IS a retcon. There is nothing you point to that would say other wise. How? I know you have eyes, how does a lil chemical lamp burn down a Fortress of STONE. How are we suppose to believe these Witches have any strength if a fire kills them all? Yes, I am taking things at face value, because they gave nothing to read between the lines. Don't get started on Pieces of Sh*t that is the Sequel trilogy. Lightskipping? was proven impossible by Han Solo's words in the very first Star Wars Movie. The Holdo maneuver? Yet again disproven by what Han said, and opens up the question of if it was possible, why wouldn't you just strap a hyperdrive to an asteroid and shoot those things off at planets and forces. Would of been alot cheaper than building a massive fleet, and building a huge army. My take on Andor. It is a great story. Wonderfully directed, shot, written and acted show. But it is also so almost generic, with little to tie it to Star Wars Universe as whole that if you removed/change names of things and not even that much. It could of been released as its own stand alone Sci-fi show and would of been great even then.

Have anybody seen the images of the Buddhist Monks burning themselves alive in protest to the Chinese Government? Rage Against the Machine used an image of them on an album cover.... Anyway.... the type of person to be able to do such a ghastly thing without a single flinch or showing pain and regret... takes a VERY enlightened person who has perfected mind over matter. That is what the Jedi are supposed to be.... Honestly.. I do not see this type of betrayal of the Jedi in Disney. Making them overly relatable and "human" takes away from the rarity of what the Jedi are. They are not normal people.... I just don't think Disney takes the idea seriously. I am not opposed to whatever and whoever is in the series.... but I just don't think Disney gets the theme and ideas behind the story Lucas wrote. The Disney shows are too much like cartoons. Mocking the realism established by the original films. Back in the day... when Star Wars was new... the ONLY canon there was was what was in the movies. All the cartoons, books and TV specials were just taking the characters into alternative universes. We loved them. I watched Droids ever Saturday morning... I watched the infamous Christmas Special because it was a peak at the characters at home. (variety shows on TV were very popular in the 70s). BUT.... the only official stories were the films. Disney has over done the canon quest to be as detailed as Marvel. Marvel is so much older and so much more intertwined storylines with the executives of Marvel being in control for decades and decades from the start. That is what bothers me about Disney Star Wars. They are in a race to make it all 'canon' and overzealously not thinking about what canon they are breaking in the films. That is my opinion. I am all for Disney making all the Star Wars they want... but don't forget what Star Wars was about.... Man enslaved by Machines and a group of space hippy monks fighting the machines with nature and their minds.
