Fucking great song! The Master on Keyboards:Jon Lord. I'm a huge Whitesnake and Deep Purple fan. Great performance!!

I love this Whitesnake. It´s incredible what MTV and an americanized tarted up group of musicians turned WS into. After all DC here was really wild , powerful and with big hair but unfortunately massively ignored. He should sing more songs from the early years of the band for everyone, especially for those who don´t know about the older WS. Personally I got acquainted with these songs a short time ago and I love them... They are great, indeed!

I totally agree. I classify WS into two periods: the English phase and the Americanphase. The real WS for me is until Slide It In Album (English phase)... then Coverdale decided to be "American" and WS turned out more commercial.

Bloodforgodz - so with you. There are dinosaurs of rock and David isn't one of them because he's moved on - I admit I didn't like it at the time, but now I'm 40 (today - aaah!) I'm coming back to rock and, hey, David, you're not too old for me now, heh heh! You've got to keep evolving or fossilise....

@workstrength he did come and get it and saints and sinners as well.. after that whitesnake took a long break whilst coverdale was caring for his sick daughter.. paice/murray went on to work with gary moore, and when it was time to go back to whitesnake, david had invited cozy powell.. david didnt think paice played so well on saints and sinners, which jon lord agreed with actually.

for those who think that coverdale sold out.....i think that you´re almost right , beacuse if think about it the only only sold out on a image matter....because the music was way better than what warrant , skid row or warrat were doing.....and if you think about it 1987 is among the top 3 80´s albums......they only had 2 glam records 1987 and slip of the tongue and those were the best on the genre.....and besides coverdale doesn´t gives a shit about what you think

David Coverdale was more or less forced to go to America and change the music because he was up to his neck in debt. If you don't like that then baby you can kiss his ASS!

bullshit he had loads of royalties from purple(same manager john coletta) coletta wanted to reform purple cos of mega money offers davy had his own ideas and offer from w.e.a.

Ever tried reading a book? I recently read one called Sail Away - Whitesnake's Fantastic Voyage. By Martin Popoff. It describes in detail how Whitesnake/David Coverdale were almost broke and needed to go to America and more or less sell out in order to earn some money.
@davepatterson78648 жыл бұрын
Have looked at the book,cheers, not seen it before.But I was guitar roadie to bernie, micky and neil 80 and81 and lved in at ridge farm clearwell castle and tittenhurst park during the recording and writing, and I can tell you that john and yoko only had there names on bell push's either side of the bed and I think davy carved john loves yoko on a bench by the lake then rushed up to the house and told us he'd discovered it Also I am part of the crowd cheering on this very track black n blue.fantastic days.The purple part of whitsnake was never hard up.

Imagine that: A singer names his band after his prick, mimes the hard rock artist but sings cheesy blues rock ballads and gets lots of female attention for his great looks up to old age. Is there any resemblance to existing artists? Tell me!
