There are lots of great episodes and moments in the first two seasons, but overall the pacing and theming just isn't at the same caliber as the later seasons, and for me quite a few episodes felt unnecessary. Of course, Cad Bane is one of The Clone Wars' best!

The pacing does feel...different I suppose. Of course, that's because they were covering a much wider array of Star Wars stories, which were each overall shorter than the episode arcs in the later seasons. But I actually really like that contrast between the older and later seasons, and how it emphasizes the greater complexity and importance of these storylines as the series progresses.

I have nostalgia for the 2008 film. When I think of that movie, I don't think of Rotta the Hutt, but of thrilling, fun action... yeah, that's not what makes a movie good, but I have a fondness for this film.

Can’t wait for new Clone Wars episodes. I’m actually fine with it being on the streaming service. I was planning on getting the Disney service anyways for all the Marvel and Star Wars content all in one place. We don’t have cable TV anymore anyways because packages offered by places like Time Warner or Comcast just cost way too much per month for what you get with them. It’s really not worth paying over $100/mo for the 4-5 channels that you actually watch. Yes, you do get hundreds of channels, but when we broke it down, we actually only watched like 4-5 channels. We have found that It’s much more cost effective to just buy the streaming services that you actually watch (especially since most channels now have their own streaming service). Oh -and I loved Rebels season 2, 3 and 4. Once they got that character introduction season 1 out of the way, the show ended up being just as good as The Clone Wars in my mind.

And did they not say anything about the new season being about Ahsoka and Rex´s time on Mandalore, I would at least really enjoy that. Clone wars was such a pleasant surprise for me when it first started I wrote it off as a kids show but before the force awakens my buddies and I watched all of the movies and I couldn't get enough the first few episodes were rough but overall I couldn't believe how good it is I'm so sad it's off of Netflix now 😭

I think that only the bad batch episodes will be included in season 7. The crisis on Utapau story arc wasn't all that important to the overall progression of the series so I'm pretty sure they'll drop it.

This video is really interesting, I really agree with what you say. For me, The Clone Wars is great from season 1 to season 6 (although some episodes are debatable). I really like this show and I'm glad it finally has a memorable ending, finally Disney is doing something well after those horrible spin-offs and that awful postology

I think there is no such thing as unnecessary "The Clone Wars" stories! Every story has had a purpose in the long run. The first two seasons are my favorite and we would not have the more popular season like 4, 5 and 6 without the first two seasons and everything that the creators tried out or tested for the first time. Many great things were established in the first two season that would pay off in later seasons. Here are some examples: We got to hate Ventress as a villain in TCW movie, the first two seasons and in one episode in Season Three before she got betrayed in the Nightsisters arc and then became a fan-favorite character. We got the episode "Ambush" - the best episode with Yoda ever that IMO had the perfect blend between PT and OT Yoda, and the best scene with Yoda that rivals the ones in the movies - the talk with the clones in the cave. It was really interesting to see all the different Jedi and clone troopers in the various episodes and see their points of view. We got "Rising Malevolence (the Plo Koon episode in space), "Liberty on Ryloth" (the Mace Windu episode), "Innocents of Ryloth" (the Waxer and Boil episode with little Numa), "The Deserter" (the fantastic episode with Cut Lawquane which started Rex's path towards leaving the Republic behind) and my first all-time favorite episode in the entire show "Lair of Grievous" (my all-time favorite episode later became "Massacre"). Seeing Grievous duel Kit Fisto was out of this world! I love the episode "Bombad Jedi" where we saw Jar Jar Binks on Rodia with Nute Gunray, but not many agree. The events that story set in motion eventually led us to the incredible Umbara arc - Gunray's attack on Rodia indirectly caused the Umbaran senator to be murdered by Republic representative and the planet joined the CIS. Episodes like "Corruption" and "The Academy" serve as great world-building for Mandalore and served as setup for what came later in Season 5 and what is coming in Season 7. The best battle of Geonosis happened in Season Two! It had the best D-Day type of episode aka "Landing at Point Rain", it got zombies, it properly introduced us to the Geonosian society that is still being revisited to this day by new "Star Wars" media and it gave Ahsoka a best friend in the form of Barriss Offee who served a vital part in the former's Season Five story that ends with her leaving the Jedi Order - one of the saddest moments in the entire series. "Bounty Hunters" is a perfect episode which introduced us to the epic Embo. Perfection! I could say the same for the prequels to "The Clone Wars" movie that are "Hidden Enemy" and "Cat and Mouse". These are just a few examples of the greatness in Season One and Two of "The Clone Wars". I can not go on and on about this phenomenal show. It is normal that it was a bit lighter than the later seasons. The TV series grew up with its audience. Fans of the show got to go on light-hearted adventurers and see epic battles before concentrating on the darker and heavy stuff in the later seasons. I am grateful I started with episodes like "Dooku Captured", "Grievous Intrigue" and "The Zillo Beast" before diving into the depressing side of the Clone War like the arc about Order 66 in Season Six. Having said all this, I am so happy that my all-time favorite TV series is coming back and I can not wait to watch the 12 upcoming episode of the show! THE CLONE WARS FOREVER!

Honestly I think the movie did a few good things. *SPOILERS* Whenever we watch Ahsoka leave in s5, we can reflect back on how much she grew from the movie to the show's "end". And it explains why sending Luke to Tatooine in ROTS was a good idea. Count Dooku pointed out he could feel Anakin's pain just by the latter being on the planet itself. Unless Attack of the Clones did that... I honestly haven't watched that since I rewatched the movies for TLJ.

I never watched Clone Wars. I had no problem with the anthologies, but the sequels are just copies of the originals. I hope Episode Nine does not copy Return of the Jedi, but it most likely will because Disney only cares about money.

Are you sure these are the FINAL 12 episodes? Every official source I've seen reports it as "12 all new episodes", not implying anything about it being the final. I mean, sure, they've said they're "finishing the series", but that statement would be true no matter what manner or quantity they're releasing new Clone Wars episodes. Honestly, even with Siege on Mandalore, its not impossible that they'd consider making more episodes. I mean, it wouldn't be unusual exactly for them to release new clone wars episodes that took place earlier in the timeline. Seasons 1-3 jumped across TCW timeline ALL THE TIME. Personally, I think Disney is intentionally testing the waters with this whole "12 episodes" thing, and will continue to release more episodes based on what level of positive audience reception they receive.

When Disney got Lucasfilm The Clone Wars aired on Cartoon Network which is a rival network to Disney channel and Disney XD. So yeah Disney had to cancel the Clone Wars since they didn’t want their property airing on a rival TV network. Cancelling the Clone Wars ,BB-8, and Resistance are pretty much the only thing that I don’t like about Disney owning Lucasfilm.

I quite like the clone wars movie. It probably fell short of what had been hoped for because it was just an arc of the show marketed as a movie but it wasn't that bad. It introduced Ahsoka and it did it in the best way. Let's be honest, Star Wars Protagonists always start out cheesy and goofy; then we get to watch them develop. Some of the fight scenes were awesome (especially the Obi Wan, Ventress one) and the animation was pretty good. I think fans need to stop hating on Star Wars and just give it a chance to tie up loose ends and build on the stories, plots and characters. I recently rewatched episodes 7 and 8, and I really enjoyed both of them, much more the second time around. Rogue one and Solo are both really good movies too. I actually think that there is a political agenda behind the slating of Star Wars and I wouldn't be surprised if it was bank-rolled by people who realise the affect it had on generations of fans. It's a powerful political satire that gets people thinking about the actions of their leader and states in a more critical way and has inspired lots of 'rebels'. I digress. The clone wars is all good (and so's rebels)...some parts are better than others but (when I really think about it), I have very little negative things to say.

Personally i dont mind that disney created star wars resistance. I feel that younger audience's deserve a show that is within their age group. Clone wars is pretty dark in certain areas but it also grew up with the 8 to 12 year old audience in 2008. For people to hate it for being a kids show is bull. Too harsh, I couldn’t disagree more. I absolutely LOVED seasons 1 and 2 and I know MANY who feel the same way. There’s still a LOT to love about those early episodes, skipping the ENTIRETY of seasons 1 AND 2 would be a HUGE mistake. The movie wasn’t that bad either, c’mon now. It’s mediocre-okay at worst, good at best. I still, to this day, thoroughly enjoy it and re-watch it as a 22 year old man to this day. You can NEVER tell me TCW movie, entire 2nd Battle of Geonosis, Rookies, all Cad Bane episodes, Zillo Beast arc, Ryloth arc and more AREN’T WORTH watching for essential character development, beautiful visuals, great, emotional, hard-hitting, solid, classic Star Wars fun storytelling and so much more. Nope.

I still extremely hate TCW (2008) and how they brushed off Clone Wars (2003) and made it non-canon when it fits more with the movies. I also still dislike TCW because to me it's extremely boring (I have rewatched it in the chronological order way). So this announcement did not really hype me up. I will probably watch it just to watch it. But I think Disney needs to hit Genndy Tartakovsky up so he can do a new SW cartoon.

I don't know, they will still shitting in the new movies, just because they gave them what they want it won't automatly change their opinion. It's like if in episode 9 they reveal that snoke is plagues, or that rey is a skywalker or a kenobi or some shit like that, they will not stop hating on both characters even if they gave them what they wanted to be. Rey will be always called a Mary Sue no matter if she's a kenobi or a skywalker, and snoke will be seen as a shitty villain even if he was the emperors master. The damage is done, and when the clone wars is finish they will keep bitching about everything. The only thing that would save the community is the new generation growing with these new movies and having a soft spot for them, just like the prequels fans have when they grew up with the prequels despite how much the OT purist hate them with passion. It's circle of toxic hate that will never be satisfied.
