Star Wars Visions: "In the Stars" Review & Discussion with Thor & Naboo

As chilean, the story hits me in the heart because it's inspired in a real event: the genocide of Selk'nam people from Tierra Del Fuego (southern south america) in the lasts years of XIX century. If you google some images of selk'nam people, you will see Koten, Tichina and the paintings are heavily based on ritual paintings and costumes of them. The lack of water for the sisters is an issue in my country, too, since Chile is suffering a hard water loss due to climatic change, pollution and almost unregulated industrial use. People of small farm towns need to get water from trucks because rivers are getting dry... Don't need to say more. I just loved the episode.

Some other people pointed out that they both die because there were 2 stars added next to the mother's. A did notice that but didn't think further about it. But since it's based on an indiginous culture that was completely wiped out it's very likely that that was the case.

So at the end you see the star of their mother, and then you see two more stars appear. The water becomes nice and blue which doesn't make much sense. I think the two sisters actually perished in the water, and their Stars appeared in the sky but they are in their version of Heaven now

This episode really shows how much of the studios personal culture went into it. I loved seeing more different influences in Star Wars like this.

This was probably one of the darkest episodes of Visions and the sisters' desperation was heartbreaking -- just trying to get drinkable water! It was a very well-done episode, however, showing the ruthlessness and cruelty of the Empire.

Half of these are “some kid does something she’s not supposed to” but it turns out okay in the end because the force.

I love how alien the Tie Fighter looked at the start. It looked so foreign in how it obviously did not belong. Sadly I was not super invested into the story of this one. Still a good episode though and visually it looks great just like many of the others.

As sad as it sounds, I'm pretty sure both sisters died in the end. When they're seen out of the water the world is way more colorful than it was before (pretty sure pollution doesn't work like that). The big kicker is that two more stars appear in the sky next to their mother's. I guess the animators left it open to interpretation.

Same, like she does feel like a little kid in the sense she’s dumb, but it feels like they’re trying to make us root for her like “yeah older sister believe in her!” But like she’s a little kid she understandable wouldn’t want her little sister to be put in such danger

Why were there Snowtroopers inside the facility where the weather doesn't seem to justify it? Also gotta love how they had plenty of opportunities to kill both of the sisters but the Empire is always like this, I won't blame that on this short. Overall one of the weaker ones especially after the Sith and Screechers Reach.

This episode really didn't do it for me. The plot was too predictable, the younger sister was annoying, and the clean water pouring out from the facility into the poisoned water should have poisoned all the water. That made no sense to me.

Well so you don't really know how industrial processes work do you Especially sea side one the water is extracted from way below the surfice and later cleared in the other containers to then be used on the refining process and like the empire doesnt care about the environment it just throws it back into the ocean and if you think that they are dumb well welcome to the world of industrial greed and no consequences that drived many of the more questionable companies to set shop in places where they can either bribe officials or just dont care about the impact of it in the communities

I reallllly did not like this episode. The animation didn't really do it for me but I can look past that. The little sister was ultra annoying and I groaned so loudly when they started crushing the base. This season was full of episodes similar to this one and they got old quick

I thought the cave painting exposition was super forced and unnatural, as they already both knew all of that. Also I was on the older sisters side the entire time as the younger sister was just risking everything they had for no reason. Then they SOMEHOW managed to pull down an entire imperial facility with NO TRAINING! The animation music and atmosphere are great, but the plot isn’t stellar in my opinion. Also all they had to do is AcCepT ThE pOwEr THey AlreaDy haD

I disliked the little girl, she kept getting her sister in trouble and of course they had the force because if they didn’t they would both be dead. I noticed a theme in these episodes, the young are always correct while the experienced older people hold them back or are in the wrong.

This apisode annoyed me, particularly the younger of the two main characters, I kinda wish she had died and then that is what motivated the older sister to wreck shop (maybe shades of the dark side).
