anyone find it amusing that: mutalisk was the only combat unit that can mutate into others before brood war, but now mutalisk is sort of the only combat unit that cannot? Blizzard should rename mutalisk to immutalisk

​@@Cerecyte1221 I think so, you know early before brood war there were supposed to be 10 units for zerg (drone, zergling, overlord, hydra, muta, scourge, guardian, queen, ultra, defiler) to be morphed from larva, but there were exactly 9 cells on the control panel. So they decided to mutate guardian from another unit instead of larva, and consequently named that unit "mutalisk" so that they can fit all the units on the larva morph panel. Later on they thought morphing units from other units was a good idea and added lurker (and devourer) and the uniqueness of mutalisk faded away.

@@Razielts1 Current solution is the best scenario we could hope for. Changing the mutation source of either brood lord or corruptor to mutalisk would lead to the demise of corruptor. Remember devourer? No one builds it because it is too expensive and takes too long to build without offering much more than mutalisk. If brood lords were mutated from mutas, then no one would build corruptors any more since mutas can basically do whatever corruptors do and they can be morphed into brood lord.

I quited when they removed infested terrans. I was winning the same amound of games (Master 2), but I needed to finish games before 10/11 minutes even tho I practiced late game for years. This was like slap to the face and after a couple of months more nerfes came live. Then I realised it was good decision to quit. Many past zerg players probably feel the same way.

the problem with giving them strong late game units is the remax capabilities of zerg. smash two late game units and even if zerg loses a whole new army is there again while you're still remaking your expensive stuff. Right now the remax of zerg is very strong already how much more if they can remax fast with strong late game units.

@@N0noy1989 only if the Zerg has the economy to support it. Zerg units aren't especially cheap, apart from roaches really which are incredibly supply inefficient. The meta at the moment allows Zerg to get their 80 drone economy without that much pressure to be honest.

34:37 as a protoss player, I'm just going to be salty no matter what. Also, the reminder of this being a best of 3 actually caught me off guard. What a spectacular first game. Zerg needs an answer to late game terran mech, other than just relying on neurals. An idea could be that the brood lords and thors have the same attack distance. That way, the brood lords could be playing a kiting game, and the split seconds before a brood lord sends out broodlings could be used by the terran to actually hit the brood lords. Could turn into one big game of chicken between the players. Also, pros trash talking, having fun, always a bonus.

You give them the same range and you have to nerf lurkers range... lurkers should be used more in combination with broodlords. They also require scans which in turn costs a lot in terms of late game strat for terran. I know they get expensive but could be worth the $$

Zerg has really lackluster anti-air. Hydras might as well not exist, queens have extremely limited AA capacity, mutas are trash, and corruptors are the only decent AA unit. Even then, corruptors have to be made en masse to be remotely useful.

I would argue that game one wasn't all that competitive. Serral had 6k 6k at one point but because how that map funnels Z, he had to take his time to close it out. Theorycrafting but in a game where you're that far ahead. Just make like 10 Overseers and wait for contamination energy. Once you trade your army just fly in and cancel out his entire production cycle. Thats Checkmate. Gimmicky as hell, but with that much money i think it could force a win.

Not sure if you're trying to troll my quirky idea. Though I'll answer as if you're not. Even if Serral had sneakyness to get the scv and build up Several factories and a mech army. Remember His army would be 0/0 On upgrades. Compared to the 3/3 of Marinelord. I also dont think stolen other races units work like broodwar. I dont think you get an additional Terran supply cap. So you're not just adding 0/0 Thors to the 200/200 zerg amry.

It is separate supply. But in SC2 for whatever the reason they don't show the other supply like in broodwar. Also the scale of gas to neural a SCV long enough to build a CC is like 5 or 6 infestors. Huge waist of gas and time. Serral would be punished hard for such a weak tech path.

LowkoTV, What if zerg uses the worm to be able to hope to opposite sides of the map and just speeds around both flanks faster then the terran can move the thors. The main drawback of thors is their slow speed, use the worm and hope from one side to the other only taking favorable hit and runs to soft contain them and force them to come onto the creep and fight.

First game was super fun, but I'm not sure it was really that close at the end, although several times close in the midgame. Serral did the hard work of out-expanding and containing (barely) the terran on fewer bases whilst building a huge bank for suicide squads. He then did not need to attack the turtled MarineLorD in his entrenched established bases, except as a distraction. He "just" needed to contain each terran moveout away from static defense and defend his bases on creep for the entire game until terran runs out of resources. Right, I see your problem right there :-) But that's probably a normal game for him! Then he can suicide the fixed defense when it can't be rebuilt and run in the infestors to neural and destroy the terran army which can't be rebuilt.

I love trash talk in gaming. Me and my friend even have rules about that. Every match we played had to first start with a out of game trash talk, like in wrestling. This trash talk is also evaluated and can make the difference in case of draw to select the winner.

i think like protoss mother ship letting zerg have levaithan could help levithan can load up all your units ferry it across the map and unload it fast, but if leviathan dies with units all units die. its a dumb idea i know, but if you are not a pro player zerg late game is super hard the big problem is zerg needs alot of units to counter what other two race has makes ultra liberators bc counters them so they make air but thors counter them, and its just hard for a casual player

I think the Infrested Terran nerf has been really good for Zerg, and I actually like that Zerg has a dynamic in the late-game where it's all about map control, where you're all about keeping your enemy contained and starving them out, that's cool and interesting, and the dynamic of "Sure, kill my maxed-out army, I'll build another one while you're still recovering" is one of those beautiful things where game design is able to successfully make gameplay and lore/theme harmonize together. But I also think the Brood Lord-Thor range dynamic should be changed to give Zerg at least *something* they can do to kill Thors reasonably well. Maybe the answer is to give them the same range, so they fight more evenly, rewarding good micro on the Terran player's side, or you give the Broods the range advantage so Zerg can force Terran out of their shell a little. Yeah, buffing Zerg will make Serral and Raynor even more busted, but every nerf they've given the race hasn't changed that, the problem isn't Zerg, the problem is that these two madlads are fucking amazing. Don't nerf Zerg, nerf the God-tier Europeans who *play* Zerg. But it'd be nice to see Terran incentivized to make the core of their army not just a Thor doomstack. okay, that's a bit of an exagguration, but I think it'd be fun to see Thors accompanied by more Viking Air Support to defend them from Brood Lords, for example. Thors are a little too good at everything in TvZ, I think, even if you need other units to be quick and responsive. I still don't want those Zerg armies to trade efficiently, but forcing Terran to build a late-game army that they can cripple in a big doomball clash might be good.

No. That is a Reason why I hate Zerg Air. They are very useless. Even though they can be good on Paper they are just Bad. Zerg is Ground Main and Defensive Structures are not being used enough in Numbers to make a big difference. Zerg is the only Race that has nearly useless defensive Buildings. Only Spore is useful but isn't built enough. If Spore Crawlers would be buffed in Strength equal to Rocket Turrets with increased cost to 100, we would have some deceant Anti- Air.

i think baneling splash damage should cause friendly damage too. If tanks blow each other up then so should they. Losing a tank hurts more than losing a few baneling. Zerg players wouldn't be so inclined to always pump out baneling armies then. that seems to be the main go-to.
