At work rn, but seeing this in the celebration stage was so special. I actually snuck in with my mom, god bless her. And when the praetorian guard came out, I just started weeping because I knew Paz was done. She did too. She just grabbed me and said “I’m so sorry Joe.” That whole night was just…a lot

This was such an incredible episode. I loved this one so much, I thought it was perfect. I felt like everything about it was just so fantastic in every aspect. The the story, the writing, the action and the interactions between the characters made this episode even more incredible. I also loved the score for this episode, it gave us both that classic Mandalorian theme that we love and some action, thriller sounding themes. And the set design for the locations in this one were so amazing. Whether it was the couple of minutes of Coruscant, Navarro or even the ruins of Mandalor, they just looked so real, fantastic, and really lived in through out the entirety of their scenes. Right off the bat it was so good to get to see Moff Gideon again. I was so happy to get to see him come back in this show after his last appearance in the season 2 finale. And along with him there were a ton of Live Action Imperial Mandalorians. It was super cool to get to see theses guys make their live action debut from Rebels, even if their design was slightly different. And it was even cooler to get to see them in action later on in the episode. I loved the Imperial Remnants meeting scene, I really liked the way how Moff Gideon was able to manipulate all the others into getting what he wanted. It was also really great to get a shoutout to Grand Admiral Thrawn and to see General Hux’s dad. And wow, that Mandalorian fleet is huge, it looked even bigger than when we saw it in last week’s episode. And it is so amazing to me that we got to see this many live action Mandalorians all at once. This vast number of them are usually only ever seen in the animated shows, so I do not take it for granted that we got to see something like this. I also loved Grogu using IG-11 as a mech suit. Not only was it funny to see him piloting it around and doing various other things in it. But it also kind of solves the “Grogu talking” dilemma. Many people want to hear him talk, but a lot of people also feel like we don’t need to and it would be a little weird. So I feel like having him speak through IG-11 is a good compromise. And I also loved that despite their differences, these two Mandalorian factions worked together. It was just really great to see all of them put their differences aside to work towards the common goal of reclaiming their home planet. It was also really cool to see some Mandalorian survivors that were still on Mandalor. I just think that it’s a really cool concept that after the Great Purge some of them either refused to leave or were left behind. And I loved that we finally got to learn what happened on Mandalor during the Night of a Thousand Tears and how Moff Gideon got the Darksaber. And it was so sad to hear Bo-Katan tell the story because you could hear the sorrow in her voice and see how mortified her facial expressions were while telling the entire thing. I really liked the fight between Paz Vizsla and Axe Woves, I mean from just the glares they gave each other when they first saw one other you could tell this was eventually going to happen. But I really liked the choreography, both of them fought in their own unique way that was reflective of different clans they came from. Paz used mostly his body and depended mostly on his knife, but Axe mostly used his jet pack and only used his knife when he absolutely needed it. And it was great to see that it was Grogu (in his IG-11 suit) who finally put a stop to the fight. I also really loved the fight between the Mandalorians and the Imperial Mandalorians. The action was awesome, it was great to see these two factions fighting together, taking down the Imperials. And I really liked how tense it was at first, they were pinned down and out numbered, which made it even cooler when they pushed back the Imperial Mandalorians. I also really liked all the unique and different ways the Mandalorians found to kill the Imperial Mandalorians. And boy was I surprised by that trap. I did not see it coming that they would purposely separate Din from the rest of the group to capture him. But I will say I did suspect something was up when the Imperial Mandalorians just showed up out of nowhere and when they halls they were going down had Imperial designs. But none the less it felt like a brilliant plan and reminded me a lot of some of the ones Thrawn had during Rebels. It was also really cool to see Din fighting those Imperial Mandalorians, not giving up until the very end when they pin him down and string him up. I was also really surprised to see that Moff Gideon imprisoned Din rather than just kill him, so I’m curious as to why he did that. It was really cool to see Moff Gideon in his own Imperial Mandalorian armor, not only was this a cool moment but I also really liked the design of the armor. And speaking of the armor’s design, his helmet had horns on it, which is a lot like the Armorer’s and and the Darth Maul Mandalorian’s. And man was that Paz Vizsla fight awesome. Not only did he take down a ton of them but he also gave it his all. It was just super cool to see him do all this stuff. I mean he literally used his heavy repeating blaster to its limit, then threw it at one of the Imperial Mandalorians and then proceeded to take the rest of them out going hand to hand. And after watching all that, it made the next scene pretty heartbreaking. We get to see the introduction of these really cool looking new Praetorian Guards. I really liked their design, they remind me a lot of the ones from the Last Jedi while also having a Mandalorian sort of style going on. But, even after what we saw he was capable of, those three Praetorian Guards were able to beat Paz. It was so sad to see him go, not only because we just watched him defend till the end but because of how much of a character he has become this season. He actually felt like a fully fledged character who had characteristics, personality, and character development/growth. Not to mention how we learned he had a son, a son (may I add) that he never got to say his final goodbyes to, which makes the whole thing even sadder when you think about it. Anyway, I loved this episode so much. It was so perfect in every aspect and served as a great action packed thriller. I am super curious to see what will happen in next week’s episode. And how they will wrap up everything from this season by the end. I cannot wait for the season 3 finale next week, I am super hyped. This is the Way By the Way: I got a crazy theory, I think that cyborg creature from Episode 2 was working for Moff Gideon. We saw that it set a trap for wandering Mandalorian’s and then paralyzed them and took their blood. It could have been because Moff Gideon didn’t want any Mandalorians stumbling upon his base. So he hired that cyborg creature to capture them, then after it paralyzed them it would send them to Moff Gideon who would use their bodies to experiment on for the possible Palpatine clones like what Hemlock is doing with the Clones in the Bad Batch. But this is all just a theory and will probably be disproved by next week’s episode.

I totally agree on the sets. Everything looked a lot better and more real here. Don't necessarily think the Mandalorian fleet is big, just that any ships will look huge like that when they're that close to the ground. Great use of the sense of scale on the filmmaker's part. Paz Vizsla leaving a son behind now definitely makes his final sacrifice a lot more sad yeah. After they added that in, I feel like we all should've seen Paz's death coming a mile away. Side characters like him only get a ton of build up like that if they're about to die lol. Also heard that theory about that Spider-Droid thing going around too! Wouldn't be surprised honestly, though it didn't exactly seem like it spoke basic or anything? I don't know, it seemed so detached from most species that I'd honestly be surprised if Moff Gideon found a way to work with it. Still leaves the question as to why it was drawing blood though. Great breakdown as always! I agree with most of it for sure.

My 2 favorite details: 1: Gideon takes his helmet off hastily and carelessly, but the Mandos do it with care, and 2: the beskar wearing people only die when blasts hit the gaps in their armor

Bo-Katan: “You taught your apprentice well.” Din: “He didn’t learn that from me.” That line hits HARD!! Grogu is serving the purpose that the Jedi were supposed to. He’s being a peacekeeper… of MANDALORE!!

Liked the scene with Din & Bo, she always doubted that she could lead the Mandalorians and always thought she needed some sort of symbol to be good enough. Din is telling her these symbols are meaningless and it is her that is good enough. Great scene Don’t think she’s taking over the show, it’s just her arc

That Praetorian Guard kill move where they stab the weapon down through the rear shoulder blade is a popular kill move in Ancient Rome Gladiator fights. It was featured quite a few times in the STARZ Spartacus series. In one scene Spartacus was forced to kill one of his gladiator friends that way and it was heartbreaking.

As someone that's never seen Clone Wars, I've honestly been kinda annoyed with how Din and Grogu have been sidelined for basically the whole season. They're the reason I'm watching the show, I wish they actually had more of a role in the story beyond the second episode. The comments from celebration about how it's not necessarily Din's show tell me that I'm probably not going to care when season 4 arrives. Maybe i should finally get around to clone wars before then

12:00 I agree the argument can be made that it’s Din Djarin’s show and I agree it’s is his, but to be totally honest with you… I do agree with you I’m okay with having Bo Katan in it, and having her have tons of screen time but it kinda feels like there taking the show away from Din Djarin and making it more about Bo Katan. Bo can play a big part but at this point it kinda feels like there making her the main character and I’m not totally a fan of that, not to mention it seems like there making Bo a little less herself and a little more like a generic girl boss character like Rey, not completely but just a little bit, I still love her and this show but BOBF I think really ruined it’s potential to be even better.

To be honest The Book of Boba Fett really ruined the entire plot of these shows moving forward, and it was Kathleen Kennedy’s fault and all those projects Disney announced seem (mostly) like crap. If I may, Ross, I don’t think Project Necromancer (the project Paelleon and Brendol Hux mention) is the resurrection of Palpatine. Apparently, if the leaks for Ahsoka are true, and that’s a big IF, they tease that the project is a plan to create an army of undead stormtroopers under the command of Thrawn in his bid to become Heir to the Empire. Which wouldn’t surprise me given that the trilogy of Heir to the Empire books is now looking to be officially made canon in live-action going into Ahsoka and MAAAYBEEE Dave Filoni’s SW movie that he’s directing, whichever one that may be.
