@@rizes7330 Well yeah part of Bethesda's game support loop is a couple major DLCs and a few smaller DLCs to provide engagement as they get mod tools ready for modders to just do the rest for them. Just look at Creation Club, legit just gave the modders the reigns for "new DLC".

The best high quality video preview I have seen of this potentially exciting title.. thanks for the impressive amount of work it has taken to produce this authoritative work; I am especially glad that you do not speak at 'ten to the dozen' ludicrous speed like many game reviewers...plain well spoken, measured pace and at 48 minutes enough time to comprehensively form an understanding of the content and direction of this game in development. It looks fabulous so far, but after the CB 2077 debacle, I really hope that this lives up to its promise when we see the final release. The support for modding is a huge positive point. My Skyrim game has more than 300 mods and it has greatly extended the enjoyment for me for a long time beyond the vanilla lifespan.

this games looks like a carbon copy of Empyrion - Galactic Survival, its a fun game with a lot better building system(bases-ships-hovers-capital class etc...). even better since starfield apparently need to go to menu to enter planets which would be annoying.

At first I was going to say that all this information was revealed in the youtube videos that Bethesda put out ever since they revealed the gameplay video. But after watching this preview I have to say I love how you add extra info and your opinion on top of that to give us potential ideas how Bethesda might change design aspects of the game and else we might expect. Nicely done! I cannot wait for Starfield as this is literally the space game I have always wanted. I would have loved it if Starfield was an MMO, but for that I guess we still have Star Citizen to look forward too.

I don't think people are seeing how 1000 planets can work. First of all, this is a Bethesda RPG. There will most likely be 100s of hours from side content alone. No matter how empty some of these planets are, you're still going to get 100s of hours from questing. Now, here's how I think the planets will work: 1000 planets. Remember how you had hundreds of locations to discover in Skyrim? Now take that, and spread that across all the planets in Starfield. You still get the same amount of handcrafted locations, but they're not densely packed on one map. A design choice by Bethesda to perhaps capture the emptiness of space. These planets' terrain will be procedural generated, that is not a negative, if Bethesda still go over small spaces of each planet, and adds a quest or an interesting location. Now how are we supposed to find these handcrafted locations on seemingly empty planets? In the trailer, there were prompts to scan planets. This maybe allows the player to highlight points of interest on planets for the player to discover. You land on the planet and explore Bethesda's handcrafted location. You perhaps find an abandoned research facility, a crimson fleet base, a colony of people from the freestar collective? This still captures Skyrim's feeling of exploration, as you explore the galaxy, travelling from system to system finding Bethesda's iconic locations that add to the world building.

I have some hesitation with the scan and explore route. Most of the excitement for me personally in Fallout/ Skyrim was adventuring and stumbling into insane locations. If the major way to find these locations now is to be told "look here", that definitley stunts some of the shock value. That being said, I'm sure they will have some fun sneaky surprises to the tune of "search this boring cargo container" that ends up being some massive underground base.

Actually really looking forward to this game! A game in space to explore and do combat, without others players ruining the gameplay! I loved Elite Dangerous but the monstrous grind to do anything became to much for me after almost 2 years of playing! I also like Star Citizen but having others players make your life miserable at any turn actually is a bit unfair for me. This game seems to be the best of both worlds! Great job explaining the game, that to me seems you covered almost everything!👍👍

ED is nice to play, but way too grindy for my tastes. And Star Citizen is beautiful, but the way PvP works makes it just an RPG-like version of EVE. Which is not good. The fact that you can be griefed at *any point* is stupid, and a huge downer for SC. Also the fact that you can lose your items for PvP interactions in SC is another massive drag. Starfield looks great to me so far though, just off the previews and information we have available.

No Man's Sky has VR support, you can actually fly down into a planet, multiplayer, quests, scanning a planets resources, prirates, owning a starship fleet. This game has better has some grade A+ content.

Main quest: locate and collect fragments. Grey moral plot: you have to deprive other factions their fragments (future) for your own gain. They say that pirates only way out is through death so you feel less hesitant to just go in and massacre them.

I believe all landscapes for Bethesda games are procedurally generated with touchups. I expect that to be true for large swaths of land in starfield as well

I currently play Elite Dangerous, which I think to be an awesome game with an endless huge sandbox to explore. Downside you can't enter atmosphere planets like Earth. And only now are you able to fight outside the ship (3rd person). Whole Starfield looks good I'm really hoping that Starfield doesn't disappoint.

To me it was pretty clear zenimax was attempting to make Bethesda look as profitable as possible for the sale to Microsoft. For me I’m not worried about it and 200k lines of dialogue which is 89k lines more than Fallout 4 and that games protagonist takes a chunk of those dialogue lines with Starfield having no voiced protagonist tells me there’s going to be a lot of content. I also will point out Bethesda gets full creation of Starfeilds lore where their Fallout IP was already established so the lore will be more like the elder scrolls but of course in the sci fi context rather than fantasy and magic. So I’m not worried like so many others

A lot of people just aren’t using their brains. Bethesda cannot give you a life size planet of handcrafted content. Not even 1. These worlds are not like our earth, not even the ones with the capital cities. Humanity faced some cataclysm that’s why we left earth and then we got into a civil war. Our numbers are reduced, and we are spread out over several solar systems divided into two main factions. So most of the settled systems won’t be inhabited by complex human civilization. This is a game in space that is much more frontier like. Man has just recently left his home world. This is not Mass Effect with tons of fully developed alien civilizations and mankind.

@@xlZENlx yep as a morrowind player of almost 20 years now, that's still one of my favorite things about the game. the spell system still hasn't been topped in any way to my knowledge either. it's caused me to make a mission for my first game as a game designer to base the magic system off of morrowind's. it deserves to be explored much more. i still learn new tricks and things about the magic system that i have either completely forgotten over time, or never knew (learned a lot of new stuff from people on the tes3mp server, especially). that's the kind of depth that video games today are completely devoid of and it drives me nuts

Great preview. There is a lot of future potential for this game to actually go on "forever" with only 50 LY of the "Known Settlements". How exploration beyond the Known Settlements is handled will be on every players mind once all the stuff in the Known Settlements have been done. I am not too put off by not being able to manually guide your ship to the surface since it looks like you can land where you want on the explorable planets/moons and what not. Hopefully there isn't another delay in 2023 and we hear an official date sometime early to mid 2023 of when it'll launch.

Tie Fighter, Squadrons, Star Citizen, etc), but in this game with bars (units), the total amount of bars is shown, in this video its 0/18 - meaning theres no more units but... theres space for more than 18! (42:53) upgradable to at least the double, meaning this ship has its limit or maybe you could upgrade it , wow

The problem with the size of the game is we won't run in to much environmental story telling like we did in past games. That's a very big part of a Bethesda game and the one of the main reasons to explore. So all these planets will go unexplored as a result because there is no story in the environment.

It is something that these developers are forced to do or be attacked, which shows the tolerance of adult children like 4badlisting. Kingdom Come Deliverance was the best game of the year when it was released, but it got very little attention outside of constant attacks about diversity. Seems these pronouns are very low effort that has 0 relevancy on the gameplay...plus you KNOW modders will throw in an attack helicopter pronoun which will be funny as hell.

This does look like a very interesting game and I'm liking the look of it. I do find this video very informative, especially in what to expect and what to do, and what can be done. I do wonder about the spaceflight, like if there will be a need to slow down the ship before stopping. I did notice the landing thrusters, so I'm wondering if those do work as space-brakes. And then there is whether there's artificial gravity, I did notice zero g or microgravity in the video. I do wonder if the ship itself generates any through acceleration. Although, there is the gravity drive, so it could be that too, I'm guessing! But yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing this game
