I was 24 in 1980 and just bought a 62 Corvette for $4500. What a deal. In 1984, I met and married the most wonderful woman I have ever known. 40 years later, she is more beautiful and amazing than ever. No stopping us!!! We still enjoy Corvettes as I surprised her with a 22 C8 Corvette (This one is all hers). She was absolutely blown away!!!! But better than that we have 7 children born between 1985 and 1996. Now have 5 grandchildren. We only listen to 70s and 80s music, especially when out cruising in any of our amazing cars! A happy wife is a blessing!

I could use the love of God and the giving back to fellow man. As I read about your religion and multitude of exotic cars I thought you may be someone that can help me. I had my one and only vehicle stolen while warming up in my driveway last Saturday. I am not in a financial place to get another vehicle at this time. I am husband and father and do my best to provide for my family. Unfortunately have had some health issues that caused bills to add up and now that I need a vehicle I cant get one. If you feel the love of God and giving of his spirit and could sacrifice a running vehicle to me, please let me know and I would be forever grateful. I need God's help and the help of man/God's warriors as I need to get to work to support my family. Can you offer me the lowest value car you own to help me get to work and support my family and you can continue God's mission of giving to what others don't have? Please help. Thank you

This song was written about my life. I met the most beautiful and amazing woman 40 years ago at the lowest point of my life. I was broken. She introduced me to Jesus. That was a life changer. God has blessed us abundantly as He made her my wife!!!!!! We are now closer and deeper in love than ever. We so enjoy listening to the 70s & 80s music, especially this song, when we go out crusing in the exotic speed machine I bought her a few months ago, just because I like her. She still looks hotter than the car, and I don't mind that kind of problem! On top of that, we have 7 adult children and our 5 grandchildren. I consider myself to be the most blessed man alive!!!!!

Proverbs 11:24-25 24One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor. 25A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. God has blessed us so abundantly, and when much is given, much is required.

why did music feel so much 'warmer' back then? like you swear you can HEAR the sun shining in the music. i miss the 80s. Synth sounded cheery and from the future, saxaphones brought us into great solos and reprises, and harmonies were positive and loving. also, its nuts that this is some of the same crowd who brought us White Rabbit, Somebody To Love & Find Your Way Back.

I have my own theory for that. I am not from that time but i have heard that psychedelics were cool and common in that time among the musicians. Maybe that the frequent tripping experiences just had them tuned excellently into the vibe of a common man's sweetspot taste for music.

When Hubby and I got married (1987) this song had just started to get radio play. We were just about a month from our wedding day, and I heard it on the radio one afternoon and yelled "THIS IS OUR SONG!" and Hubby joyfully agreed. I had to buy the 45 record (🤭😂) to get it played at our reception. When guests heard it at the reception, they all said "Man, that sounds like Grace Slick!" and Hubby played along, like, "Oh Yeah, my wife knows Grace Slick, she did it for our wedding, etc."😂 Needless to say, they all bought it - Cuz We All was HAMMERED!🤣😋🤪🥴 One of my fave wedding memories!😁

My little brother died suddenly in 1985. He was eleven and I was fifteen. I blanked the Eighties from my mind for many years as it was too upsetting to return to that time. Its only in recent years that I find I can look back fondly at my youth. This song makes me smile.

It's 1984, It was late autumn, not to cool just enough chill to make breathing a pleasure. My girlfriend got a job at O'Hare airport on 2nd shift. I'd go and meet her for break and we'd lay on the hood of my car together watching the jets take off. She rolled closer and leaned her head on one arm staring deeply in my eyes as Christopher Cross's 1979 debut played from inside my tape deck. Almost 40 years later we are still together and I still own the car...

If I get married my song would be a tie between this is the one and "Bryan Adams' "Everything I do". If my boyfriend and I do get married, the first one fits because of people thinking we won't last and that we're crazy for getting together "too early", according to them. And also because I know we'll have ups and downs, given our past. But we support and understand each other. He kept having these intrusive thoughts like "if this doesn't work", or "if your mom tries to break us up". Last night, I took some quotes from the song and sent it to him, and I told him it doesn't matter what people say, and not to worry, as long as we're honest and true to each other. Adam's song is also a perfect wedding song because it illustrates the love and sacrifice people should have for each other.

I often think that it must have been such a wonderful time to be alive for so many people, seeing so much history unfold before their eyes. My mother and father were in their 20's and they were living here in Brisbane when World Expo '88 was on (they still are, in fact, just in a different house to the one they were living in back then). Much of the city's infrastructure opened in time for the event, such as the Cultural Centre and the existing airport. @@davidd1492 All true. I totally agree that music has been loosing it's soul and meaning since the onset of the 90's, though there has been the odd track since then that has, for me given a glimmer of hope, but 80% of modern music (If you can call it music) is just repetative nonsense lyrics laid over a melody that was written by a true musician back in the 70/80's and sold as brand new music. Yes Bart, we had a magical time. Being in my 30s that decade was beautiful.

Its nice to see someone that was an adult in the 80s comment about their experience. Its easy to say an era was magical when you are a kid. When you are a kid, you are care free so there is a bias to the time you grew up in since you weren't adult experiencing the struggles of that time. Thank you for your comment. Its refrefreshing to hear it from your age group

+Armando Perez yesssss and good for her for surviving and living life to the fullest , a lot of musicians usually die too young from excessive drugs/alcohol... surprised she aged so well with all the drugs being passed around in the 60's, along with her alcohol addiction. definitely my favorite singer, I have her autograph sitting on my desk.

+Moot I saw an interview where she said she was at the White House during President Nixon's (R.I.P.) time in office. She was going to drop some LSD she had in her pinky nail into his drink but staff before she could, staff recognized her and escorted her out. Lol.

It was so optimistic despite high interest rates, deregulation and the fall of the soviet union. It's an anachronism probably drawing on decades of music. The 2000's suck.

I literally feel like I'm about to shed tears. This song just takes me back to great times and memories growing up in the 80s. I always say my generation (gen x) was the last to really experience great music, movies and etc. Fun and simple childhood. 80s music was the best across the board! Rock, r&b, pop and all genres was great and we enjoyed all of it. Lol anyway such a great song.❤

i get like that when i see a band live & hear an old song they sing that i loved or listen to great songs loud. I get a lump in my throat and then feel silly thinking why do i want to cry when hearing the songs. Glad im not alone.

Heck yeah, like never forget. So much stuff going on , ( 80’s were a very interesting time with crazy stuff on the news every night ) some stuff you just don’t forget. CBS News with Dan Rather was almost always a thing after or during dinner. Everybody was at the kitchen table enjoying it and relaxing with family. Hardly anyone does that anymore .
