I achieve peak protoss by losing everything to a single bunker, then avoiding them forever. I'm so ready for PvT to be done.

2:57 in brood war you gain vision of any unit that attacks you for a couple seconds. I think because the goon's attack animation is so slow it's possible to shoot him before he even fires off his shot lol.

Ah good, dragoons were just TOO GOOD. I know you get the high ground vision but I was hoping I was either waiting it out or moving away from the point that vision was given.

Fantastic, so Dragoons do the equivalent of yelling "hey!" when you get the drop on somebody so they can react and shoot.

On display here are the truly "what the heck" range boxes of units. I don't know what shape they exactly are or how they work, but you really feel the strangeness when a dragoon can attack something almost a full screen away one minute, but can't shoot something two dragoon lengths away the next.

I feel like whenever I upgrade dragoon range, it's actually Schrödinger's Charge. It can make the range higher than 6 but also shorter than 4 depending on unseeable quantum effects.

My understanding is that it's a combination of two factors: 1) range boxes in SC1 are rectangular, so units can shoot much farther diagonally than orthogonally (at least to our standard distance reckoning), and 2) dragoons are very dumb and sometimes just walk forward for no reason.

@@jarrakul Actually, range in sc1 is not rectangular, nor circular. Its closer to a 12-sided shape. Yes, thats as crazy as it sounds. Specific angles can be fired at further than a circle would suggest. Also range calculations sometimes go edge-edge and sometimes mid-edge

I think part of the reason why you're seeing so many 1/256s in this mod is because it's actually visible. In normal play, you barely notice when one bullet out of 30 misses, but this mod makes each and every single shot matter and gives a very obvious sign that the shot does or does not hit, that being death or survival of the unit.

It was also like 5 minutes of just running around the map with full vision and testing angles and whatnot. I figure streamlining the vod watching is important.

Ok, I have to ask, but where in the world is the Artanis line from for his respawn? Its so random I thought I was mishearing it until I read it the third time he died.

It's his many clicks quote. He talks about SC being Warcraft space and how SC is much more sophisticated. Then the next line is "I know it's not 3D". I think this is correct but I didn't go double check myself.

Unless I remember incorrectly, all the respawn quotes are part of their normal "available in every mission" quotes. I tried to make every quote used only once, but heroes that appear too often with too few decent lines out of context (*cough* infested kerrigan) unfortunately end up with the same line multiple times. I also tried to tie each quote that I ended up using to the best mission for it, like how Kerrigan says "Yes Cerebrate" in the protoss campaign, written as Executor, because of the history of that missions hard-coding. 3D for a Space Blockade was actually more funny after 7thAce pointed it out, I somehow only thought about it halfway, that it was in Space.

That UED blockade... I wonder if Artanis knows that space travel has three dimensions? :D Then again, maybe the UED have set up similar platforms in the area in a sort of big sphere formation like the Taiidan did with their Ion Frigates around that Hyperspace Inhibitor...

I figured I wouldn't have the tools to defeat/pass by all of the bunkers without the reavers. I cut out a planning segment on this for video length where I went over the general plan.

@@7thAce Meanwhile in all my Pokemon games over the years, the only Shiny I've ever countered was the red Gyrados from Pokemon Gold/Crystal/SoulSilver and that's because it was an encounter. I honestly can't remember if I ever did encounter a Shiny outside of that...

The hero respawns shouldnt be infinite, it makes sense to have the respawn mechanic for this kind of gimmick but, they should only have a limited number of respawns

I decided early on that I would leave how much hero cheesing you use, up to the player. If you don't like the crutch don't use it. I could easily have done a dynamic cooldown (eg, 18s for first revive +4s each death), or a cost to revive system (drains money in order to actually do the revive countdown), I had both of them handy, but I chose not to.
