I'm getting 400+ at times on my Gen 2 system at my home in the mountains of Costa Rica. Super happy with the system and service thus far.
@StarlinkHardwareАй бұрын
Impressive! I've seen mid 300's in my area, which is honestly more than enough for my purposes. I really don't know what I would do with 1 gig or even 2 gigs. The good news is that download to upload is a ratio, so any increase in download capabilities should mean increases in upload speeds as well. Upload is certainly something I could use more of!
@imxploringАй бұрын
I guess I'll see how my speeds hold up as user density increases... but honestly in my area I can't see it outpacing the build out of the satellite constellation or improved satellite speeds. For my uses... the current speeds I'm getting are already far beyond my needs.
@jakekisiel7399Ай бұрын
Gen 2 system? I got the first version. Can I get higher speeds for the same price if I pay for a new dish?
@imxploringАй бұрын
@@jakekisiel7399 Not sure if you'd see an increase in speed... the limits are more related to user density and traffic load. I would ride it out with your current system and see if the speeds increase as they add more, and better, satellites before spending a bunch of money on a new system.... unless your current speeds are useless and you have cash to burn. I've watch a number of Starlink videos comparing Gen 1 with later systems... I don't seem to remember there being a major difference in speeds.

Hey I came here because I noticed yesterday on my Gen 3 I was well over 400 mbps after an update. Can't believe my Internet just keeps getting better since I got it!
@imxploringАй бұрын
@@c4yourself319 It's a result of the increased density of the satellite constellation and the new generation of satellites being deployed. It should continue to get better hopefully unless user density really increases in your area.

Im in a rural part of the UK (no fibre or decent connection) so Starlink really does help, with day to day basics, Netflix, web browsing, video calls etc etc. The one thing I have noticed in its current form, gaming isn’t the best with Starlink, quite laggy, delayed, no dropouts just not the best connection to play. Hopefully this will improve!
@StarlinkHardwareАй бұрын
I'm sure it will continue to improve. In 2021-2022 it was basically unusable for gaming for me. I played things like Rocket League and iRacing, which were fast paced and required low latency to be enjoyable. I had to keep my DSL internet just for gaming, Starlink simply wouldn't work well during that time. Things got better toward the end of 2022 and into 2023. Specifically the amount of micro outages (0.1 to 2 seconds) has been drastically reduced. I was finally able to ditch DSL and game on Starlink, at least in my area. It's still not perfect, just not the best as you said.

In Australia we now have two waitlisted areas, one around Perth, Western Australia and one in Queensland. This is the first time this has happened here, and you’ve just explained why there are quite large areas. I think we’ve had small areas go out in the high population areas on our East Coast, but this is the first time for Perth.
@robmoab3410Ай бұрын
I live in the PNW just outside Vancouver WA. I was on the wait list for over a year to get my service. This area has a lot of population that lives outside city limits with no high speed Internet option outside of starlink. The fastest speeds I see are around 100-120 down. That's lightyears better than my previous seservice, but during peak hours it will slow to about 15-30. Just too much congestion. Still, I love my Starlink!

Here in Spain 80km south of Valencia I get on average 250 mbps down and 22 mbps up on a gen 2 dish, although I bypassed the useless starlink router and installed a 3 unit Deco XE75 mesh. I live in rural oklahoma and when it’s great it’s great but when it’s not you might as well turn it off. when it’s good you get 25-50 ping 150-400+ mps download which is amazing but when it’s bad you’re lucky to get 80 ping 25-50 download which might sound okay but when trying to game on a pc it’s absolutely not. the latency while game is almost unplayable. i truly hope to see this fixed in the near future.

Excellent report. My guess is that Starship is deploying the large satellittes next year. These satellities have a reported 10/1 more capacity over the current versions. Also, in my area (north eastern AZ) fiber is only 3 miles away but the population density is low. Now that VZ has bought Frontier (FYBR), it will be interesting to see if VZ will add fiber optic in place of all of the obsolete copper wire for internet service and compete with Starlink.
@la7dfaАй бұрын
I believe it will be 8x or 10x more capacity than the first version of Starlink, so not a big jump over the currently lanched version. Perhaps just 2x. But capacity might change a tad before the big ones are launched. I live in Europe (Norway) and here Starlink is actually just half the price of in the U.S. The reason is that the demand is not that big since most areas already have fiber access. I live on an island with 2000 people and fiber is almost in every home. It is the politics to government sponsor fiber to rural areas where it is not profitable. Now we get the same pricing and quality as in the cities, gotta love it!

Hey man, I can not find this information anywhare and Starlink support is not avalible in Poland. I wanna buy stralink for bussiness but they have this priority data and standard data. Do you know what's going to happend with my internet speed when I use all of my priority data?
@StarlinkHardwareАй бұрын
The Priority (Business) plan includes a certain allotment of Priority data, but then has unlimited Standard data after that. When you change over to Standard data your speeds might slow down if there are lots of other Starlink users in your area, but generally, there isn't a big difference between Priority and Standard speeds most of the time.
