Nice to see someone taking the time to build a base that moves from the more linear build path to a more generally mixed display of your imagination [ as in the Fallout 4 settlement build ] I like using the cargo ship landing mechanics to enhance your cargo themed base and a good idea for an area to put the bed/ toilets. I have found there is a problem with the height of the basin/sink position [too high ] to be realistic. [using x box] A lot of good ideas and food for thought just shows what can be achieved without mods.

This is glorious... I was just starting out doing something similar and was looking for inspiration and I am realizing that I haven't fully unlocked how I can be better integrating the modules with the landing pads! Can't wait to get cracking on that... excited to see how/when the mods start to unlock more options for modules and clutter, but it is amazing what you can get with the vanilla assets even now. Excellent stuff, can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Thank you for this video it is so great! I always fall into the trap of making a hab so large that it always looks bare but you showed me that smaller is better (area). Oh yea, if anyone on a PC is having trouble stacking a 3rd level cabinet, jump up on a level 1 cabinet you can then place the level 3 cab on the level 2 without getting the floating error :)

Your patience with decorating is amazing. I love placing structures down in cool areas and then i think, gawd, i have to decorate now... :) IE i just did a nice beach outpost on Linneaus II. This planet has a fauna type that you can farm for sealant. Its odd because the fauna is a sea creature. When you place the farm structure on land, the creatures kind of float around over the ground, which looks weird. I found a shallow bay that allowed me to build the farm structures at water level, so now they're all swimming properly! Got some great hab units just barely above the water but they're so empty... Want to come decorate for me? ;)

Great build and vid. The idea of using a hallway as a bedroom or bathroom is great! I wonder how close to a existing civilian outpost you can build? It would make selling super easy.

How are you getting around the problem of the habs trying to have their foundations go through the landing pad? I was trying this kind of thing on Xbox and couldn't pull it off.

I've tried building onto the landing pad. I've found it's easier after you get the hight of the Hab on the pad is to delete the landing pad then when complete re-insert the landing pad

The interiors have a bit of Fallout 4 vibe. Also, can't imagine removing that module and seeing dozens of nicely placed items just drop down. Guess you really must be sure about the layout before start decorating with various 'junk'.

Hey Shawz nice build mate!! I pictured u as an older guy with the deep voice & all & very well spoken lol but now that I see ya face I see that u are a younger guy. I watch another youtuber that has a vid with tips & tricks if u would like me to link it?? I'm wondering does the game auto land ya ship to compensate for the buildings on the pad?? I started my building in Fallout 4. I'm 55yrs old & from the East Coast U.S. & as always cheers ya do a fantastic job!!! ....... P.S. u did the same thing I did in ya bathroom, u put a shelf above the toilet but it's not high enough unless the ones using it are Moon Midgets lol, you'd bump ya head. I gotta remove the shelf n my bathroom lol,lol....

How do you move around all "Sims" like when placing items? (floating in the air) I've only been able to move about as regularly while placing items in an outpost.

Press V when building if on PC, otherwise read what button it requires, its on the lower right of the screen with the rest of the commands

how do you use the build mode to place the ornaments etc?

Drop the items from your inventory and go into build mode then press the button you would to take/pick up items. I use controller so for me it’s “A”

I love how PC can manipulate the build options in the games, current so easily, I would love for y’all to try that shit on Xbox. The current building system for outpost and ships is definitely optimized for PC. I mean, I could plug in the mouse and keyboard to my Xbox but Seriously ? Most of the game breaking issues are happening to console players.

It’s a shame even in PC you can’t have a doorway to the landing pads with all build precision and optimization. It’s a Janky mess to even try it on console.

It works, I've been throwing habs onto the shipbuilder on Xbox. You have to be very presice and build the airlock as low to the floor of the landing pad as possible.

The game turned out to be a complete vacuous, procedural, waste of a once good idea. As much as i luv mods and modding, mods cant save this turkey. I broke my main gaming rule and pre-ordered this game, Apparently still living and learning. Oh my

Thanks,but hell no ! 😃😅 its already enough problems with just landing pad it self,ship landing fcknows where, outpost build mode messing up randomly.. so with all of that, the game should just crash straightaway 😂🤭🤭

Really nice work sir! I was under the impression that junk objects fell through the floors. Has that been fixed? I’ve been refraining from getting really detailed into outposts, until they add more objects. There’s so many things not available yet.

Thanks! Not sure if it’s been fixed but after decorating make sure to save the game and exit to menu then load up again that should keep junk items in place
