As a Space Engineer player, I'm happy to know that this game will be based on the physics of ships and moving stations.
@GordonWrigleyКүн бұрын
It always bugged me that the Space Engineers game engine doesn't care about thruster placement. You can keep the control scheme as is, so it's "you want to go left, we're going to go left with everything I can give you", but still have it so if the thrusters are imbalanced and you don't have enough gyro's to compensate then "everything I can give you" might only be half throttle. The math to work it out isn't even that complicated.

Something about it does remind me of when I first started playing eve. I'm not sure what. That aside I do like the idea of modular ships that are less detailed than space engineers (limitations are good, if I wanted 100% flexibility to draw spaceships I'd go play with blender), but with a more realistic thrust / flight model.

@Hazzard653 күн бұрын
@@TheCephalus With that rock solid argument you've convinced me... anyway you are right it is a win - for large multi-billion dollar companies.
@TheCephalus3 күн бұрын
@@Hazzard65 Actually, it's the opposite. AI art tools are overwhelmingly open source and free, making them a massive advantage for smaller developers, indie creators, and hobbyists. These tools allow anyone, regardless of budget, to produce high-quality visuals and level the playing field against big corporations. This democratization of creativity puts more power in the hands of independent creators, challenging the monopolistic hold that large companies have on expensive art production resources. Take AAA gaming, for instance-art production has traditionally acted as a 'moat,' a high-cost barrier keeping smaller developers out of the market. AI tools disrupt this by drastically lowering costs and empowering smaller teams to create at the same quality as the big players. The claim that AI art is 'bad' often comes from those who want to maintain the status quo, where only large companies with huge budgets dominate. Ironically, these companies benefit the most from blocking AI art because it preserves their monopoly on expensive resources. When used ethically, AI art promotes diversity, fair competition, and creativity across industries. And to address the idea that AI art is a threat to traditional artists-it’s not. AI models rely on constant training and inputs from artists to remain relevant and innovative. Without the creative works of traditional artists, AI art tools would stagnate and lose their ability to evolve. This means there will always be a place for traditional artists in the ecosystem. In fact, AI art tools could provide new opportunities for artists by allowing them to produce more, experiment, and even monetize their styles in ways that weren’t possible before

If they detect thermal energy right there should be shield technologies to create anti thermal energy. For example human body can be detect by thermal camera. To block by using the umbrella to block thermal. Since those module create heat. Then use the panel or asteroid since it block heat right? Just thinking if your using real physics you should able to counter. But the cost should either cheap or high depend on the material. But the umbrella is cheap to make to block it?
@bencitak31242 күн бұрын
Interesting idea, but I don't think an umbrella would work in space. It would heat up via radiant emissions from the ship. It works on earth because of the air gap. Air keeps the umbrella at ambient temp which outweighs the effect of radiated heat absorbed. At the same time, the body is cooled by air which dulls the radiant effect. Since there is nowhere else for the heat to go in space, it will be absorbed by the umbrella, and then it won't work for its intended purpose.
@darknetworld2 күн бұрын
@@bencitak3124 Oh what about the carbon I wonder if absorbed it and asteroid? I did notice the those space station destruction. So could be use as cover or over thinking things. Well as long you find anti heat as there should be some materials to deal with detect. But guessing need balance do research and cost right. Since it sci fi world there should be bandit should have this technologies in stealth to hide those alien attacking them right?
@JFitableКүн бұрын
Conservation of Energy demands that the heat energy goes somewhere. A more reasonable "heat cloaking" technology would be huge reserves of high specific heat mass that you put insulating shielding around. You would eventually need to get rid of that heat, by either huge thermal mass dump (spray the material out) or eject the whole module far away from you. Water happens to be an extremely common material found everywhere in the universe and has a high specific heat. Shielding that heat becomes a bit difficult because water is usually contained by metal which has high thermal conductivity. Module would hold a lot of heat, but is also fairly good at giving it away. Maybe some like... vacuum tech or something.

@@panagiotisgalinos I disagree. It is incredibly difficult to offer great differences in space games with major focus on the mining gameplay loop. DeltaV: Rings of Saturn did a great job already at single ship mining. It's got some great lore and gameplay but many people have been wondering if they could have multiple ships with them on a dive. That's unfortunately not possible. Neither is having your own stations or multiplayer. I think Starminer will be more of a mix of DeltaV: Rings of Saturn, X4:Foundations and maybee (not sure) Factorio/Satisfactory (depending on how crafting/construction and inventory management will be implemented). I've played DeltaV for about 40hours now and I really enjoy it. I am however looking forward to Starminer and am glad we're getting another game in the space mining genre.
