Starship Simulator - Official Game Overview

Join developer Dan Govier at Fleetyard Studios for a deep dive into Starship Simulator, an upcoming sci-fi space exploration sandbox game set 200 years from today. Wow! The organic designs and rounded and curved everything is really nice. The level of attention to detail is great. A little mocap and optimization to run smooth and fast is gonna take this one to the next level. Definitely will be keeping an eye on this development.

This is why I'm excited for what increased AI can do to game development. Procedural generation should become much, much smarter, bigger and more creative. There's no reason why, eventually, whole cities with things to do couldn't be generated.

I'm waiting for hydroponics and life supprt systems. Accelerating huge mass to star speeds requires huge energy, which cannot be collected as portable ionic or atomic store. Only option is a hyperspace jump.

It might need a lot of work Art side, I'm talking environment with proper materials, props, proper lighting that won't look completely flat (and no completely dark albedo's or too light ones), polish on the camera to get a soft delay on following the player making the steps on the ship etc!
