Instead of Build-A-Figure pieces (or Build-A-Droid pieces like Hasbro did briefly)..how about figure stands or Build-A-Diorama pieces? Like how Diamond Select does with their Ghostbusters line. Who wants to build Jabba's palace or a Super Star Destroyer bridge in 1/12 scale?

The only bounty hunter in my collection so far. I really hope the Has does re-releases in the future, or a ROTJ Boba Fett with the new detailing. On another note Dan, I found a ML Jim Lee Cyclops in the wild at Wal-Mart this week. Never thought I'd get him.

Sub sets - Ewoks are a must (once they're a thing), Clone commanders, the Rebels crew (they best finish that line!) and I'm now starting to think about Imperial Officers, who knew that'd be a thing?

I love the figure. I hate the fact that the right foot on mine broke immediately. It wouldn't rotate down; the hinge on mine was stuck, and I wound up snapping it. I was able to glue it back on in place, but it doesn't move, now. He's not a character that I will pose in crazy ways, though, and since he's hard to find, I can live with that.

I just mentioned yesterday that TBS needs BAFs and got little support for this on /r/actionfigures. I specifically called out the dejarik holochess monsters as BAF candidates but in general I'd really like to see that happen. I never care at all for the BAFs for Marvel Legends but as a die hard Star Wars fan I bet I'd be over the moon for them with TBS.

Legends has the advantage over Black Series by amortizing costs through significant reuse, meaning a BS BAF would have to avoid larger figures or cut down on engineering/tooling costs My vote is for display pieces. Include identical Death Star wall panels with a wave, give a single figure a unique doorway or corner piece and bam! Or collect a whole wave to construct a Falcon cockpit, or rebel command console and displays... I might actually start picking up BS figures over the Bandai kits if it meant I could have a 1/12 Echo base corridor or a Cloud City walkway

I've got the materials and skills to fabricate that kind of stuff myself so I've never been able to justify the costs. My thoughts are purely on making these kinds of things more readily accessible and affordable in a way that makes the BS feel closer in value to the price they're asking

Penny Gadget: I appreciate your opinion but I personally have zero interest in display pieces and dioramas. They take up too much space on my displays though I'm sure the action figure photography subculture would love it. I also wish that TBS would reuse a little bit more often, when it's appropriate, to help keep costs down and pass that along to me, put out more figures, or use that cost savings to release more accessories or weapon packs or something. I honestly wouldn't even care if every Imperial officer had the same body with minor tweaks where needed. Why should I care if the wrinkles are different? I think TBS has too little reuse and ML has a little too much. There is a happy medium there. Some other options for TBS BAF would be probe droids, gonk droids, or astromechs/protocol droid repaints that may not be well suited for single releases. Or perhaps do more fan polls and release the winners as BAF. People really want Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade, for instance. It probablywon't happen though. If they were going to do it it probably would've happened by now. It's not like they don't have extensive experience with it via ML.

As someone that doesn't buy complete waves I would hate the fan picks to come out as bafs since they have been collection hole fillers for many people.(good for marketing though) But seeing how they don't even include stands, I would bet money they will put a tribble in each box before anything else. They are probably at their limit for what they are willing to make off each figure. Which is $5-$6.

I loved the bounty hunters because they looked so cool, plus everything about them was a mystery. I instantly fell in love with this bug-headed C-3PO, with his little bug-headed partner. They were like some sort if insectoid Laurel and Hardy. Of death. And what was up with Dengar?! I NEEDED to know what was up with Dengar. You don't show me all these weirdos and NEVER mention them again! Seriously! (Thank goodness for the expanded universe)

I'd rather just pay $30 for a larger figure than $80 - $130 to complete the same figure and potentially get some figures I never wanted anyway, or end up resorting to parts scalpers. I got into the line to late and refuse to pay aftermarket prices for Boba, Bossk and IG-88 so 4-LOM, Danger and Zuckuss aren't needed. I'm hoping for a 40th ESB line so I can grab them all at once in a few years. As for subsets in the Black Series...Clones. All the Clones.

@ Darth Kamen While I can understand your logic on not wanting to pay Ebay prices, there’s not much logic however in intentionally passing on Zuckuss, 4-LOM & Dengar at $20 a pop. Also, Bossk is getting re-released (before 2020) and to your point (I agree in thinking there will be a 40th style vintage assortment for ESB), if/when Boba & IG-88 get re-released, you can just sell your Dengar, 4-LOM & Zuckuss for significantly more than $20 each. In the worst case scenario, there’s a zero percent chance you will lose money on them. OT figures only climb in price over time, they don’t lower.

Assuming they do actually release a 40th style vintage assortment for ESB (which is highly probable due to the overwhelming success of the 40th line they did for ANH) It could be 2 waves, 3 waves, heck it could be the whole year worth if they were smart. Also, just like last time, I would suspect they would include several, never before released figs as part of the assortment, and then probably carry them forward at some point into the current box like they did with the Tusken Raider, Jawa & Death Star Commander/Trooper. If I was Hasbro, I would do at LEAST 3 waves and they would look something like this: Wave 1 would be Hoth Han, Hoth Leia, Hoth Luke, Hoth Rebel Trooper x2 (new), Snowtrooper x2 & Bigs Darklighter (new) Wave 2 would be all 6 Bounty Hunters. Wave 3 would be Yoda, Dagobah Luke (new), Bespin Lando, Bespin Leia, Bespin Han, Lobot (new) & Ughnaughts x2 (new).

@Bash Yeah I could very easily see Hasbro doing a 6pack “Bounty Hunters Bridge” box set in vintage deco and if they did, it would definitely be an exclusive. It sure could make one hell of a SDCC exclusive lol. Regarding the current Bounty Hunters and skipping on them until they get re-released, I would argue that, that would be foolish. For one, it’s not 100% confirmed that they are all getting re-released (even though we know they will) and for second, there’s just about a zero chance that you would lose money if you bought Zuckuss, Dengar and 4-LOM now and just sold them in 2 years. On the flip side, id say that there’s a 100% chance you could sell each of those figs for well more than $20 in a couple years time. I mean it’s a win win if you think about it, virtually no down side.

@Bash Make no mistake as I am sure Hasbro will not design the waves around the rosters that I presented. This is Hasbro afterall and they still can’t wrap their head around awful case assortments. Common sense is not always common with Hasbro unfortunately. If only the guys running the Legends team were handling the case assortments for Black Series...that would be awesome.

Here's the pickle I'm in re: the Bounty Hunters subset. I missed out on IG-88, and on the secondary market he goes for roughly the price of your average functioning kidney. His absence in my collection has kinda killed my enthusiasm for picking up Mr. 4-LOM (AKA Old School Zuckuss) :/.
