A champion with a paladin in it! Good God the AI can be so bad. Starsector needs a hard mode that makes the AI equip ships better. You're doing work in that Dominator. Super hammer head. wouldn't want to be a crewman in your fleet!

There's lots of AI builds that don't make sense. Shield shunt pirate eradicators don't last long at all. The default loadouts for the fury use an ion beam and two tac lasers, a pair of harpoons can be dangerous but they are easy to squish when those run out. Don't forget the radiants using 5 paladins... although those kill my bombers pretty fast.

@@ahmataevo Paladin PDs may not be a threat to combat capitals, but to carriers and missile platforms that's their bane. It'll make them waste payloads for nothing, even sabots.

@@zhengzhou6683 if you want to be picky, figure out the one thing you want your junk to be good at, and compensate for everything else. For instance, if I were getting junk Enforcers, the only D-mod I would bother avoiding would be the Bad Sensor Array, as it reduces weapon range. Your logistical d-mods can be compensated for with a few industry skills, and maybe Navigation.

@@matthewslivkoff5937 And if possible, utilize Support Doctrine so that other ships can take part and not take up as much deployment. That 20% works best with officerless capitals and cruisers, and leave the destroyers to the wolfpack officers. That extra CR to those ships can really make a difference in taking and dishing damage. Works best when a system is colonized to keep the production and purchases funded. Derelict Contingent ensures that multiple fights won't fatigue them as much and still come back for more. But the biggest thing holding them back is the ship count cap for fleets.
