Y'know, it's funny. It's one thing for Obi-Wan and the Council to pull off this kind of deception on their own fellow Jedi. It's still messed up and traumatizing, but it's for a meaningful purpose, and Jedi aren't meant to feel attachment anyway. But seeing Satine there at the funeral, crying for Obi-Wan, makes me realize that it was a pretty fucked up lie to tell a number of other non-Jedi people too. In fact it's kind of a miracle Obi wasn't in the dog house FOREVER after this one lol, I feel like Satine would be (rightfully) suuuper pissed. On the other hand though, I do think it's very sweet how she seemingly travelled all the way from Mandalore to attend. It's also kinda nice that the Jedi even invited her in the first place, cause technically she shouldn't have any ties to Obi, but they just kinda acknowledge that they were important to one another and let her attend.

I understand why Blind Wave is like "It would have been more convincing if they had used any other Jedi apart from Obi-Wan, since we know he survives," but at the same time, this arc does two things amazingly: 1) puts Obi-Wan into the most tense and unnatural environment for him as possible (AKA the Underworld of the galaxy, where honor only matters to the person with the quickest draw and no good deed goes unpunished) and 2) shows all of the best and worst parts of Anakin/Obi-Wan's relationship and why it ultimately failed. Yes, Anakin is the one ultimately responsible for his fall to the dark side, but if Obi-Wan hadn't broken Anakin's trust in this arc, Anakin may have been more willing to disclose aspects of himself (such as his marriage, visions, and Padme's pregnancy) and may have been more willing to seek advice from Obi-Wan, as opposed to Palpatine. The ultimate goal of the Clone Wars is to give Revenge of the Sith a greater emotional gut punch. And because of arcs like this, it did.

I completely disagree about Anakin ever sharing the truth about his marriage, and ultimately Padme's pregnancy with Obi-Wan.I believe at this point Anakin had been married two years to Padme, and had plenty of time to tell Obi-Wan the truth, before their relationship had really started to crack. Palpatine already knew the truth and had continuously turned Anakin against the Jedi, from the start Anakin clearly trusted Palpatine more. Was the Council wrong? Yes. But Anakin wasn't exactly innocent in other aspects as well.

This is such a great arc in Clone Wars. So much deception from the Jedi and because of them not telling Anakin any of it he gets pushed a little more to the dark side and his trust in the order falters.

Such a great arc for Anakin as a character. Even when you know it's false, watching him at the funeral really trying to let go and find closure, and then seeing him honour Obi Wan's memory by taking in his murderer rather than give in to his personal anger is quite moving. Only to have it kinda thrown in his face that this WAS a jedi conspiracy where he'd been left on the outside and toyed with, it all makes Episode 3 much more believable from his perspective. Also the end of this arc is fairly pivotal, I've definitely heard the theory that this was an early attempt by Palpatine to see if Anakin was "ready" yet, culminating with him in the chair with Dooku and Anakin dueling infront of him. Makes perfect sense that he'd engineer various crises and situations to test Anakin's readiness to be his apprentice rather than just do it the one time in Episode 3.

It’s also one thing to tell a member of your side of the war, one you are likely able to hold back, monitor and explain to-it’s another thing entirely to tell it to the Leader of the Third Faction, one known for their distinct hatred of war and having the capability of convincing the operative to simply _not_ go with his duty.

This arc is important for Anakin, even though he is not the main focus. It highlights how, even though we know Obi-wan cares deeply for Anakin, he will put the jedi order and its desires first. Even at the cost of hurting Anakin emotionally. Anakin does the opposite or at least trys to. This is the true erosion of Anakins trust in Obi-wan and shows how diffrent they are.

That moment at the funeral, when Anakin was wearing the hood...it feels to me that that was the moment Vader was born. Shapeless, formless, and nameless, maybe. But he was born nonetheless. And when he found out the truth, Vader may have hibernated, dormant, for a long time, but eventually he resurfaced and took the title of Darth.

I always hated the whole "Skywalker is a common name" I always thought it's a very unique special name and when it was pointed out to me listening to I believe Sam Witwer who said that we don't hear "My name is Luke Skywalker" until when he rescues Leia it's very possible that his life up until that point he could have gone by the name of Luke Lars because until Obi-Wan tells him different Luke always believed "Eh my father was just some navigator on a spice freighter" but once he finds out that his father was "the best star pilot in the galaxy and a cunning warrior" he feels so much more pride in his father and decides "no my name isnt Luke Lars" "My name is Luke Skywalker and I'm here to rescue you"

Wouldn’t it be some shit if Obi-Wan actually died here and we found out the show was running in its own separate continuity from the movies? I’d kinda hate that, because it would mean Clone Wars wasn’t canon, but at the same time, I’d kinda love it. Because.... _damn,_ what a twist that would be, and it would also mean we wouldn’t know for a fact what the future was gonna hold anymore. It’d free them to do whatever they wanted. And we may have actually seen in the show what was portrayed in that picture of Padmé and Anakin happy together, with Ahsoka playing with little Luke and Leia with the force and Obi-Wan as the loving uncle. (Minus the last bit, since Obi-Wan would have died.)

This is a short Star Wars story I've done. Thought you'd like to read it... It was the morning after celebrating the destruction of the Death Star and the end of the Empire. Everyone appeared happy with how yesterday had gone, apart from Luke, who was sitting on a log looking somewhat miserable and disappointed with himself. Was he grieving from the death of his father? Upset that Princess Leia was his sister and not a potential girlfriend? Or could it be something more disturbing? There was only one person who could find out what it was. Henceforth, the ghostly figure of Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared and placed a comforting arm around the young Jedi. "What's troubling you my boy?" He asked. "I've done something stupid...something I truly regret." Luke replied. "And what would that be?" Ben asked. There was a brief silence before Luke responded. "I got married." He yelled out suddenly. Old Ben stood up, gave his padawan a stern look and then after a moment of thought, voiced with authority. "You are a Jedi Knight...and as such cannot marry anyone. Did you not realize this?" "Yes master...but after drinking more than several jugs of beer...I somehow fell under the spell of this exceedingly gorgeous young lady." "And who is this femme fatale?" Obi-Wan enquired. Luke pointed over to a nearby tree where his enchantress was standing. Ben couldn't believe his eyes when he saw who it was. And found it somewhat difficult to utter these words. "It's an Ewok! You've gone and married an Ewok!" "Yes master. Though the question is...how can I put things right? For she deserves better than I." Luke blubbered whilst rubbing his painful groin. Obi-Wan pondered what to say to his irresponsible padawan. Then after a brief moment swiftly turned and said. "There's only one thing you can do to rectify this disaster of a marriage." "And what would that be master?" Luke enquired with excitement. Putting on a positive smile and gentle hands on the young fool's shoulders, old Ben delivered some words of wisdom that would bring balance to Luke's future as the last Jedi. "Use divorce Luke."

The Jedi are so cruel. At least the Council is. They forbid attachments but know Anakin has many and use that and him, essentially to sell this lie and cover story. I think this is going to another step that just cements Anakin's descent over to the dark side. It never fully added up to me until I watched this show. The Jedi are cold... I honestly think these videos would be better if you just let those two guys who haven't seen it watch it on their own. I think their reactions and thoughts afterward would be more genuine. I know that my reactions and thoughts would be skewed if I were watching something for the first time with three guys who've all seen it a hundred times and could quote every line or give trivia on every detail. Every time one of them turns and says "What'd you think?" I can see the long haired guy swallow whatever he was actually going to say and instead say "It was good." I'm not saying he's lying or that he secretly hates the show. I'm just saying that I think the discussion would be more open and honest if it were just the two guys who haven't seen the show reacting to it. There's just this weird tension in the air whenever somebody asks you to watch something they LOVE and then asks you what you think.

its such a pointless arc cad bane and maralo eval wouldn't have escaped the prison with out obi wans help (the sassy clone wars obi wan wouldn't have stopped the plan right here and said something like well you two clearly aren't escaping any time soon i'm going back to my cell) and then later in the box the whole team would have died if obi wan hadn't found the way through the dioxis or the next room with the moving walls. why even have the box? what its clear they needed the parwon (mushroom) for his abillity to get through the shield so what happens if he doesn't make it through any of the other rooms. and why is the inventor of the holgraphic disguise even participating surely he just sells them the tech they need and is on his way seeing as he dies anyway so they clearly didn't need his help to use it. in the end the badies all end up exactly where they started and anakin looses some trust he had in the jedi council.
