Space engineers are hard playing guys. So the build mode is not the barier, but situations, when you need a simple craft, and you must do it outgame is annoying.

my workaround is to (i am good with the logic stuff and general wiring/ setting up modules) just build all the modules on the interior and code the scripts and send the blueprint to my friend who is amazing at designing ship exteriors.

Great to see that you are making sure everyone can get into the game. All the features of the normal build mode are great, but might be too complicated for some people. This feature may be a lifesaver for some players that aren't interested in really commiting time and effort to make a really nice ship in the editor

Indeed, I will definately start off with easy mode, as I progress I will design parts and go into more advanced ship building over time but this will make for easy transition. Oh and btw, let me iiiinnn!!

Players "who aren't interested in committing time and effort to make a really nice ship" aren't the target audience of this game. They wont mine out enough ores to build it, or enough credits to purchase it and sure wont hang around after their ship gets vaporized as soon as it leaves the safezone. Stop trying to cater to casual players by neutering existing features. This Easy build mode and "expanding SB to a broader audience" is exactly what lead to TIERED components. Instead of utilizing existing modularity of components. FULL STOP.

What would be a nice touch is being able to scroll through multiple blueprints with the same hotkey, similar to how Half Life 2 works where you have multiple weapons under the same keybind that you can scroll through. But instead of weapons you have blueprints you can select.

This is great! I wanted to build space yachts and luxury ships/shuttles or something like that but I could not figure out building... this will allow me to start up my company!

This is a really cool feature, because it makes building more accessible without taking away the inherent advantages of getting into the nitty gritty and doing it all yourself. A good ship designer will be able to build superior vessels with the same resources/volume/mass, while entry-level ship builders can still make basic vehicles with easy mode if they want their own design.

Could also in general make ship building take much less time too. I might be entirely wrong on how these things work, but if you could build a "basic" frame for a ship with just the bare essentials in the Easy Build area and then tweak them in the regular ship editor that'd cut down on loads of time of time before someone can dive into the big stuff like tweaking the internals and mechanics of the ship.

Interesting feature, it should make getting into things early on easier for players who aren't inclined to to all the detailed work themselves. I just hope it doesn't create a situation where there's no market for player-designed ships early on, as that could make getting into ship design difficult and have unpredictable long-term effects on the economy.

What can you do when you remove a part of your ship, then select it but the axis 45degree off the grid, I mean no matter how much you rotate with X Y Z it's like it's always diagonal to it. It's driving me nuts.

That's nice but what are the bindings used ? I do this and the piece don't appear even in blueprint mode because I "don't have them", which is the goal of a blueprint, it's just a plan. Do you need to have the pieces first (which defeat the purpose ?) to be able to use them in the easy build zone first ? Can I separate already placed plates on a ship ?

Nice brick lol... I just wish we could make rounder prettier looking ships in these types of games, like having more freedom in designing different size and shape cockpits and hulls and stuff. Although I understand that could be difficult. But yeh I'd love a game that would allow that.

this is just the easy build mode so that anyone can make their own ships, in the normal mode someone even made a spiral shaped ship, in normal mode is completely free form, but its too much for new players so they start with the easy mode initially. you can also just buy ships and not build anything.

i'm stuck in Tutorial: "Place selected parts from your quickbar onto the ship with... To deselect a part, press "F" To detach parts, hold rigt-mousclick with welding tool equipped...." i place a red block in middle room and thats it, nothing happend, a can't remove the block, a can't do anything.
