Love the blue tape hole finding trick! The flip down passenger seat is a great bonus! They look comfy. Have seen the Sunfire swap that looks good too. Nice job.

Just did the Sunbird seats in my 94 YJ, bolt right up, but cloth covering is almost worn too much. Nice job.

Hi I just want to say thanx I did this to my 94 YJ this weekend.

One of the best upgrades you can do in a YJ. I love those seats. Might also mean I waited way too long to get the old ones out though.

Well done. I'll have some like yours before long. Thanks

I have the same Tuffy center console. Those seats look amazing. I would love to upgrade to leather seats one day. If I ever stop off-roading !! Lol

It will be interesting to see how they hold up when they get wet and dirty. All I can say is they are a huge improvement.

Hey thanks for the video! Just did some on my 95 yj, donor seats came out of an 07 Grand Prix. I love them so much, it was a medium hard install to get all the parts lined up but not bad. Something that saved me some headache though was removing just the yj’s sliding rails and not the whole base of the seat. Now I just gotta figure out how to hook up these heated seats if anyone has any clues I’d love to hear how those get hooked up!

Do you think other GM vehicles that share the same platform with that year of Grand Prix will have the same seat bolt pattern and be able to fit as well (impala, Monte Carlo , allure, lacrosse)

Any chance this would work for a '93 XJ?

super bummed, it is insane how much this did not work for my 88, the mounts are an inch skinnier and the frame is an inch sort of reaching both holes, TONS of fab needed to make this work, seats directly out of an 06 grand prix
@StarkReality2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. I did not realize there was difference between those years.
@mattriley37552 жыл бұрын
I just did the swap on a 85.. same seats, same story as you but what i did was drill a pilot hole at at the 2 back holes on the seat then took 5/16 drill bit to make the holes wider.... i drilled new front holes like he did in video and yes those are wider as well but the bolts still fit inside the seat
@The408challenger2 жыл бұрын
@@mattriley3755 I decided to use the intermediary bracket from the Pontiac seat as a base, welded that base to the seat and then welded studs on that to fit the jeep rails. Not a terribly hard job but kinda makes picking these sorta irrelevant as they don’t fit directly. From what I learned it seems I more likely picked the wrong Pontiac seats as there are many more variations from what originally thought

@@The408challenger nice job glad you made it work! Hey to esch their own.. but i grabbed the same seats as him...mine were from an 06' but had same module and were heated...drivers was power and heated!

I have a 92 yj with newer jeep seats drivers side does not sit center of the steering wheel can some one tell me why.

The seat has always been offset a little bit but I never thought it was enough to worry about. Just the way they built them.

Post 91 YJ had a change in the driver seat bracket that does not recline. Pre 91 had the centered/reclining seat bracket.

Do you think a 2005 grand prix leather electric seats would fit?

Man, they look fantastic! I saw someone do Pontiac son bird seeds or whatever you call that car, and they looked OK. They didn’t really fit the vehicle as well as those whatsoever though. That’s an awesome job

Yeah the old Sunbird seats might have fit easily but don't look quite right. I really like how these look but they are also very comfortable. Should have done it long ago.

How did you deal with no tilt on driver's side?
@StarkReality4 жыл бұрын
I have never seen a tilting drivers seat in a YJ. Back seat riders have to use the passenger side.

Those weathered old things are not worth buying. They did hold up for a lot of years though.

How bout the seat belt connectors?
@StarkReality5 жыл бұрын
The belts in the jeep mount to the floor so not effected by the seat replacement. It is a little tight on the center console side but otherwise they work great.
@David-vk2co5 жыл бұрын
Imntalking about the seat belt part thats attached to the seat does it match the existing one in the jeep
@StarkReality5 жыл бұрын
@@David-vk2co The only place the original seat interacts with the belts is in the middle of the jeep where it had a little loop to hold the belt female end in place. The new seats do not have a loop but it really is no loss. The female end of the belt is tight against the center console because of the bigger bolsters so it does not move.
