We had some requests for Star Wars the Old Republic, but weren't sure which cinematic trailer people wanted us to react to. So we went with Star Wars The Old Republic Knights of the Fallen Empire Cinematic Trailer Reaction.

In this time period (which is about 3500 - 4000 years before) the movies the Jedi and Sith are at war with eachother, in a time where both the Sith and Jedi's numbers were in the 1000s. As you could imagine this is a long story in itself so i'll try to focus on the essentials of this particular trailer. The brothers, Arcann (in White) and Thexan (in Black), are neither Jedi or Sith, but part of the ''Eternal Empire''. The Eternal Empire is a third party in the war and takes out both the Republic (Jedi) and the Sith Empire, hence why you see them killing both Jedi and Sith and showing the lightsabers to their father. Their father is Volkorion, or the Eternal Sith Emperor...You know...killed my parents when i was 10, consumed the life force of an entire planet and being sith emperor for a millenia. In the trailer his goal is for the strongest one of the two to survive. This is why he keeps neglecting them until one of the two eventually gets consumed by the dark side and kills the other one. The stories in the old republic are really deep and there is tons of lore but that's at least the long and short of it for this trailer There is another trailer called 'Betrayed', which takes place after this trailer (Sacrifice). There is also 3 trailers that take part before ''Sacrifice''. Those are Return, Hope and Deceived, in that order. You should definetly check them out too as these trailers are probably Star Wars at its finest. For the 3 first ones though it is really important you get the original voice overs.

Lowballing Vitiate/Valkorion a bit, but otherwise mostly correct(he killed his mother and unwitting "step-father" at 6, torturing his mother for months for her betrayal of their family. And kills his biological father(the Sith Lord ruling the planet) at 13 in a duel. And proceeds to mind dominate everyone on his home planet). PS. This is far from the first. But it's one of the more important ones to the story later in.

Only for him to Wipe them all out as well as kill every living Being on the planet including animals, Plantlife, and the planets force itself.

Lord Valkorion never wanted twin sons, so that's why he basically abused them with brutal physical training. He noticed their bond as they grew up and wanted to manipulate and turn that love into hatred towards him knowing it will break one of them. The brother left standing would be trained in the Dark Side

It's very cool. Looks like Keanu Reeves and Favreau (who did the new Lion King) and Filoni are doing some stuff in this realistic cg style from this era. Very excited for this new branch of the lore.

You're gonna be disappointed by the game, I feel like. Its decent, and I've spent what might be a couple hundred hours playing it, but its nothing like these trailers. It's a free to play massively multiplayer role-playing game. Its probably the best free game I've ever played, but if you're expecting it to live up to these trailers, which are easily the best trailers I've ever seen, then I wouldn't get your hopes up. Good game, for costing nothing, but manage your expectations if you're thinking of giving it a shot.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames maybe just keep an open mind. Its got some decent stories to tell. In fact I feel like Disney could develop a movie based on the time period that the games take place in, and rake in quite a bit of money while telling a good story that people want to see.

Gameplay-wise? Sure. It's got some of the best Star Wars stories imo, though. People talk up the Operative story line all the time, and not for nothing. They could-and should-make a series from that story.

@@trumps_toupee I totally agree. The Imperial Agent storyline, I feel like, is universally loved by everybody who's played the game. I just started playing it again, and I think my original comment was a little too hard on it. Its just that, if you're not a hardcore gamer, I feel like you're gonna shit on it because its not super high budget and pretty looking.
