My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when Star Wars kept balance between the people. But that all changed when Disney took over.

People forget that a color or an identity doesn't mean you cant relate to certain character

It’s the character itself that matters not the appearance. And people needs to study more often.

Watching this reminded me of when Revenge of the Sith came out. Here I am, 8 years old, little white boy in a black neighborhood, having the time of my life pretending to be a Jedi Knight taking out Separatist droids with all the neighbors kids. Yeah they had PS2s and GameCubes, but I had lightsabers, nerf guns, and a whole forest to explore. Amazing how just ONE Star Wars movie (and the right toys) caused a whole neighborhood to put our imaginations together day after day.

dude that sounds like such an awesome memory. Just proves what Star Wars is really all about - making friends!!! It's so crazy that next year Revenge of the Sith will turn 20 years old. i think i was 11 at the time it came out... i'll never forget lightsaber duelling with other kids in line while we waited for the theatre to let us in. Really felt like everybody was on the same page back then.

You could feed 10 American families with the amount of irony in these clips. Remember everyone, it's not hypocrisy, it's hierarchy. They don't care about the principle, they care about them personally being the ones advantaged.

These Disney people focus so much on how different people are that they just end up causing more division.

It's always the people in charge of doing this, forcing the actors to say this bs
@ledinyourwalls16 сағат бұрын
You have to realize though that they're just reading a script, they don't really mean any of this, and neither does Disney, Disney doesn't care about politics or race they care about money, and by having the actors make these embarrassing statements the suits believe they'll attract a wider audience of people. Is it embarrassing? Yes, is there anything wrong with it at the end of the day? No, but like usual it's just the suits sticking their head where so doesn't belong, that's the whole reason Mando S3 and BOBF weren't that good because the suits thought the show wouldn't perform well without grogu

While it is true to an extent, if Disney cares about nothing but money, then they shouldn’t be these guys that antagonize the very audience they are supposed to cater towards to. They may not mean much, but it certainly does not help the case. And even if it did, it’s still not good enough.

Well the answer here is simple really. Kathleen Kennedy absolutely refuses to acknowledge any character from George Lucas Star Wars unless she has the power to change them to her horrible disfigured image. That's why you hear her and her "Acolytes" constantly contradicting themselves and pretending as if black characters and females characters never existed in star wars till Disney bought it.
@ledinyourwalls10 сағат бұрын
She just like the rest of Disney doesn't care at all about politics, these kinds of stupid stunts are entirely on the suits. Also this weird narrative that she changes characters is far from reality, her problems as a leader for Lucasfilm stem from two things 1. Inability to handle the sheer amount of shows/movies being released, and her generally laid back leadership for the SW franchise, if Lucas didn't like something being added to his lore like say a wookie Jedi he wouldn't allow it, KK on the other hand will just let the writers run free with nothing stopping them from doing silly bs

I just love how the writing for the force awakens in particular reflects the reality in all of this woke pandering. It’s always the liberal white women who will be the first to claim how much they care about minorities, only to side line them the second they either don’t agree, or simply get in the way of their agendas. Look at the dynamic between Finn and Rey, I thought for sure Finn was going to be the new Jedi character, and I would have loved to see that, but nope, Rey swoops in last second for no damned good reason other than “tHe fOrCe iS fEmALe”.
@ledinyourwalls8 сағат бұрын
It's not white women pandering though, it's all soulless businessmen doing whatever they can to line their pockets, also "the force is female" was just a sad little Nike event KK got invited to, just like Disney Nike doesn't care about politics just saying whatever to try to boost those sales
