Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland can sort of be seen as a "sibling group" of countries. We share a lot of history and make fun of each other a lot, and in many instances we can understand each others languages to some extent. Even though pure finnish is not compatible with swedish, and a dane will have to slow down his/her speech to be intelligble to a Swede. Although we swedes think it sounds like they talk with a mouth full of oatmeal, so they will have to talk real slow.

I've a Ugandan friend, to whom lived in Sweden. When she travelled back from Uganda back to Sweden, she meet some her people in the Istanbul airport. When they asked where she lives at now, they said to her: "Sweden cheated in Eurovision!" and "You need to see the finnish movie Sisu". I'm a finnish man and I founded that so hilarious, that her own people diss her because she lives in Sweden. 😂
