Nothing new here, in fact this Rugged has now been superseded by a more current version of the Rugged pack produced by Outback Comms. Such is the nature of tech stuff!!
Anyhow, I've had this bit of kit o the 79 landcruiser now for almost a year. I did find, with this kit, the cabling for the starlike excessively looooong and so too the cabling for the external puk wifi aerial.
I had asked for a short cable for the Starlink but that seems to have got missed. A drop in to their offices at Moranbah and they diligently sorted that for me.
It was not until I returned home late last year I started playing with the external wifi aerial. One of the first things I did was chop the cabling to a more suitable length and so I could feed it through the modified cel-fi aerial.
Little known to me, the brass fittings are extremely hard to come by and the crimping tool is not something that sits at your local electronics store either. Anyways, some months later it is all back together and reasonably neat.
Like that you can pause the Starlink subscription, that is real handy. The kit adds another level of safety for us on our travels. No, it is not a substitute for enjoying the bush tv and the company around the fireplace. It ranks, I reckon, with the coffee machine, nice and convenient :)
