IF people are listening, I think the photo industry is going to get so interesting in the next few years. The business hasn't changed but channels like this and Tin House Studios are opening up the gates that seemed so guarded. More people are starting to understand what photography can really be. Reminds me of the older guys when print was in its prime. But that's IF people are really listening to the people that's in the industry. Great channel!

I'm rebuilding my portfolio after a decade. I'm making all of the same choices you address in this video. It was nice to hear it, and not just subliminally think it. It's also helped my prune down a little from "commercially non-viable" to "commercially viable". It matters. I once went into an interview at WWE wrestling and they asked if I knew which image got me the interview. I had no idea. He said it was the one that I was going to remove before applying because I didn't like it. So while you never know, thinking like a buyer will help you make those hard calls. Too much of our art is personally driven because we know the story behind the shot, not what the paying customers are really looking for.

well said! Another commenter quoted Bambi Cantrell recently with "beauty is in the eye of ... the checkbook holder."
