Hello Crimson, Creator of Xeno Master here. it doesn't actually matter where you put Xeno Master in your load order. It shouldn't cause any problems since my mod makes absolutely no changes to the base game content at all. If Xeno Master needed to be legit somewhere, you can probably put it next to where other companions mods are usually installed. I mention under compatibility in the mod description where it should be fine with just about everything. If somehow people have issues, I would tell them to check their mod (index) count (see if they are getting close to the 110/90 mod limit). I also noticed the page for Xeno Master is outdated, but obviously that is a Creations/Bethnet related issue. With some of the people mention here in the comments, I cannot stress enough. Always read the mod description. I had people ask me questions (about Xeno Master) already answered in FAQs or in the literal mod description itself! Regardless great video, thanks for sharing with us.

The first rule of modding: always read the mod description. The second rule of modding: Always read the mod description. It sounds obvious but you would be surprised how many people will see something cool looking instantly click download without thinking.

I still struggle, I'll read a mod description word for word and not understand the instructions that's why I have to look up videos like this and others and ask questions when I can.

I personally feel when it comes particularly to Starfield and anyone talking about mods that they really should try and properly explain to their viewers about the load order and how to properly setup their load order. So many players I’ve read in other comments on load order have problems on PC and Xbox with mods, crashes and not understanding how to organize the mods. I myself spend so much time scouring KZbin to find really proper detail video that explained how to properly understand and setup load your load order first mods. It then took me many hours to completely rearrange the entire mod list of around a 100 mods to get it setup right and still then fiddled with it a few more hours loading the game then back to fiddle with load order. At best, man you’d think Starfield would make this kinda thing automatically organized. Because you also do have to be mindful as you add mods later on to put it in its right place in load order so it don’t become a headache to reorganize. Understanding the “category” in the game of where a mod falls into was really important to understand and then where that category falls on the load list order. Category as in is this mod a UI mod, it is a Patches mod which goes to the top or loads first in order. Is this mod Gameplay related mod, is this mod Environmental which are close to the top, but well below Patches and anything UI related, but loads before Gear and Gameplay mods. That is what I’m trying to say in understanding which then he,ps you later if you add a new mod understanding where that goes in your entire list category of mods.

Couldn't agree more! Looking at these vids with mods I don't even use aren't helpful. Really simple, this type of mod goes in this category and this category goes here in the load order. Boom, done. Anything related to a Skyrim load order is not really viable for Starfield. Completely different.

Aren't patches the last things (or close to) that should be loaded? I've experimented a lot with Fallout and use generally the same load order style for Starfield and haven't really had any problems with it.
@ardentdfender41162 ай бұрын
@@GoldenLeafsMovies Patches are to load first. They affect every part of the game systems and need to be loaded first before any other mods to fix the issues.

@@ardentdfender4116 Are you referring to patches as in bug fixes cause whenever I download patches (for other mods) it mentions that they should be loaded last.
@ardentdfender41162 ай бұрын
@@GoldenLeafsMovies I play on PC and I only load mods from the creations store. There are two patches for the game itself in the creations store. The “Unofficial Starfield Patch” and the Starfield Community Patch” which are all bug fixed for the game as done by the mod community to fix the game bugs. Both these mods goes at the top of the list so as to load first and fix game issues before any other mods are loaded. In the description of the mods themselves, it tells you they are to be loaded first in mod list. I’m not sure what other patch you’re referring to. But it helps to read whatever description info of any other patch mod. I myself has both those mods installed and for a while now and I’ve had no issues and with over 100+ mods installed after that.

I've used Fallout 4 and Skyrims load orders as a guide at the same time for Starfield, and the experience has been mostly smooth. Where either is different, I guess my best.

Also, I place SKK below all my ship building mods, because it's not a building mod, it's a menu add on, so I have that above any mods that add to my menu in its own section.

Nice video. Iv been modding for a while and I got close to 150 mods between vortex and creations, but I could have used this video when I first started with creations Remember to always put updates on your calendar for whatever game you are modding. The day before an update comes out turn off all mods. Once the update comes out, start the game save and then try turning on mods a few at a time. This should save you some time on having to redownload everything for Starfield. However some mods will always have to be kept off until the author updates it to work with the new game version.

Nahw, every time i follow a youtubers instruction on load orders i have to reinstall my games. Had this happen with starfield too. I use my own random load order (except for the mods that clearly point out in the discription where to place them) and have about 3 a day. I use a "good" load order from youtube and i either crash after a second loading screen or just crash right away. Like a youtuber said i had to use the star wars aliens mod around 35% down the load order. Just completely removed the aliens wich said mod should have brought with. I place it exactly where the tuber tells me not to put it and it works like a charm.

I've just depended on recommended Fallout 4 load orders and try to fit how Starfield mods would work on it, never had a problem (though I haven't downloaded many mods (around 30 and not all of them are enabled) and don't download mods that tend to conflict/be unstable).

I play on xbox, when I want to put a new mod, or whatever, I enter the game, save the game, exit the game, delete Reserved Space, reset the console and reload the last save. Then the game asks me if I want to install all mods that were active. Then the game installs everything in its own order and arranges the mods, in 90% of cases everything works perfectly for me, every mod is active and I don't have any game crashes. So, if it could help someone, I would be glad, best regards 👍.

Sometimes the game rearanges the load order for me, it hasn't happened in a while but it's annoying when it does cause I have to move all the mods back into place.

It’s not putting them “in order” it just shuffles them around 😂 and when you delete them and it asks you if you want to re download then it just tries to put them back how you had it , it isn’t the creation club fixing the order

Timely and much appreciated CFB and thanks for the link. My current issue is the partially invisible NPCs and the odd looking structures (weird lighting from a distance) until you get right up to them. Are these mod load issues? And look , a lot of us who aren't computer experts just want a smooth playing game. So what you share does help. And if anyone has a thought about what I can do to fix the two issues above then that would be appreciated! Now..onto that Reddit Link!

The Community Patch is careful to not include unwanted changes. The Unofficial Patch is the one with the history Crimson mentions. Also be aware that the LOOT database doesn't have enough information in its database yet to be particularly useful. Be aware also that the BGS manager you have to use on console is not very reliable. It doesn't update mods correctly; you have to delete and redownload. It also has an issue of not remembering your load order. I have also seen it re-enable mods that you have disabled. Remember not to delete mods unless you are very confident that it is safe to do so. It can easily corrupt your save file.

Hello friend. I'm pretty sure you're aware by the time of this writing that it's been discovered that the Community Patch has unwanted changes as well.

And does anyone know how to fix the partially invisible NPC's walking around? I suspect it's maybe a clothing mod but not certain. If anyone had this problem and found a fix then I'd appreciate your reply. Thx! Addendum. The Star Wars Outfits for the main characters was the cause. I do have a couple of other clothing mods so it may have been some conflict with them or it could have been the mod itself. That load order list you posted is really helpful.

Save and quit, and then relaunch the game. Seems to be a visual bug tied to load order. Not everyone had the issue, and those that did found that they managed to make it go away permanently after rearranging stuff.

My only problem is that im around 120. And some mods in between the catalogs like Crafting or armor. the load orders don't show up in game. Even if i move stuff around. It either cause my first mod of crafting thats not working. Working. Then causes one of the other crafting mods to not show up anymore. I just wish we could have more then 120 working perfectly. And if only Bethesda has a way of making Catalogs list for us to put our stuff in. Or make an Auto generated load order to help us out

I think you hit the soft limit on mods. 100-110 plus same issue. Most of the mods I run are outfits, armor and ship building mods.
@willd75962 ай бұрын
It's not the number of mods. It's that most mods cause issues with each other and no one realizes it. Most mod makers for Starfield now are feeling in the dark. Many mods are made by people who are still learning. If you have more than 10-15 mods right now, as the new community is learning, things will break.
@MrAnarchyMarine2 ай бұрын
Not always. It could literally be a break in the order they're loading. Say you have a mod that adds to the leveled lists of a game, and say you have a house mod that comes with vendors. You want the leveled lists to go above any mods that add in vendors as the leveled lists are the thing those vendors are loading their supply from. Placing it above will break the leveled lists and your game. That's just one example of many. You gotta figure out where to place your mods, in relation to other mods.
@CmdrGarcia2 ай бұрын
How about all of the shipyard mods? Where do they go? Thats the problem with utilizing Skyrim LOs for the xbox users. Lot of us don't havebthe ability to load up on PC ro run a mod organizer. Does anyone have a stable load order guide that specifically addresses where we place ship mods and armor mods.

I would recommend looking up Fallout 4 load order since it seems to have similar quirks (settlement stuff). I tend to put starship stuff just below settlement mods (unless it's an overhaul mod in which case it goes up higher into what I would call "Core Gameplay" section).
