Diane and I went to high school together. I can attest first hand her drive, motivation, and spirit. I don’t know that I will ever start a channel - I have one but it’s more for private and family stuff rather than a commercial endeavor - but I watch these videos anyway in case I get the sudden urge. Diane still holds the school record for the women’s shotput by the way. 😀

I was not sure about what to talk about on my channel until I got sick and then watched this video. Great video as usual and very timely since I just finished all the research for a video on the names of the different generations. I'd have to differ with you on the best music. I'm voting for end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s. I'm from The Silent Generation - didn't even know the generation I came at the end in 1944 had a name, but I relate to most of what you said in this video - except for the music, of course. And like you, I get 99.9% complimentary comments, but those few that aren't really hit me where it hurts. I'm developing a thicker skin though. I just wish Adsense would approve me. I've got the right numbers and I think my videos are good quality, but I've been rejected five times. After researching the Step 2 problem, I find I'm not alone, but no one has a real solution. But watching videos like your keep me motivated. Thanks.

Yes. A Commodore 64 was my first computer and all I managed to program were some animated balloons I think. We had a funk n wagnalls encyclopedia. Do kids nowadays know how to write in cursive? And I learned Forkner shorthand in highschool. Our typing teacher would come around with a ruler and rap people on the knuckles if fingers rested on the keyboard -- can't hit or hug students these days. I can't tell you how happy I am to be GenX. SO many things have changed since I was a child. I did find myself recently wondering what do libraries use for a "card catalog" now? We have so many things that we could talk about. When I think about eventually posting videos on my channel, I think I don't want to monetize. Ads annoy me, so I don't want to annoy other people. Yeah, Jen's right. With a certain amount of subscribers, they'll have ads on them regardless.

I'm gonna give it a try. Should be Fun. Ordered a Camera and microphone. There will be a learning curve, but I'm thinking it will probably also be an exciting adventure. Over 60 and going-for-it! :) I'm hoping that the moving it or uploading part wont be hard to do. I figure if I can A) get the video out of the Camera and into my laptop with the editing software, and then B) be able to get it uploaded to KZbin, then things will be easier. Then, its a matter of getting much better at editing and having good content.

That's great! I just use my iphone to record and to edit. But you gotta do what works for you!

I think its not really being shy in front of the cameras. I think it's the safety issues as well.

I was born in 1963 and back in the day we were not called Baby Boomers. As the years have rolled by they put us into it instead of the cut off at 1960. I remember that term being mentioned when I was in middle school (junior high) and I thought it was so funny at the time. Now not so much! LOL But we sure do know how to get through rough times better than the current youths do.

The last time I checked, KZbin counts all comments as engagement just the same, even if you moderate your comments and you never let those comments get posted. I fully plan to moderate all of my comments and literally only post comments that I think will be useful to other viewers. While I will appreciate all the comments that simply say, "Nice video." My other viewers don't need to see all those. I want it to be as easy as possible for other viewers to scroll down in the comments and see if someone had the same question that they had and if it was already answered.

I was born in the latter half of ‘64 and I most def identify as Gen X. The Boomers were the older brothers and sisters of my friends. I had a younger brother who was my best buddy and playmate. I cannot relate to Boomers. They were my older cousins in whose weddings I was always the flower girl. 😂😂 I’m a total 80s girls. I think the powers that be should include 63/64 in the Xer category. I know, it really doesn’t matter lol 🤪

We’ll be happy to give you a special pass to be a gen x’er 🙂

✋😊 Hi Diane! Baby Boomer here... But I fit into both generations. 80s music & MTV? OMG! But yes, GenX is like a middle child! FYI ... I saw this video yesterday about the trend of older creators. Your followers are so fortunate to have you guiding them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXjYq3yJeZKclcU ❤

Same! I just started hearing about Generation Jones. I've always felt like I was in between and I like it.

I'm never gonna back down about 80's music being the best :)
@TheSeniorTuberCommunityАй бұрын
@DianeMoore I'm from the '70s so that music was really good too but the '80s were so much fun. And like I said probably because of MTV and you got to see everybody. That's when I had the most parties at my house and the background music was amazing.

Everything you mentioned in this video is a problem that I have. It’s so hard for me to get past my worries and struggles. I have everything that I need for the set up, but I’m a huge chicken about starting. I’m 52 and have a wealth of knowledge to share lolbut don’t know how to get it out.
