I’m in certified nursing assistant and I was thinking about opening up my own agency or a franchise with a small investment. I work now as a housekeeping supervisor and I hate it. The pay is really shitty and I just I’m always working 24 seven. I’d much rather open up my own business and I love helping people. I was going to finish my nursing license but the pandemic put that on hold so I was thinking about transferring all of my credits and going into healthcare management by the end of the fall. Maybe when I’m finished with my healthcare management degree. I can go ahead and maybe think about opening up my own franchise or home healthcare agency on my own.

I worked as a home health aide, CNA, Support professional for group homes. And I thank God I saw your video before I started my Home Care Biz. As a babyboomer, I am looking for a easy way to make money. Although as a home care worker, it is easy to show empathy and compassion. The work is just like they are just another family member you taking care of.:)But I forgot about some clients. As they aged, their mind would wobble:) and they would lie on the workers and staff. And the thing about mentally unstable people, it is hard to convience them they are not correct. Also you deal with a lot of Elder laws. How in the world do people expect to be “hands off” when starting a business? I’m working around 120hours a week to get this going. And that’s just when I’m physically at a clients house. I wouldn’t even know where to start if I wasn’t constantly immersed in exactly what the day to day work looks like. I would have no idea what to do to give the best care services. Like at all. I realize new things everyday. I’m constantly intaking information from clients, families, and other caregivers.

I much rather work in home care than facility care. The pay however is so low. Home care aid is expected to have a car,car insurance on less than $ 14 an hour. Not like you're just going to one job location you're driving your clients around using your automobile for $14 an hour. Caregivers need to survive. It is impossible on that $14 wage. Please do not expect potential new employees to pay for a TB test, a physical exam and background check. That is expensive!!! The company should be responsible for that cost if required for employment. Be honest with job advertisement 30 hours is not full time. 40.plus is full time. Isn't it very expensive having a revolving door for staff constantly hiring ? It i's because of the wage!!! We don't want a coffee mug or pizza party even forgo the sign on bonus just pay a decent living wage!!! Honestly I show up on time and rarely ever call off all my references will say so. Experienced care givers end up working in facilities because it pays much better offers very affordable good health insurance. The staff is who goes out and earns the company money.
