**CORRECTION** Stroud Eklund in the Narion System has a Class-C Engine for sale that is max power of 2, allowing you to still place 6 Engines with a Class-C Reactor. They also have a Bridge (the bottom 2 options of the group that are ultra wide) that has 6 Crew Stations making it another good choice for a "Tiny" Ship build with 8 Crew capacity.

The base Deimos bridge also has 6 slots. The 3 steps up all have 8.

Stroud normal cockpit has 4 crew slots all you need when you don't get the skills.

@@delindsay i can confirm they all give 8. I was trying it out yesterday, and I always go for the lighter ones as I don't care about cargo space. Outpost keeps my stuff and if I need to store something on the go, I put it on my cheap cargo ship (about 19k cargo space) with zero mobility. Fast travel doesn't care about grav jumps limitations either 🤦‍♂️. Feels like an exploit, like so many things in this game. Like the clipping ship parts exploit (you can have dozens of cargo modules in the space of one, I think you just can't clip parts you actually go inside). Edit:nvm, i thought you were talking about the deimos bridge for some reason... 🤦‍♂️

Thank you and funny enough I made that Ship, that I said you could at the end of this video. Cost me like 320K and it's actually quite good but appearance is meh. Hard to make it look good when it's basically a stubbed big toe lol.

When you want to dupe or delete things, don't click them, just hover over them and do the key combo. cuts down on double selects.

Let me over simplafy it for you. You have 8 potential available positions. But management will never green light hiring from the staffing agency if you don't got the work. They just be standing round twiddling their thumbs. Build the hiring positions then make sure to add the work so you can staff them.

I made a tiny ship with the Stroud-Ecklund bridge and while it has 6 crew and amazing visibility, the crew are too close to pilot seat and they're CONSTANTLY talking, its like im being catcalled smh

How does the social skill come into play with all this? So your ship holds 10 as it is now. If you maxed the social skill would you be allowed 18 crew? Also what does passenger slots do then? Thank you once again for great info!

Passenger slots are for those Mission Board Missions, nothing else. Your skill only relates to how many YOU can manage, not the Ship. This video is about how to get that many on the SHIP. 8 is the max, 9 with Sarah, no more until Bethesda changes it.

Still can't understand how the Cabot cockpit only has 2 crew stations aside from the captain/pilot. But the timing of this video is great as I just realized that I had leveled up enough to unlock the 3x2 and 3x3 and 2x3 habs (I love the look of the 2x2 HopeTech Battle Stations). DIscovering this has helped me a lot as I'm still too low for the best (read: Lvl 60) reactors and will need a LOT of reactor engineers to keep everything powered to at least 75%. I very much would like to see more design theory videos for people who are starting to steer away from vendor/acquired ships and start building their own unique Winnebago.

After I got my Star Eagle, I kind of forgot about going back and upgrading for quite a few levels. Now that I am dealing with the Starborn after Walter's quest, I needed a bit more oomph and was surprised by what was waiting for me at the showrooms and with the technicians.

I may have a ship that is bugged. There isn't even an option for me to add crew to my ship in the crew menu, only my settlement. I counted 6 crew stations from habs (engineering, control, & computer) & over 7 capacity on a class C ship (4 from weapons, 1.5 engines, 3 reactor, plus equipment & shield). Currently have Sam, Andreja, & Amari on the ship with Barrett & Vasco at the lodge unassigned. Any suggestions?

Do you have the Skill/Perk that increases how many Crew you can have on your Ship? This video was just a Guide to achieve 8 Crew on the Ship itself, not including the Skill requirement.

@@delindsay I don't. I did have more crew on a previous ship but that crew also consisted of Sarah. I guess I didn't realize it maxes at 3. I'll have to put some more points into that tree.

@@seanmalbrough183 Yeah, with Sarah having Leadership, she's essentially free so the 3 Crew we start with (unskilled) can actually be 4 with her.

No, it must be due to how high Sarah's is. I have 7 right now (8 with Sarah) and if I change to a Ship with 6, I lose one, they go "unassigned."

@@delindsay I kind of figured something out with that actually. I wasn't actually testing, but it appears to be something to do with the placement of the Deimos Ares Bridge relative to the Landing Bay. Perhaps if the bridge is too forward where the entryway is above the landing bay, even two floors up. I went through a redesign and pushed the massive 3x3 bridge back 1 notch and Vasco no longer pops up into the entryway.

You don't, at this time in the game there's only 4 Crew that actually give you a bonus but the point of the video is HOW to actually get the Ship to be capable of 8 Crew (maximum fully talented without Sarah) since the game doesn't expressly tell you.

Bethesda has sown a HUGE amount of confusion in their players by stupidly calling crew 'capacity' what they did. If they called it crew 'requirement', there would be a lot less confusion. Crew 'capacity' should by rights refer to 'passenger slots'. How many crew does your shi[p 'need' for optimum performance as opposed to how many crew can your ship 'house'. The nomencature that Bethesda used was criminally stupid.

Agreed. While I'll be one to admit that modern games do too much hand holding, I think Bethesda went a little too far in the other direction with the mechanics of Starfield by explaining literally nothing. Then it gets worse, there are NPC's that have for example the Particle Weapon Perk but do NOTHING/give no bonus when you hire them as Crew. There's been a few that theorize it's content that just hasn't been added yet so here's hoping they get that figured out because as it sits, there's only 3-4 Crew that actually affect anything on your Ship (Shields/Engines/Vasco/Sarah).

That's a tall order indeed. I only have 2 so far, New Atlantis Penthouse (finishing Vanguard) & The Well. Honestly, as small as it is I like The Well Apt better. It'd be a while before I got ALL Apts though.

Look at the "Maximum Power" for each Weapon type, divide that from 12 (total Power) and that's how many of that Weapon you can have. So if it's a PB-30 as example, it has a max power of 3 which means you can have 4 total.

@@RobertJene You have (3) Weapon banks, which gives you enough for up to (12) power-3 Weapons. Then there's the Jammer and 2 pcs from the Crimson Fleet if you do that questline. 12 Weapons = 6 Crew Jammer = 0.5 Both Crimson Fleet = 1.5 Total = 8 Crew, just from "Weapons"

You're not wrong. As of this moment in the game, only 4 Crew actually affect anything anyway.
