She got them while serving in the USAF. Helped her pay through college. She'll rank up whenever Lauren allows for it. (Although, I like the idea that the personnel department and recruiting service screwed her.) On the BDUs front, I can't say anything. It seemed like that's what people were wearing in this base, so I went with the flow. lol. I'd love any feedback and help making sure we are doing the proper things. (Like I know I messed up not saying my rank first.. That was my bad. haha)

My immersion break is when they say their PCs are using Windows XP, but then uses a touch screen to rotate an image. Multi-touch support was part of Windows Aero, when it was revised for Windows 7.

Maggie, On the note of BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform), they're U.S. Army's standard this time in-game. Considering its an Air Force base/security, yeah technically all military personnel should be in ABUs (Airman Battle Uniform) or Service Uniform (Service Dress Uniform without the Dress jacket). Fatigues vs Service uniform would depend on the department of the base you're working for. But that's all easy to skip over; you wear the fatigues of the local terrain. As for rank, I would love to see Khang sent to OTS (Officer Training School) at some point, though she doesn't quite demonstrate the leadership personality that would get her into OTS. At the same time, I highly doubt Col Reinfield had a college degree, so who knows what the personnel department is thinking right now! But she is in a really good place for character development, to grow into a leader. Regardless, I now understand that character rank represents level has a direct impact on character stats and abilities, so it is a necessary sacrifice for gameplay. I think the two most important parts of doing everything properly military for immersion's sake is to: 1. refer to EVERY officer as Sir/Ma'am or [Rank, Last Name] ALWAYS. Once you break the ice with the Wing Commander, that would be one of few exceptions to the Sir/Ma'am/Rank rule so prominent in militaries. It's become an instinctual habit for me to call everyone sir/ma'am to the point where someone like my father catches me off guard and I instinctually respond "Yes Sir" and its really awkward xD 2. Embrace your branch's core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All That We Do. Those are the 3 keys to successfully serving your country through the USAF, given to you (forcefully) your first day of recruit training (bootcamp). Most important thing here; enjoy the game! We (as viewers) don't have fun unless you have fun. So disregard all of that ^ if it will interfere with your experience as a player. Anyway, that's my input as a 3rd year U.S. Air Force Cadet. Well, there is in fact THREE different versions of this game, Back in the day when they were still producing the show West End Games got the licence for the rpg, it was mostly finished when things went sideways at the gaming company, (but if you search the net you may still find a copy, the original writer (who never got paid) put the manuscript up online) Later AEG got the license and used the d20 system, years later that lapsed Next year a new Stargate rpg will be released by Wyvern Gaming using D&D's 5th edition

Played this year's ago. Just started watching. Hope the series is a success, as I've been awaiting a group making a good go of it for years. I know in our games we took it in our own direction like you guys are doing. We did start off in a more established timeline thou, with a new team been integrated into the sg structure. To make things unexpected. I included certain game events and mile stones to add in new races and distant destinations. This included entering the starwars universe and starship troop events.

Might be minor spoilers but the address is 6 pairs of continents, draw a line between the pairs and the destination is where the three lines intersect. The last (but not necessarily 7th) is the home address. As for the last two, the 7th (an 8 chevron address) is more of a different area code, the 8th (9 chevron address) is a different phone book. Canonically I think there have only been 3 uses of an 8 long address, not counting redials. There was only one time that a 9 chevron address was used, and it was only dialed once. I might have seen a feew episodes...

Feels bad man, the video keeps on suddenly cutting out. Also, this would make a VERY interesting long-term campaign, as I could totally see the crew warping around the galaxy acting as first contact. The political aspect would also lead to potentially intergalactic level plotting and subterfuge between Earth and other civilizations, while the exploratory aspect could lead to all sorts of combat scenarios and new scientific discovery (aka cool guns and armor).

I mean, in SG1 the Asgard killed themselves years ago, so in this timeline they may have been overrun by the replicator because they never found Reese and would be on the run.
