alex richman I guess they followed the Amonkhet story routine with Nissa, where she learns to basically 'see (through) the Matrix' of a plane, its objects and streams of mana which she can now try and manipulate. She did that with Kefnet, the Blue God, btw when he tried to wipe her mind, if you didn't know.

We played this in our group a few times and had some balance issues for sure. Specifically the Red deck never seemed to have anything good to play because all the creatures had blood lust so if gideon faltered then chandra is paying 4 mana to play 1/1s which felt really bad. I have some edits in mind for each of the decks so it should be more interesting next time.

You should consider putting your edits online somewhere. My friend just ordered it and I wouldn't mind some suggestions for changes (as some of the decks look a bit weak - the Gideon deck has seemed like it has too many lands and not enough late game power in the videos I've seen).

I think that if you're nico bolas, you shouldn't spread damage but target 1 or two people and eliminate them, leaving a few spells to clear the last guy's board.

This is true, power down Nissa, before they have a chance to get lands, then take out Chandra, finishing with Gideon because he can't overwhelm you in a 1v1, using removal spells on gideons creatures. We've been doing it, Bolas has 5 games running. Last one they actually focused the gideon, it still worked out but we had a brutal scheme pull so not sure how it would've worked.

I haven't played them, but I've watched this and the game knights episode which had some employees (or former employees) from WotC playing and it seemed like Nissa at the very least has the best late game deck - when Gavin Verhey was playing as Nicol Bolas he made it a point to kill Nissa first because of this. The Gideon deck seems pretty weak and from what people in the comments have said it has 25-26 lands which seems crazy for that deck.

just an fyi, Torchling could have killed the Kavu and walked away, you can increase the toughness infinitely and then pop the power up to 2. no -lings have seen high tier or standard in a while so some people have forgotten that shenanigan, no harm really done, justin still had a 5/6 flyer to kill with. anyhow love you guys, keep it up, and will somebody run Tomorrow? it's going on 8 seasons and like, 10 movies, the guy is basically playing with double points on if you just use possesed portal, you kill everyone with your commander and that +3 right? and probably some sort of bonus for being the first person to do it, and with a 1/5 at that, plus you have all the time in the world to cast him four times.

I don't think the interaction described with Tomorrow (I assume Azami's familiar) and Possessed Portal works either if I'm understanding correctly - wouldn't no one draw any cards including the person playing Tomorrow? Rory Philips you can infinitely increase the toughness of Torchling, but it's attack will never go below 0, meaning you can turn it into an 0/7, then to a 2/5 and have it deal lethal damage to Flametongue but be too big to trade, it's an old trick that hasn't seen much use since Ætherling was the preferred beat stick for USA control back in rtr standard. as for the Tomorrow interaction, both Possesed Portal and Tomorrow are replacement effects for drawing cards(P.Portal says "that player skips that draw instead") you get to choose which replacement effect you want to use, then the other is ignored since you are no longer "drawing a card". this combo also works with Archmage Ascension, as long as it has enough counters to make it active. you can confirm with with the guys over at MTG ask a judge if you want.

The Nicol Bolas archenemy scheme deck is great, the nicol bolas player deck is ok but the 3 allie decks (nissa, chandra and gideon) are all super weak - prebuilt decks The only reason to buy the Nicol Bolas Archenemy deck is to get the Scheme deck, wish they would just have sold the Archenemy deck as a stand alone (like the previous archenemy decks had been)
