I purchased this on xbox and wow there are so many issues with this game, there are two graphics modes, performance and fidelity, if playing in fidelity the game kept crashing out mid game. I hate that you loose all XP if booted from game, you spend a good 40mins doing a horde map and right near the end back to dashboard and everything that game lost. the companies is stupid, I can create a company, but can't invite people into it, they have to just hope that the company appears on the list at some point, they can't even search for it. but even though there are many issues I like the game, the matches are intense and fun and most of the time the other players do help, and try to pick you up, i'm just hoping that the developers start to fix the game and try to improve, but as its already been out on PC for sometime and this is how it's released i've got a feeling of dread that they wont.

Game is really fun and does a great job capturing the vibe of the original movie. That being said, one complaint I have is Horde Mode takes waaaaaaaaaay too long, an ideal length would be 5 rounds or just allowing someone to specify the amount of rounds. It also feels like you run out of ammo for your single main weapon fairly quickly, especially in Horde Mode. Im playing the tank class that has the increased ammo perk, and I still run out pretty quickly.

You are supposed to ask people with Ammo Utility Boxes or Engineers to get you an Ammo Crate* at your desired defensive position as the Guardian.

Got this game! No regrets, best experience ever. There's some obvious problems with it that can and most likely will be addressed in the coming months. People forget that this games team is small, and honestly whwt we got for a staff that size is impressive as is.

I'm Glad you are having fun. I also did the first time I played, over a year ago when it came out in early access. But be warned because there are others that bought it like me in early access, that are disappointed at the progress. That's it. And you can confirm that on my other videos because I basically reviewed every update and the progress of the game in development until now.

@@TheOnlySillySocks but they also covered everything that was on the roadmap until now, they even confirmed in their discord server that they are working on short term goals before moving onto the long term ones. Sometimes it's not as simple as they won't, but more that they couldn't. All I'm saying is have a little faith.

And what I'm saying is there is a difference between early access, and release. Once a product is released, that's it, that's the product. Just because they can update it in the future, does not change the fact it's no longer early access. And as is, as a commercial final released product, it's not that great, imo. I get new people find it entertaining. Let's see in 14 months. Over 90% of players that bought in early access like me, are not coming back for now... And that should tell you something.

I bought in on PC in EA when it first went for play, had a lot of fun until people started to purposely team killing and purposely sabotaging the bases They'd deconstruct the base and then exit the game leaving it so the bug would over run us. It got so tiresome how badly all these griefers would come in telling us to go play HD2 instead and not this 'rip off' game apparently not knowing SST came before HD. I haven't played in ages because the griefing was just so disgusting.

Will be funny if they pull out a cyberpunk move and later it becomes amazing. It all depends on the devs. I would love to see Casper doing that stuff mentioned here though but I think the devs were focused on fixes and platform exposure. It costs money to do these things. Money just doesn't magically appear for it. Especially when it's not sponsored by a megacorp like Heldivers was. I think. Once the core issues in the programming are fixed, they likely will get in on some of these mentioned features.

I called this game the best early access game I had ever seen in the review I did for it over a year ago. I was there. I said the same things new players are saying now. Casper did promos, twitch streams, loads of promotional stuff for the game. Not taking advantage of that time to make stuff for the game was a waste imo. They did have his time and attention, but squandered it on streams and a tutorial.

The double bodies is actually an feature of the permeant bodies The client side ragdoll enemy you just kill gets replaced by another body that now is permanent, while the client side ragdoll gets deleted Sometimes the transition is smooth, sometimes not so much

Hard mode with mutators is where the game shines for me. Does an excellent job at making you feel like just a statistic on the battlefield. Far from perfect, definitely not worth $50. But man if I don't enjoy a game where I can zone out for a bit and just slaughter bugs.

It depends on the game. If you play Squad, OWI's most successfull game, Everyone talks, 99% of people are not toxic at all and help out new players. Their games have all been like this. They have a great community in their games, except this one. I personally blame the ping system, that their others games do not have. since there are no ping for enemies or anything, you have to call everything out in game. I'm sad you never found a good game community, but for OWI, they are very good to catering to more mature players who tend to be nicer than 12 year old squeakers xD

If it wasn’t for the crashing and losing all your XP this game would be even more fun than it already is.. and I’m not even a fan of horde/zombie games… my biggest complaint is being 20 minutes into a mission and as soon as I get on the drop ship to leave it dashboards me.. very big problem that needs fixing.. at least make it so that XP is saved

Ok so the biggest issue is pricing for what you get BUT what you don’t address is the price for the overseas market for instance this game in New Zealand is…drum roll… $83.90 NZD does anyone care outside of there own country who reviews games nope never mentioned I care cos every game costs a fricking fortune

I love the game but I have to admit it Galactic War is a dissapointment I had also invisioned it with Johnny Rico as the voice of the federation telling you to get out there and kill some bugs, also with loads of those wacky federation propaganda video adds but instead we get Johnny Rico in a boring tutorial. Also when I saw that the Galactic War is locked behind clans I was bewildered like you and thought the exact same thing. WTF! In their live streams they went on and on about it, how awesome it is and how they can't wait to get it out. Meanwhile it's a bit of a wet fart! I really hope they strip it down and rework Galactic War and sort out the many issues for the game in the next major update, I really want this game to succeed.

Been playing since release. It is buggy at times (no pun intended) but its tons of fun, and the roadmap looks promising. The only way this game succeeds is if we do our part and support the price! Its a small dev team of 15 people

Same feellings here. I just cant understand why OWI and its crew were always so freaking obedient to such an small group of players from discord. Paying 50 bucks for this seems highly overpriced. I had over 500h on EA and it´s been painfull to see update after update how they devs keep killing the game. Its core gameplay is easily one of the best co-op games you can play in terms of fun and mayhem, completely wasted game. Wait for sales to get it, is pretty unoptimized yet for a 50bucks game.

I appreciate the honest review, the biggest killer is the progression/story being linear it seems and nobody talking. Especially at $50, at most this game is $40 at the time tbh. The game is fun. I enjoy playing it and even the little bugs give the game a character on its own. I wouldn't spend $50 on it though. the game still feels like EA. there are a TON of bugs and glitches that have yet to be fixed. the game was "better" before they went to Unreal 5. when they did that change is when a LOT of the issues of the game came up. I stopped playing for a while because the server lag and game ran so bad. I knew it wasn't my hardware because It ran fine for so long then they did a update and everything rubber banded around. Discord groups can be fun but OMG most of them are Milsim groups that like to pretend they are in the military and talk down to people. I have been in several groups and they are all just a mess. You are better off finding some friends or people you vibe with in the game and just play with them. Idk game is pretty fun even with all its little quirks, bugs and what not. the one thing i want changed... is the Voice actor lady that sounds like a evil grandma scolding kids. Her voice is so annoying. "Troopers, reinforcements are running out. better get the mission done on the bounce." and then idk why the main announcer lady always sounds angry and mad at the Mi. Voice actors could be better.

The worst thing they did was give everyone on PC early access while the game was being developed. Now everyone thinks there should be this dramatic change at the full release. I for one a super happy it came to PS5 and have been playing religiously with very few issues, a little serve jump here and there but nothing ruining my fun

I just got the game on PS5 n it's awesome I have a custom bass kicker vest I made with 4 transducer pucks and with it this game rocks non stop shooting got my best hammering my chest n back friggin awesome I get all worked up surprised there is poor haptic feedback on the controller there is some but not as much as there should be but still love the game my kicker vest makes it ridiculous insane awesome

Thanks for the review. Got a few requests to revisit this game and refresh some channel content but I think I’ll pass. The game is a fun shooter but it will always be plagued with the same issues, it’s fun until it’s boring. Player count will spike with updates and then quickly taper off because it’s missing mechanics to keep a player enticed, like what Helldivers 2 at least attempted, with the dynamic war and game master.

I am a beta player since launched of this game. It is the only game I played. It has its own issues but for the fun in this game is only one - to kill bugs or get overwhelmed. The movie is also the same direction. The game follows the same direction. The glitches are always there. I played Cyberpunk and there was way more bugs so I learn to be more forgiving with this game.

The no one speaking is natural. its in EVERY co-op game. Chivalry 2, Darktide, Lef4Dead, Nerfdivers, Space Marine 2, TF2.. All of these games have voice, yet very rarely do you actually hear people talk, much less put together actual strategies. I know you said you would not accept the argument, but that argument IS a valid one. You want communication, then you have to get a community together YOURSELF. If you join randoms, even if they're all from the same country against all odds, the chances of actually getting randoms to communicate is near 0. So yes, if you randomly queue as a solo player, you will be getting the solo player experience. Queue as a duo, you're probably already in a discord VC. The more people you have in your party, the better the communication will become. But better comms dont always guarantee victories. I did have matches where one or two folks took the lead and people followed their instructions. But because those instructions were horrible we still lost.

I sugest you try the other games OWI has made before. voice is mandatory and everyone uses it. That's qhy it's so disapointing, because it built their communities in the other games, people made friends and still do, and on this game, nothing. But I guess if you never played them you wouldn't know and mention games OWI didn't have a hand in making.

@@TheOnlySillySocks multiplayer game's a multiplayer game. Studio doesn't matter. In the end, voice comms is a luxury addition for lack of better words. It's nice to have but not a requirement. And again, if you personally have an issue with no voice comms happening, it's up to you to find people who want to communicate with you. You've got a few thousand subscribers, plenty to make a fairly simple community. Don't just wait for others to make changes you want to see. For me personally, it doesn't matter if there's voice comms or not. Not because it has no impact but because I'm incapable of using it even if I wanted to. And finally, at least on easy and normal ARC I always see the same groups form naturally even without comms; Builders, Gatherers and Escorts. Occasionally Scouts also show up but those are rarely present in non-comm lobbies. Do the bases look pretty? Absolutely not. But they are effective. And that's what matters in the end. But as is often the case, opinions of casual players who play this less than 5h a week are often brushed aside.
