Correction: I mentioned Propiconazole as a Group 5 fungicide. I misspoke. It’s actually a Group 3! Sorry for the error there.

Very informative and straight forward. Thank you for not wasting time on unnecessary information!

Great in depth video! I’m in Maryland and my first year of lawn care and have used the RGS. Also have Hydretain in stock for use later in the month. Excited to see the progress by the end of the season.

Good info on water being #1. By the way Propiconazole is actually a Group 3 Fungicide.

I am running the annew growth regulator on one of my yards that burns up in the sun every year in hopes of building more roots. No way you can water it enough. I guess I will see the results if any soon. Also running it to suppress POA triv on another yard. It does darken the color of the triv and that is good but I never get to mow any more so the yards dont look as good as I like.

I just added Double Dark , Phusion KMS 0/0/12 with 15% calcium& 6% Sulfer

Great info! Not bashing Hydretain, but for what it costs buy a good sprinkler and use the rest of the $ towards your water bill.
@MrFergusonLawn7 ай бұрын
I think I would agree with that as well.

Sea-K is a product I've wanted to try for some time now. Heard great things about how it helps roots to grow deep. Great vid!

Love the channel and have been watching for sometime now. Just seeded new seed about 3.5 weeks ago and I live in the transitional zone 9b. We have hot dry summers. Would you recommend slow release low doses of nitrogen for baby grass or faster release for now until the heat really comes in? Also, I'm lower in Potassium and Phosphorus. My PH is 7.8. Thank you God bless.
@MrFergusonLawn7 ай бұрын
Hey Stephen, your ph should be priority right now! You want that below 7, and ideally 6.1 - 6.5. I would work on that for sure. Secondly, you can do higher N now for the grass to help it grow roots and shoots, and then just slack off as temps seem to get into 80s and higher. That said, def work on your ph! Here is JG Mag-i-cal plus if interested: shrsl.com/4hx5s

@@MrFergusonLawn Ok, sounds good. Adding Sea-k and fungicide for new baby grass. Not sure if that's too much all at once for the grass. It's 2.5-3" tall.

By the way, I seeded tall fescue.

I disagree about TTTF likes being tall. Most newer cultivars might as well take the Tall out of TTTF. Most of the companies that sell the seed recommend 2-3 inches for their TTTF cultivars. Obviously you can lower to about 1 inch but will require significant maintenance. I know you like GCI Turf so look at the cultivars in it. He now now uses MVS cultivars and the spec sheet for each of those cultivars recommend 2-3 inch HOC. I get your point though that the HOC should increase in the summer.
@MrFergusonLawn7 ай бұрын
No that's a great point. That's why I like hearing from you all in the comments. Things change, and so will the info. I've not heard this, so something else to look into and adjust fire.
@NyTonyF7 ай бұрын
I’ve seen GCI TTTT at 1 inch and it looks amazing.
@btu911117 ай бұрын
Real tall fescue will hold back bermuda and all but then you are asking for fungus so how do you win? I hit a compromise and mow at 3 inches .
