My dad moved from Iran to America at the age of 18.5 to begin his university studies in Louisiana. This was back in 1977, and now he has no accent. It all depends on the circumstances of each person and how often you interact with others. Joseph being in real estate, probably interacted a lot with other New Yorkers. My dad also did when teaching and working as an engineer.

@@FlowerTrollSan Why though? I don't think you can lose an accent after childhood, and since Joseph's been speaking with the accent until he was 19 (and beyond), there's no way for him to lose it permanently.

Because of the SpeedWagon Foundation, he spent most of his time there and as a result gained an American accent overtime. Apparently his happens a lot when migrating or staying in a country for a long time. Plus Joseph is like 60ish so I imagine he had plenty of years.

@@PataStonks Yeah, but I don't think you can lose an accent accidentally, so that would mean that Joseph has trained to speak without the accent. And most of the times when someone changes their accent, it's because your direct environment speaks with another accent, but Joseph's closest contacts (Erina, Speedwagon) all have an accent as well. It's possible to lose it, but after Joseph's age it would take a lot of effort I believe.

I was disappointed to find out that Joseph had his own part where he was a young man, and very awesome. Araki did it on purpose because he hadn't yet figured out how to avoid previous JoJo's upstaging the new one. Thus why Joseph got old in Part 3, while in Part 4, Joseph went senile while Jotaro didn't show up as much despite still being close to top form (He couldn't use Star Platinum's "The World" as long as even when he pwned DIO).
