Such great tips! You also seem like such a sweet and smart woman, I’ve just had my first baby and am having trouble trusting other people with her now that I’m going back to work (part of why I’m considering starting an in home daycare). Make sure you have daycare insurance as your home policy does not cover your business and you can loose all you own if an accident occurs. Have a daily curriculum as patents expect you to be teaching their child to be prepared for school. No spanking or using harsh words to a child as this is illegal and harmful to them. My big one. Don’t get involved in State run programs. I was on the subsidy program. The State pays you to take low income families. There are a lot of strings attached and a ton of paperwork and rules to these. Also the grants you earn you have to give it back when you close. Remember nothing from State is free.

Omg do you do consulting? I need help! I have a directors license. I live in DFW area I’m a Montessori teacher and I really want to set up in my home. I have a back house with 2 bedrooms and a living space with a bathroom. Our renter is leaving and I want to open an at home Montessori. I’m so terrified of licensing I want to set up correctly.
