ULTIMATE STEALTH GUIDE
When it comes to Far Cry, one of the most rewarding ways to play has always been to stay as sneaky as possible, at least before all hell breaks loose. Thankfully, Far Cry 6 is no exception, but there are some stealth tactics - quite a few in fact - that the game just doesn’t tell you about. And that’s where this video comes in. So, if you’re looking for some hints that might keep you from blowing your cover, I hope you’ll join me as I cover 16 essential stealth tips for Far Cry 6.
Before we begin, here’s a fun fact. Of all of my viewers, only around 4% are actually subscribed to my channel. Chain two assassinations together
Ok, this one came as a surprise to me once I discovered it, but like in past Far Cry games, you can chain two stealthy assassinations together, even without any special gear equipped. Problem is, the game doesn’t tell you this, at least not that I found, so players who are new to Far Cry, or just haven’t played a Far Cry game for a long time, might never find this maneuver. Basically, if you sneak up behind two enemies, do your normal machete takedown on the one closest to you. Then, if you’re playing with a gamepad, use your left analogue stick to face the second enemy, and when you see the prompt, press and hold the right trigger to execute the second enemy with a throwing knife. Now, if you equip the Prisoner’s Wrap, you can do a version of this that uses the enemy’s pistol instead of a throwing knife, but if it’s not suppressed, well, there goes your stealth, so I prefer the regular old chain assassination.
Equip the best gear for stealth
Equipping the right gear is essential for stealth, but the single most helpful piece of gear I’ve found are the dark tech boots. These let you move just as fast while crouched as you do while standing, which basically lets you catch up to patrolling enemies from behind without making a sound, and it means you won’t have to stay out in the open for quite as long. If you haven’t already found a pair, you can purchase the dark tech boots from the Bandidos Barracks once you’ve upgraded it. Also worth noting here is that the entire Dark Tech line of gear, from the Dark Tech hoodie, to the Dark Tech pants and so on...they’re all good for stealth. I also like the Trapper Cap, which increases the amount of time I can hold my breath while aiming the bow, and the Parkour Shorts, which give Dani a boost of speed after she slides. If you didn’t know, even if you’re out in the open, sliding is a great way to evade an enemy’s line of sight if they’re about to detect you. I’m pretty sure all this gear is purchasable at the Bandidos Barracks, at least after you upgrade it, but if not, a quick google search should turn up their locations.
Use the right weapons
Ok, so what about weapons? Well, to each their own, but here are the weapons I prefer for stealth. In the earlier game, the Yaran SR-A sniper rifle was (and actually still is) my favorite for long-distance kills. Granted, I modded it with the American Suppressor and the Large Sniper Scope, which allows me to zoom in. I did mention this in my previous video, but for anybody who didn’t watch, I found this rifle in an FND cache at the first checkpoint I cleared in the opening area of the game as part of the main story. Plus, I think you can buy it once you add the Guerilla Garrison to your Guerilla camp.

Yep that works, but after watching this video I tried EMP arrows and relaized that baddies don't get alerted from it, while a damaged alarm does in some cases. Also any silenced weapon is louder than an arrow, so sometimes they heard the shot, while EMP they don't, even if it's louder for us the player.

I play mainly stealth and here are my tactics for the entire game. 1. Always use a silencer. 2. Sniper rifles are fine, but inconsequential. Get a semi auto AR and an SMG. Use armor piercing bullets. 3. Mid firing rate SMG with a silencer. Armor piercing bullets. 4. Always put the best silencer and sight on the AR first. 5. Use the radar to start scanning for people. Use phone first and then scan with your AR. Tag everyone. 6. Watch walking patterns. 7. Get good with headshots. 8. That is it. I have been using the same AR/SMG/LMG/Sidearm for most of the game and will simply remove people from the game from a reasonable distance. Also 9. Once you get the wingsuit use it to get above buildings and open the parachute so you land on the building. You can tag 90% of people and take them out without ever being noticed.

I love using perception grenades to tag everything around big buildings, it tags through walls with a pretty wide range.

As far as the best piece of equipment goes, for me it's the prisoner's scarf (face bandana) that lets you do takedown machete kills on _alert_ enemies. You can just run around stabbing everyone to death, and it's also great for stealth because let's say you turn a corner and run into a guard, normally that might be an alert, but with this you just kill as you normally would in stealth. The dark tech boots are great, but it's hard for me to give up the parkour shoes that let you run around super fast, combine that with the pants that let you go faster after a slide, and you're crazy fast.

A small correction. The "Triada" quest is not given to you by default. You have to enter the triada cave, located on the intro-island, near the Guerilla camp. Once you enter and reach a specific point in the cave you can then activate the quest.

Moving corpses isn't really necessary. Enemies don't ring the alarm when they find a body, they just look around.

The Amigo Boom Boom is super stealthy. He can walk around tagging enemies without triggering alarms. Just for fun I had him completely clear an FND base killing all the enemies by himself. Hes most effective when attacking from behind.

Get the Desert Eagle sidearm early, upgrade it with scope and silencer and it can take down any enemy with a head shot so that you no longer need a sniper rifle, opening up a slot for another weapon.

Try increasing movement speed and number of throwing knives then wear tech gloves that lock onto enemy heads when throwing knives or axes. You can run around silently killing everything. If you run up to the victim you'll pick up the knife you just threw

As to the Triada quest, the one on the north end of the map in the creepy old fort, you need to break the last mirror in the room...all the others break when you walk by them. There's a button to interact with behind that last mirror.

EMP weapons make it easy to recover military vehicles with minimal damage. They take down helicopters faster than an RPG, then you can fly them to your base so you can call them up as your own. Using them to take over a Tank and turn the tide of a fight is simply OP. Extremely under rated.

@@montanadash20 I find EMP rounds on a Bow works best when you are trying to recover a military vehicle for yourself. It does the least damage to the vehicle itself while still disabling it. Then you can run up and hijack.

One of the better videos on Far Cry 6 tips I've seen. Although I think you missed an opportunity to mention Predator Bait. Especially given that you used a baseball to distract a guard closer to an animal cage. (Which still a great tip, btw.) Predator Bait is unlocked by trading in 10 damaged animal meat when upgrading any Supremo. Easy to get. Along with attracting a predator animal to distract and kill guards (or lure enemy dogs), throwing the bait works the same way as throwing a baseball too. Enemy soldiers will inspect a noise where you throw the bait same as throwing a baseball. When the animal shows up it can kill enemies while causing other enemies in the area to go check out what's going on; all while you sit there and plan your attack unnoticed or sneak in to grab a chest, disable an alarm, or complete optional objectives. Worth noting that the bait does not always attract an animal, (It will give a notification on screen saying as much.) and just like freeing an animal from a cage you will have to worry about the predator attacking you unless you deal with it first. (Poison is amazing for killing animals.) On the note of poison... also a great tactic for stealth. You can hit a few soldiers and watch them kill each other and eventually die themselves. Same as predators, great for distractions and clearing areas unnoticed. Also, when you first apply poison to soldiers they are vulnerable for a few seconds while they cough it out. I usually just walk up to them and machete them down. Great for saving ammo too.

Perception grenades are great for stealth, they will auto tag any enemy within a certain radius, so usually two or three of these will light up every enemy on even the biggest of bases, I've only run into a few that needed more. I keep these as part of every loadout for every Supremo. I don't currently know of any other way to tag all enemies, you can use the head piece that lets you tag enemies through walls, and that is great, but sometimes it misses an enemy here and there. My advice, use both if you really want to make sure you know where every enemy is.

I love playing stealth in these games. Currently i use an assault rifle with silencer and 2 optics, one on top and one on the side. I use this gun on single shot to pick off targets from close and when i am spotted. Only aim for headshots. And a silenced sniper for picking off targets from far away. Stealth is very easy in FC 6. And take the amigo Boomer or the Panther with you. Boomer tags enemies and the panther can assassinate soldier and their body disappears. Maybe not very stealth, but very useful when you are discovered by a helicopter. A LMG with blast ammo melts every vehicle except tanks.

Tip: turn off the HUD, everything except ammo counter and health bar. This mimics the minimalist HUD from FC2 and it's incredible how instantly it makes the game 100% more immersive. Not being able to see enemies thru walls makes creeping around a base a nerve wracking experience. I highly recommend trying it for an hour, do one base infiltration with the stripped down HUD, see the difference it makes.

funny thing with the super charger shotgun. You describe that you found it because you found a button and pressed it. I fond it the other way around. i Found the containers, and noticed that they looked a bit odd. By ionspecting them closer, i saw that one of the containers was still hooked up to a crane, and figured out that the crane neede to be activated, it took a few minutes untill I found the control room.

I would also say the Oluwa backpack and weapon are perfect for taking out helicopters in stealth. It’s the only weapons that shoots straight through the helicopter to hit the driver. I do agree it is a little OP but I only use it for helicopters or if my stealth mission fails.

I've tested out and done everything you have mentioned in this video, except for the chain kill with throwing knives, because I haven't found the right key to press (I'm on PC), after sneaking up to and killing the first enemy... Actually the best stealth weapon is the 50 cal Desert Eagle pistol you get when you complete the Treasure Hunt, "Last One To Leave", reason being, it is the only pistol with a high powered telescopic sight. Properly configured with the rectangular suppressor over the round suppressor for increased handling capability. It is quiet enough you can clear entire compounds using armor piercing rounds for head shots and alarm disabling, best weapon in the game for stealth.

Proximity nades can lead to a SUPER quick and slick stealth run if used carefully. I tend to throw them at a high arc, hopefully landing far enough away from any enemies that could be aggrod by it, if not outside of the base entirely

You leave out the ACTUAL chain takedowns, where you press Left Stick toward the next enemy while assassinating the first. In your baseball example with 3 guards, you could have chained the 2nd and THEN done the R2 knife throw for the 3rd, making a full on 3kill combo.

Nice tips but you didn’t mention Oluso the panther amigo you gain from the relic cave while she’s a tad OP when she performs cloaked kills her victims disappear so no need to hide bodies. I say shes OP because you can often clear most FND bases as long as there’s a path to the enemy. On the downside you can miss out on the loot especially with animal kills. If you equip the Scrounger wrist gear you can loot bodies from a distance which you should use if you use this amigo. IMO, she’s the best amigo in the game and tailored to stealth players.

If you need animals combine the gear you wear for more animal parts and also the food buff one and you'll get around 7 pieces of meat from each animal. Then you can kill 5 of the same animal and have 30+ meats from it to cook with later. Saves some time.

IMO the best combo is Prisoner's Scarf, Dark Tech Hoodie, Parkour Shorts, Parkour Kicks, and Dark Tech Gloves. The reduce movement noise gear is dumb, you are a lot quieter at base than it appears. Being able to crouch faster is fine but you can honestly just walk up to them most of the time and do a takedown before the detection meter fills. Beyond this the only other gear I find useful are Angler's Sandals to swim faster, Scrounger Jeans (when in a vehicle), Primal Mask (for hunting), Parkour Strap (for exploring), Rioter Gloves (for helicopters), and then the rest of the fishing gear for fishing. Improving defense or any of that bullshit is honestly worthless to me, even if you go guns blazing you don't need this if you know how to hide and pick your fights with good weapons.

I found that dark tech boots make any movement noise reducing gear obsolete. In fact I use the prisoner's pants which boost my noise levels and soldiers never turn around so long as I stay crouched.

One of best best play styles is 1 - Supressed AR 2 - Compound Bow 3 - Suppressed Sniper And Triado supremo along with Oluso. Since I stay mostly with steal the sniper is for long range kills and the bow for close range kills while in the actual base and thats where the supremo comes in useful, since the triado basically tags all nearby enemies and oluso comes in very useful for stealth kills.

I forgot what it's called, but there's a head piece that will refund ammunition on headshot kills. There's a weapon mod I put either on all my weapons (guaranteed on my .50BMG), or on my backpack that allows me to increase headshot damage on first bullet when reloaded. So, fire off one sniper round out of earshot or sight from enemies, reload, and you have a permenant buff for as long as you're getting headshot kills. There's various other mods that increase damage when at a higher elevation than enemies, and overall buffs to silenced weapons, so if you're consistantly hitting headshots you can stack massive damage buffs

For stealth: Desert Eagle pistol as your silenced sniper weapon, Oluso, AP rounds for the alarms and one shot headshots, prioritize the officer in charge because he can still call reinforcements with his flare gun, and use those scouting laptops to get a layout of the base. For loud and proud: RMS 18 shotty with buckshot pellet rounds, The resolver called pyrotechno (fully upgraded) and dynamite, c-4, and emp grenades as your gadgets. Clothing and food buffs are just first world luxuries so wear what you like...I usually go for items that boost movement speed and eat dishes that increase the amount of gadgets or ammo. Literally nothing in the game you can't handle easily with the above equipment

to be honest, the only time i mess up is when an alarm is set off or an officer calls for back up, i can use a soldiers gunshots as a distraction for grenade kills or i can use grenades to move the soldiers back giving more breathing room to help me come up with a plan B incase i happen to screw up if more than one soldier spots me

I'm only a few hours in so I didn't notice the melee fix however I did notice sometimes when I jumped on an enemy expecting to do an air takedown like in previous games got a shock when nothing happened lol. How can you not mention the absolute best gadget in the game? The perception grenade is basically a cheat code when it comes to tagging enemies you can't quite get to. Just toss it in the general direction of the big red vague areas in the mini map and every enemy will pop up on the map. It pulses a large radius every few seconds for a good long time, so it can even detect enemies moving into the pulses. Plus, it doesn't alert guards unless you hit them directly with the grenade.

When it comes to stealth in general Far Cry 6 beats it's predecessors big time. Played far Cry 6 and stealth gameplay is paramount there due to the fact that you're playing guerilla, and what's guerilla without stealth.

My tactics for the entire game is simple and I don't need to tag all enemies or use snipers. I just burst through the entrance with MS16 and equipped silencer and headshot every one of them (without being noticed)

Overall good tips but not perfect. things to add: 1. Use the grenades that mark enemies. They are extremeley helpful and replace the syringes from the former Far Cry games. 2. When it comes to chain takedowns, you can just chain normal takedowns as long as there are enemies nearby for melee takedowns. WIth this strat you can chain kill multiple targets and end the chain with a throwing knife kill or pistol takedown to get rid of Soldados that are further away. Just face in the direction of the next victim to do the chain kills you don't even have to press the takedown button again. Also if you have a guard neaby that you want to kill with a throwing knife takedown just press LS on controller (don't know what to press on PC) to drag the killed guard and face in the direction of the next target press RT to throw the knife. 3. Boomer is extremely helpful in stealth, because he marks enemies nearby. Oluso is extremely helpful, because he can stealth kill and the body will dissappear. 4. You can shoot armored alarms with bullet piercing rounds. 5. try to get the captain of the outpost first to get his key card. In every base there is a main power supply that let you disable all alarms and cameras at once. 6. If you combine the Dark Tech boots with the prisoner trouser you can crouch even faster. When crouched there are no noises at all even with the prisoner trouser. 7. Look for Snipers first. Most of them can be killed from long range and they will not be found by other guards, because they are on high ground. 8. If you restart an autosave you will still loose all the ammo and items you have used. Be aware of that. 9. Use the Sniper gloves for no weapon sway at all. Works for every weapon, even bows. You don't even have to hold breath anymore. 10. For sniping walking Soldados don't try to aim at the Soldado. Just look where he or she will go aim there and shoot when they arrive. You will miss far lesser shots with this strat.

Does the EMP arrow trigger the guards though if they see the broken alarm like when you shoot it with a gun? A lot of locations have multiple alarms and just like a dead body alerts the guards, so does a destroyed alarm box. Soldiers can spot dead bodies from farther away than they can spot you sneaking. I have sniped a guy in the middle of the road, had the body spotted, and snuck up and picked the body up and walked away without them spotting me. I did have improved stealth on my Supremo. You can stealth kill over a low wall, fence, bush... and it will drag the body over the wall to your side. I wish it would drop bodies off ledges or over walls easier. Typically they just drop right in front of you. When you UMP a helicopter that is fairly close to the ground it will not explode. Typically passengers will stay in the back, but the pilot and copilot will usually get out. Always put AP on a sniper rifle... ALWAYS. My favorite sniper rifle is the SVD with AP ammo, silencer and scope with Improved reload times and head shots reward bonus Supremo recharge. I put the same recharge on the Supremo with stealth and extra Supremo mage. It recharges fast that way. I typically just use the Exterminator Supremo and it is the easiest way to take out a helicopter. If you want a good rifle for run and gun after stealth has failed then and do not like chewing through ammo with a full auto gun, try the MS16L with AP ammo, a scope and pointer as high as you can get it... and a compensator. It is a loud gun, but is incredibly accurate hip fired or scope fired and with a enlarged magazine it holds 20 rounds and extra body damage lets you drop a lot of targets with 2 shots to the body (or one to the head). It is semi auto and fires as fast as you can click the button. Since it is not full auto the base damage is almost double that of the typical full auto rifles and even light machineguns. I like running around with the with the Parkour set and the Injector Supremo with extra speed. You trigger that backpack and you will run crazy fast. I have also found just lifting the sprint for half a second recharges a lot of stamina. I like using the Scavenger set 90% of the time because it helps find and pick up loot and ammo and when scanning you can see loot and cache locations through walls. The biggest part though is it repairs vehicles while you are in them. This can be huge at times. This makes you almost impossible to kill in a tank. When I am in a tough area I will sometimes put on the Sniper set, but typically I just stick with the Scavenger.

the amigo oluso is op for stealth. i use the Triador supremo to reveal all enemies and oluso to kill them all. best thing is that the triador and oluso unlocks on the same mission.

to anyone watching in 2023 there is a peice of headwear thats based off the mechanical eye in farcry blood dragon (dont remember if you have to have dlc or not) that is really good as it scans all nearby enemys when you get a machete kill and the range is like really really good for "nearby enemys"

😂 I’m on my second play through right now after finishing this game for the first time last week. It’s weird to hear you say “she” when referring to Dani, as I’ve only played as the male version. I’ll prob play as the female version on my next play through. This was a great video. I knew most of this stuff after my first play through, but there’s a couple things I never figured out until this. Didn’t know about the chain assassinations or the aerial kills. Good looking out.

Can I counter somehow explosion damage when in a car? In the last couple of days I died at least 5 times while I hit some barrel or explosive thing making me insta dead. It gets pretty annoying. It was not even in combat I was driving to some farm house or scrap yard and accidentaly hit green/yellow barrel and car exploded insta killing me. I wonder if some gear would prevent insta kill - I think it is because the vehicle exploded so the gear with resistance against explosives wont be much help? Only thing came to my mind was to carry the revive supremo...Thanks.
