Thank you John I enjoyed your starlink comparison. I have a standard dish and a mini. The standard dish is now fixed to our house and the mini we take in our motorhome. We recently did a 3000mile trip across Europe with the mini and it was flawless, most of the time we were getting speeds of 150-200 meg downloads, there is not much difference in the upload speeds of each dish. Bearing in mind the satellites are travelling at 17,000 mph I don't think whether you are travelling at 10mph or 70mph makes any difference, we found the mini dish worked just as well in motion as stationary. The main advantages of the mini is it's compact, lightweight, has a built in router, designed to run on 12v and uses little power all important considerations when kitting out a mh or camper.

thanks, what mount did you use on your travels, flat or finely calibrated?

Thanks once again John. Great video. This is a Public Service Broadcast 👌I bought the Version 3 this year for my van and it been faultless for conference calls so I am delighted. If the mini was as fast as the V3 I might be tempted as the convenience of the small size, no router and USB C is appealing but I cannot risk having speed issues when working.

Great video! Has anybody figured out a work around the 2 month limit for using the device outside your registered country? I need it with work for up to 6 months outside the UK, but I don't want to come back. 😅

Interesting comparison, quite a difference in download speeds - looks like you made a good choice. I’m seeing better down and upload on Mini at times, but not better than yours, but can vary quite a bit - slightly further north near Darlington but not sure if that makes much of a difference. All the best, David 👍

The short answer is yes, but I’ve got a full review of Starlink already here on my channel. This video is just comparing the latest Starlink products.

You also have router powe W, which mimi doesn’t?
@GadgetJohn2 күн бұрын
No I don’t, as I show in the video. My router is 3rd party and the Starlink app doesn’t see the power it uses.

I heard some using them on Biz jets as it’s cheaper than the sats systems installed and charging a fortune. Not sure how well they are working though , Window elements can be an issue for them. Hmm, Wonder if it would work under a rotor disc in flight.

Looks to me like horses for courses, you choose what you want and pay accordingly. I wish other companies had this option.

We live in Ireland, and our average upload speed is anywhere between 20-30Mbps and pretty much never drops below 20Mbos. I've no idea why he've got such a poor result with it on your video. Download speed is 120Mbps on average and is fast enough for most tasks unless you need to download some huge files often. We ran our Mini 24/7, and we mounted it inside our Motorhome. You can see how it's mounted on a few of our recent videos (it's just behind me).
