I use powered speakers and if youre using passive speakers you may need an amp. Thank you for your kind words.

You are great at explaining everything! Thank you! Just one question: what are your speaker volume levels? My set up is almost exactly like yours. But I keep getting feedback. My speaker levels are at around noon to 2 o'clock if you are looking at the dials. Thanks!

I appreciate the very kind words and you posted a great question. I raised the main mixer volume to unity and depending how far you are from the speakers will determine how much juice you should give your mic channel volume to avoid feedback. After raising the main mixer volume to unity try raising your gain on the mic channel to unity as well and then the fader or knob volume on that same channel is what I would conservatively raise lastly and see how far I can push it before I get feedback. So happy we have similar setups that’s awesome! Just play around with the distance from speakers and the 3 volume / gain controls. Happy singing 😊.

I wanted to add that I set my speaker volume at 12nn as well and then work the soundboard until I find the sweet spot and optimal sound. Enjoy and keep singing!

ok I need help understanding how to line up all my different controls. I have volume controls and echo effect on my wireless mics, then I got gain, volume, and 3 band eq on the mixer, then I have gain, volume and 2 band eq on my PA speaker. Where should the mics and the PA be set so that i can have the best and full control at the mixer? FYI - This setup is only used for karake with my karafun subscription (so I guess that's more volume controls to factor in).

Thank you Nitro for the awesome question and I personally would start with keeping my speakers 2 band eq at flat and turn it up to the level you are comfortable with (I personally turn mine to 3 o’clock but this is up to you, next I would keep my eq flat and turn up my gain or volume control on the mixer to a level that doesn’t produce too much hiss on your speakers and finally I would put the gain settings on the mic at unity because you still have volume control in addition to your gain, this is your chance to turn the volume control up on your mic to a level that will not cause feedback and is loud enough depending on the size of your room. For me also this is a fun balancing act to avoid feedback and to get awesome vocal reproduction out of the speakers. Keep singing and I hope this helps 👍.

Thank you for this. May I ask why you split the signal that was going into the speaker? You could not connect the master out to both inputs on speakers? Why only one input and not stereo? Thank you

Great question Super dad and the reason I combine it is because my personal preference is mono where I daisy one speaker off of the other but you can definitely run it stereo. The bit abiout DJing and Karaoke at the same time was not clear - You only have (and need) one 3.5mm output connected so how does the Channel 1 / Channel 2 come into play?

Hi Mike I appreciate your feedback and request for more info. Awesome question and when you give it a try here is the process if you are a DJ: 1. Connect your Serato mixer or the DJ mixer of your choice USB cable to your laptop and then connect your XLR out cables from your DJ mixer to your soundboard (I personally connect my DJ mixer to channel 1). If you are using serato you will need to launch the DJ software so you can swap between your DJ software and karaoke software or karaoke played directly from KZbin . 2. Connect the USB sound adapter to the same computer and connect your 3.5 inch jack into the headphone jack of the sound adapter. Type of cable you’ll need is a 3.5” to 1/4. Connect the 1/4 jack into channel 2 for your karaoke which you can access from KZbin or a karaoke software you have installed on your computer. 3. Channel 3 can be used for your mic and all other channels can be used for extra mics or other devices. The purpose of this info is to save money for my fellow DJs using one computer compared to the two that I used to use. Hope this helps and have an amazing time when you perform. Depending on the kind of external connection, it can be a projector (my personal favorite) or another screen which I have done for smaller events. Check the type of output (hdmi, vga, etc.) have an amazing karaoke party!

Hi Mike, awesome question and yes I believe that this effects out will add echo when you connect it to your component and raise the effects level/volume but for my case I used it as a monitor. If you have a better mixer than this one you will for sure have a dedicated FX output. Have a great time karaokying (not a real word hhehehe) and setting up your system.

Thanks for the awesome question! The best thing to do is connect a usb sound card which will be used for the karaoke setup. Next connect 3.5mm to xlr cable from sound card to sound board or directly into your serato mixer input channel that’s available and if you are using a apple I believe it’s thunder connection for external video unless you already have a hdmi connection out. If you are using a pc laptop can use the hdmi or vga out if available to an external screen or projector like I personally use. When I offer karaoke I just toggle between my djing sets using serato and then google chrome to access KZbin for the karaoke songs. Hope this helps and if you have any further questions let me know. @@Breaking_Your_Barriers I am using a sound board mixer and I will be connecting my DJ mixer which is a numark scratch and turntables also i will be using serato DJ pro soft ware I have a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch cable I just ordered the headphone adapter usb can I run the headphone usb to the TV and connect that to the sound board mixer or run it to my MacBook?

Hi Mario, I would recommend connecting your 3.5 adapter directly to the computer headphone output or the USB sound adapter headphone output because if you connect it directly to the TV you wont get an audio signal. I would connect the 3.5mm from the computer to an available channel on your sound board mixer. Hope this helps and definitely share your win when you test it. Have an amazing weekend!
