Well, Mengsk used the Zerg for his purpose on multiple occasions back in Brood war, he used them on the Confederates in Antiga Prime and Tarsonis, then allied with Kerrigan to kick UED out of Korhal. Mengsk did manage to rally most of the terran factions to his new Dominion (expect the Kel-Morian Combine and the Umojan Protectorate) so he has that going for him.

Combined with Vorazun Mengsk is practically invincible on defensive maps, and on any map where players can gain control over the middle of the map Mengsk reigns supreme.

the workers that switch into troopers would be good at dealing with run bys or a worker rush (not useful in co-op). the weapon upgrades for the troopers follow a russian human wave style, so have your tanks and guard holding a line and then have the troopers push forward to gain ground. when they die their replacements will pick up the upgrades and you have limited loss of resources. this protects your guard so they can level up more, and they do most of their fighting dealing with damaged forces that broke through the troopers. the tanks of course support the trooper pushes in siege mode. the medivacs are cheap, so send them with the troopers and use them to get the troopers to the front (and thus their upgrades) fast. this means that you shouldn't have massive amounts of troopers past the early to mid game, and only a few (2 or 3 medivacs maybe) will be upgraded as those will be your permanent wave.

I may be weird, but Mengsk was my favourite character in the original StarCraft. There were all thse heroes fighting for revenge, freedom, justice, and all those clichés, and there was this guy who just wanted to build an empire. While the others have superpowers and armies and everything, this guy's main weapon was some fine realpolitik. It was kind of sad that all of SC1 lore was thrown out the window, and an interesting character was turned into a Hitler so that he could be a boring antagonist, while the perfect antagonist was made into a good guy...

Thank you! SCII tossed so much of the grey of SCI out the window it was frustrating. Mengsk was driven but honestly seemed like the best bet to fight the Zerg and then Amon. Meanwhile, drunken fool Reynor and LITERAL omnicidal monster Kerrigan becomes "redeemed" but the fact that Zerg are still trying to eat everyone and both of them cause horrendous civilian casualties in their petty little revenge attack on Mengsk is...glossed over. And at the end...none of it mattered. 😆 I'm just assuming it was all an alcoholic stupor dream of Reynor right before he died.

@@fedupN lol they didnt just mindlessly switch up. The kerrigan from sc1 and WOL was evil as hell because she was corrupted. Raynor only tried to save her again AFTER he realized she could be cured. And yes, he and kerrigan sacrificed lives to get their revenge lol imagine if they hadn't? And mensk was always a power hungry aggressor. The only reason why he wasn't like that in sc1 was because he didnt have his full empire yet.

Mengsk was about his revenge to confederacy. Confederates nuked his planet and kerrigan murdered his family. Leaving her on new gettysburg was the final act of his revenge, like putting her into the same situation that she did to him.

Well that's the thing though... nobody ever wants to "build an empire" and then just stop and use it for good. So it was kind of guaranteed that he'd become the antagonist. I agree they did make his character a bit bland and cliche though.

Looks like he has a powerful start since he can basically produce 2 workers at a time (just have to switch half of them to laborers). He can also expand early with the help of those "orc burrows from space" 😁. Downside, he seems to be allergic to laser giraffes . Looking forward for your "leveling up 1-15" vid

The strat I've learned so far with Mengsk is to rush a starport as quickly as possible to get your Imperial Witnesses out. They are your detectors that also provide 20% attack and move speed while they are in Patriot mode, and when you get to level 5 they increase your imperial mandate gain speed for every trooper within their areas of effect. Other than that, he plays a lot like a bio Terran, don't forget the weapon upgrades because the flamethrowers and especially the heavy missile launchers are very strong for what they do. You can very easily burst down the Mobius hybrids on part and parcel with them, as well as other heavy air units

I played Mengsk quite a bit earlier today and really...cross of Warcraft 3 humans and orcs with imperial guard from warhammer 40k I started with massive unequipped troopers and transitioned myself to defensive unequipped troopers, equipped offensive troopers, and some royal guard, to full on royal guard. The transitional strategy seems to be most effective Remember that your troopers can also build the canons, supply bunkers, and missile turrets. You can stack troopers and laborers onto constructing buildings to speed the construction up, and you can put troopers into canons to make them fire faster. When you got the canons firing, they'll continually target that area automatically for quite a long time.

Mengsk has a few bugs, I've found. For example, the orbital drop pods upgrade you can get for laborers and troopers only works for laborers. Troopers still have to walk. I've also found that the 8 slot build queue in the CC's actually have a hidden 9th slot, which I bet isn't supposed to be there.

I think there's should be royal guard marines like Adeptus custodes and -guardsmen- citizens having a morale meter, if their morale too low they will retreat and don't listen orders but if new unit imperial comissar will kill some of retreating their morale will be restored, and if they have extremely high morale they will have damage and attack speed buff but they will attack without order (41 nukes ability must be renamed on exterminatus)

For some reasons, I get the feelings that Emperor Menks has been taking lessons from Stucov and Nova. He have both cheap expendable infiltry and can make really good use off bunkers like Stucov, but he also have very expensive and powerful units like Nova. He even got some tutoring lessons from Thygus (sorry for misspelling his name) how to level up his elites.

I think the best strategy for Mengsk is to just try to max out supply on Troopers in the beginning and as your army dies off replace them with whatever Royal Guards you can afford and deem necessary for the mission as well as more Troopers.

Definitely up for watching, I like to take in some Single Player-ish content when I can. Even if you don't upload I'll likely watch at least an hour or two of the stream vod through Twitch's lackluster player. so yes, if you were to upload it here that would be a courtesy to me.

Queue as Mengsk: 20 min wait time I heard Queue as anyone else: Instant match-up I only got to final play as Mengsk when I my partner left randomly in the first minute of the game.

Hes like a mix between Nova(strong elite units), Kerrigan (expendable troops), and Karax (strong call downs and turrets but instead of defence its for attacking). Looks like a ton of fun

A cool trick I heard but haven't been able to try! If you pick up your tanks in the medivacs they can fire at air units! :)
