While I also wonder 'what were they thinking', I'm glad to see accessories brought to the market from SL since they'll fit properly and be of high quality. The more parts available, the more choices available.

I'm completely baffled why they chose the regular Starlink versus the Mini for this. What am I missing ?
@StarlinkHardware8 күн бұрын
You aren't missing anything, I'm 100% with you on that. I'm guessing it took longer than they wanted to develop the Gen 3 backpack. They had probably already started working on it before the Mini was released. I'm going to assume they are already working on a backpack for the Mini which we can expect to see in the next 6 months. Starlink tends to take their time with in-demand accessories (thinking about the Gen 3 DC adapter for example).

Should be a mini instead
@StarlinkHardware8 күн бұрын
Agreed! I'm sure they will launch one for the Mini eventually. I'd like one with enough room for the Mini kit, laptop, portable power bank, and a few accessory cables.

You can put the mini in your pocket

I have the pack for our standard roam system for our travel trailer. It's a great way to store it traveling down the road to keep it safe. You have to remember when pulling your trailer it's like a 4.0 earthquake inside your trailer so the pack keeps it safe from damage.

Clicked on this thinking it was for the mini, people don't take this hiking really? How do they power it? I assume a mini version will be coming, and that would be awesome :)

I’m hoping they release a Mini version soon, as that one makes the most sense for a backpack situation.

@ Realised you address all these points at the very end of your video I should wait before commenting next time :)

So I am confused, you leave the router and power box in the backpack? Because in my experience that router overheats and potentially could cause problems
@StarlinkHardwareКүн бұрын
Yes, this backpack allows you to leave everything but the dish in the pack, with just the cables coming out the side. The router gets warm because it's the POE injector for the dish, and that's normal. I assume that's why they put the mesh cover over the router area. When you say it overheats, do you get a thermal shutdown of the system or error message in the app?

Why the heck would they choose Gen 3 starlink instead of the backpack portable Mini?

mi chiedo perchè non c'è per la mini??
@masonfoley12768 күн бұрын
This seems woefully impractical. 3/4 of the backpack is for the Starlink with little room for anything else.

How much is the weight? Looks too heavy!
@StarlinkHardware8 күн бұрын
The backpack itself is little under 10 lbs empty. With the Standard kit + a laptop you are looking at around 20 lbs.

If they had made it where it was fully waterproof and/or maybe have a slot for a battery pack/solar panel i ciuld see this as a worthwhile investment at $200...but without either if those I'll just stick with pelican cases.

To moc nedává smysl 🤷 Přenosné zařízení je Starlink mini, které lze napájet z poverbanky. Mé řešení je batoh Predator. Notebook Predator, veškeré příslušenství, Ecoflow River Max a Starlink mini 🙂

That is WAY too big. Like putting your tennis shoes in a large roller bag. Mine slides in my backpack 1/2 that size with a power pack that runs it 12 hrs continuous. Almost like a Tesla Truck😂

A reasonable case, but let's be honest, why does the pricing always have to be so exaggerated? The price of $199 ~ 190€ is overpriced in my opinion. Then it is again not listed in the EU shop.

It definitely needs a better fully padded hip belt to take the weight off your shoulders.
