The pneumatic doors is used in trains trams metros and buses

Not sure if they are pneumatic, most likely belt or chain driven. A lot of people make these kind of doors with windshield wiper motors, this way you can make sure that both doors open and close immediatly at the same time. Thanks for watching!

You needed 3 feet +- each side ? 18" for door, and 18" for cylinders?

That’s correct. You could also make the doors hollow and have the cylinders be inside the doors if you needed less room.

Would it negatively affect the door if the pnuamitc was as top or bottom of door instead of center ? (I assume bottom would be a problem without a bottom track) near the top should be fine, right ?

Where I would love to put that door requires creativity on one side. Or a telescopic door with the pneumatics over laid.

Wow! More than $700 for just the pneumatic parts. I think I'll just hire a kid to pull the rope with pulleys to open and close the doors for the shoot. hahaha
