So before I get the whole stand stat (the letters) argument here. they’re bullshit. They have never been consistent and a majority of the time are just wrong. the only thing that matters on those things is the stand description.

I think they *can* be useful in scaling, but you need to look at the descriptions and the chapters they are placed between to figure out if the stats are referring to the ability or the stands physical stats.

He didn't. Sheer Heart Attack explicitly works differently from Killer Queen. Bites The Dust is more akin to Killer Queen, and he definitely didn't survive that. Besides, Shigechi survived a KQ bomb inches from his face. That's a low bar to clear.

He didn't get weaker, people just came prepped to face him better. By part 4, he's something of a legend among the Stand using community as the guy who took Dio out, so you have to have a "what happens if Jotaro shows up" plan ready to go.

Hell, even before fighting Dio, One of the D'arby brothers mentioned he would do the "Ora Ora Thing" which meant 2 things, one is that Jotaro was gaining notoriety for being hella strong amongst Dio's minions and they probably spread that around, 2. Stand cries are VERY clearly audible and it isn't something like KnY's visual effects being all performative. By part 4 as you said people already knew he was trouble. In part 5 Italy was safe because he didn't bother to show up.

I think this is only an art style change, because when you see the flashback story of Polnareff you can see Jotaro's muscles way slimmer, so in theory they are the same throughout the show. But they could be slimmer since yk, he's old like you said.

I think the reason Jotaro stopped using Time Stop after Part 3 is because of its association with Dio. Stands are the manifestation of one's soul, and since Dio (who Araki describes as the living embodiment of evil in the series) had the "same stand" with the same ability, it brings into question Jotaro's own nature. So, to avoid being reminded of this existential connundrum, Jotaro just decided not to use Time Stop unless he really needed it which was almost never.

Also an interesting continuation for this would be that Part 4 Jotaro only stopped time for 2 seconds, kind of as if to say "I can stop time, but I hate using it, so I'll just use it sparingly." It makes sense if you see it that way

My guess is that he just didn't had any reason to be using it. Why would he? A lot of people in real life would probably use time stop all the time for their own benefit, but Jotaro wouldn't be using his power to take advantage of people or daily situations. He most likely would only use it in an absolute emergency.

Bro part 6 jotaro had to face pucci with batman levels of prep time on him, fighting a stand which is absolutly broken (only getting beaten out by stands that have power that is just on a different level of bullshit) and if it wasnt for him targeting jolyne, he would of gotten his head turned into soup. Not enough people understand how absolutely overprepared pucci was and despite everything, he was only a few steps away from caving in the guys head who is beyond infinitly fast. Around 5:00 That's not how power scaling works in JoJo. If person A beat person B and person B beat person C, person A isn't necessarily stronger than person C. Jotaro didn't get a rage boost that amplified his power, he just used all of his innate strength to destroy The World, this doesn't mean he's stronger than DIO, it just means Star Platinum's strength stat is higher than The World's durability stat; if DIO didn't summon The World right then and there and just took the hit he would just eventually regenerate because Jotaro didn't use the sun or hamon, he would have won. Jotaro was only able to kill The World, not DIO himself. if the stand dies the user dies too so this had to happen this way. This is also why Jotaro is NOT "power creeped" by Made in Heaven, he could have ended Pucci in stopped time but he chose to save Jolyne instead. Of course he wouldn't have been able to know when to stop time without the help of Anasui but it's not impossible. Koichi's Echoes Act 3 would beat Made in Heaven, there's no such thing as power creep.

Honestly, if anything, it means the people over time know how to prepare for the legend that is Jotaro and the reason Kira didn’t is because he likes his lifestyle and would never bother to actively make countermeasures against Jotaro. It's directly stated in guidebooks that Star Platinum surpasses The World in destructive power and techniques. *"With overwhelming destructive power and techniques that surpassed even The World, it buried countless formidable enemies!"* (JoJoveller) Additionally, The World and Star Platinum have clashed directly with their fist, Jotaro overpowering him. Ontop of that, It's directly stated in JoJoveller that he did get a rage amp. *1. "In the face of DIO's invincible Stand he initially stood no chance, but his anger allowed him to grow rapidly."* *2. "Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of Star Platinum is its ability to grow."* Furthermore, You yourself literally admitted: "He wouldn't of known when to stop time without Anasui." He's not beating MIH in a 1v1 with no outside help He's consistently blitzed on THREE separate occasions (Meta's left out where Anasui saves him by pulling him up to the roof) And again, Araki himself even believes that MIH was the pinnacle of his power system at that time. So regardless of how you want to loophole it, MIH was created to surpass Star Platinum in a fight.

One thing I never get is: WHY, and I mean, WHY do people latch on the Part 3 timestop so much to say that Jotaro got weaker. Like, I get it, 5 seconds to 0,5 is A LOT worse, but we've ever SEEN him use that timestop ONCE, right at the end of the part. For the rest of the part, what was he doing? Oh yeah, fighting WITHOUT A TIMESTOP. When people even say "But why didn't he use it in that 10 years between parts 3 and 4" need I remind you that for ALL fights besides the END of the LAST one, he didn't??

He didn't know he had the ability till the end of part 3, so the assumption Is it's now part of his kit and will be used more often since didn't know he had it like with any new main ability ever. not much of a need for it so he got comfortable and got rusty in time . I always figured he would reach dios level at least he don't know the specific tim;e but he knows dios stand was significantly better but vampire boost maybe was needed to break that 5 second a barrier but its just weird because Dio in one day doubled his time basically, and 10 years of practice can't even match but he got comfortable so it is what is. have a nice day.

@@atrckr-bf7de It’s implied in part 6 that time stop takes some amount of stamina to use consistently, as Jotaro mentions he needs to breathe before stopping time again on top of being used to use the ability (peak humans seem to stop at 5 sec). While a vampire like DIO should have no such limit and as such should be able to train the ability indefinitely. DIO’s body is working against him as well as him doubling his time stop came from gaining more Joestar blood allowing him to better control his body.

This is gonna be long asf. I think Jotaro was not really weaker, and he was not nerfed either. Let's admit it, Araki sort of backed himself into a corner with Jotaro's writing and had to UNDERUTILIZE his ability in order to make the other characters shine in Part 4, and ESPECIALLY Part 6. Jotaro pretty much peaked in Part 3 cause obviously that was his part, he was the powerhouse of the group and bludgeoned his way throughout Part 3 until DIO. Notice how in Part 3, Star Platinum was wayy more aggressive and wild, he was a loose cannon. He put holes in DIO, after caving his skull open. In Part 4, you can say that Jotaro matured hence Star Platinum felt "weaker", but in reality he was less aggressive and more neutral which I find complimented Jotaro's maturity and mentor figure in DiU. Let's not forget, Jotaro was the reason that Kira admittedly developed Bites The Dust, all it took to incapacitate Kira was a single punch from Star Platinum (a dying Jotaro on top of that) the beatdown was just the icing on the cake and Kira was never the same after that encounter. In the manga, when Koichi and Josuke was up against Red Hot Chili Pepper, Koichi stated that RHCP was technically moving at the speed of light and that only Jotaro would be able to keep up with it, especially with Time Stop. Then you got the RAT episode, I believe this is one of the best examples of Jotaro being underutilized. How? Well, Jotaro could have used his stand to Leap towards the rat, or just use Star Platinum's Precision to to hit the Rat behind the rocks.. But WAIT! They couldn't even see the rat!! Well that's the thing, he could have used Star Platinum's eyesight, he literally used it to see 2 miles across the desert in part 3. And before he brought Joseph along in Part 4, he was also shown using this ability to look across the ocean. But he didn't. So it's safe to say he was guiding Josuke to handle pressure, and besides it's the smartest thing to do. Distract the rat because josuke can just heal you anyway.. Part 6? That's a whole story. Remember Star Platinum's self-preservation? Dude literally protected Jotaro across Part 3, and even Part 4 when Angelo's stand tried to sneak up on Jotaro. So why couldn't Star Platinum just deck Whitesnake when he was coming up behind Jotaro? EASY, so that the entirity of Stone Ocean can happen. It's been shown that Star Platinum is still active whether Jotaro is conscious or not. Remember when one of the Speedwagon Employee tried to touch Jotaro's hat while he was in a Coma? Star Platinum activated and punched a glass to carve Jolyne's name in his forearm. It's not just Physical Strength, Speed, and Precision that makes a basic ass stand like Star Platinum pretty great, it's his passive and complementing abilities that make him even more dangerous. Honestly, Jotaro could have ended Stone Ocean during C-Moon arc. He stopped time, saved Jolyne out of bullet's way, and then Decked Pucci flying towards the glass panel, while Jotaro usually holds back towards his opponents, THIS was not a great moment and reason to do that. Pucci meant harm and already gave Jotaro a lot of reasons to Kill him. Yet he didn't! There is a lot of scenarios where someone could have done something else according to their experience and abilities and it would change the entire course of the story. Unfortunately, Araki suffered from inconsistency throughout the entire seasons and primarily backed himself into a corner when writing some of his characters because of this fact.

I always took the Sheer Heart Attack case as its own innate stand hax of "this automatic stand cannot be destroyed by physical means beyond its own detonation, only impeded", hence why Jotaro could only damage it and not fully break it apart. Even so, the fact that he withstood a hit from it and kept on chugging for a bit just shows how tough he still was

Wasn't the "shortened timestop" one of the most obvious parts of Made in Heaven arc? I mean, Made in Heaven's whole idea is to change speed of time flow by affecting the gravity. It's like in Interstellar, for people on Earth(with "x2" gravity) 2 minutes equals to 1 minute for people in a space rocket(with "x" gravity). I like the low tier fan theory that Jotaro's actual stand power is simply copying other stand powers, but since he never thought to use it in that way and only made the assumption with Dio, he doesn't realise he has that power in full. Obviously, not canon and all that, but it would be the easiest way to maintain that Jotaro is and will always be the strongest stand user. Of course, I'd love to see Araki actually write a power copy character at some point. It's always just so fun seeing characters like that in other media, but knowing Araki, he'd probably feel like a power copying character is too uninspired, but I'd still like to see his take on it. Also this video makes me fantasise about an alternate sequel part to Part 6 where Jotaro killed Pucci instead of trying to save Jolyne. Maybe Jotaro goes on a search through a ruined world to find someone with the ability to resurrect his daughter, but because fate is such a powerful force in JoJo, his mission is a resounding failure as resurrection just isn't a thing in JoJo. Could even make Jotaro the antagonist, using the stand arrows to make more stand users quickly. Have Shizuka be the protag or something. Maybe Joseph taught her some Hamon so she can end the universe with a power system the universe started with, but with stands still the focus of course. It might be good for a motif of "healing" too. Shizuka will beat Jotaro not with a fight but with love. And maybe we can have the universe feel "corrupted" too, afterall, with Fate being so powerful a force, Fate is _not_ happy that Jotaro picked Pucci over Jolyne as was fated to happen and got ignored. We could use universe glitches from broken fate to explain things like Jotaro losing his good boy nature (maybe even remove the birthmark), and just making things truly bizarre in this broken world, a final bizarre adventure to end the universe on. And of course, it could even parallel the audience. Wanting to bring back the dead, wanting the original universe to continue when it's finished and reached its end, it's the same thing.

I think Justice only scales past Anubis because there are a lot of conditions to Anubis' ability. Anubis as a stand only gets faster as the fight goes on, not the user. Justice works by taking advantage of any wounds on the body. I definitely believe that it would be made easier when Justice has literal armies at its disposal and has such little margin for error. It's as easy as a pinprick to completely nullify the user.

Jotaro literally got STRONGER until his death in part 6, as evidenced by being able to stop time for more seconds each later part he made an appearance. It's just that Araki got better and better at making powerful Stands by the time Stone Ocean came out, that made him feel "weaker" in comparison if you're not looking at it right

I always had this headcanon that Jotaro's stand was fueled by anger. Case in point, in part 3, being an always angry teen basically meant that Star Platinum was essentially overclocked in the entire run, doubly so when Dio REALLY angered him. In parts 4 and 6 on the other hand, he was a more collected and calm adult, relying more in wits than raw strength, so Star Platinum didn't seem as powerful as in 3, except in the instances in which he was, again, angry AF. What I'm saying is that Star Platinum wasn't nerfed in any way, but instead we saw him running at his base power in 4 and 6; it's just that in part 3 he was running at maximum overdrive due to constant anger.

Seperate from yeah, Made In Heaven being a more powerful, wasn't it obvious Jotaro just got outsmarted? He could either beat Pucci, or save Jolyne, he couldn't do both, and in the end his indecision lead him to fail both. I've never viewed part 6's fight as a matter of power creep, and in general JoJo had never been about who's stronger but about outsmarting your opponent and their abilities to land a decisive blow. Conversations like this are fun but it doesn't feel like it fits within the vibe of Jojo

Jotaro doesn't get weaker so much as everyone else gets stronger, the biggest weakness, if you could even call it that, of jotaro after part 3, is that he doesn't continue to further the growth of his stand, if he had he might have been able to use time stopped as well as dio, if not eventually even better. Basically Jotaro after part 3 is the embodiment of if you don't use it you lose it, since post Dio he really wouldn't have much need or use for time stop, so overtime it would start to get weaker, that said he may not have used the ability of star Platinum so time stop got worse, but that doesn't mean he didn't use star Platinum, meaning that could be why it's physical stats hadn't changed

I think the reason why jotaro didn't bother to use he's time stop was because he's already a unit, basically the time stop ability is just a cherry on top
