Stan saved my life with the 10 minute walk. Went from a diabetic and taking metformin to taking nothing at all. It took a while for My doctor to believe me. Been doing it for 4 years now.

I go with Stan from back in 90’s and forward, when I saw him for the first time on a MD cover and inside ( a whole article on him) when he decided to prep for a BB contest too : I was shocked, the RHINO was insane! Houses of weights and grinding like few in the whole game! LUV HIM FROM DAY ONE, a landmark forever.👏🏻👏🏻🌟👊🏻

Stan is right about how full ROM stimulates growth. I can flat bench 120 but nothing grew my chest better than 45s with full ROM, arched back, and expanded rip cage.

61, recently retired, I was jacked at 25 but life and work left me out of shape by 60. I still did 100 push-ups a day, walked a few miles, etc, but now back in the gym. Studying Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates and Arthur Jones HIT routines and after 6 weeks I really like it so far. Seems to keep me from getting injured, I get stronger every trip into the gym, and it limits my time in the gym that allows me to enjoy life. I’m traveling and currently living in Nicaragua and going to a gym with old 1980s equipment but everything is maintained and works. I’ve dropped 35 pounds in 5 months here. I’m Vegan, live on fresh fruits, veggies, beans, lentils, tofu, and don’t have a car so walk everywhere. I am hoping to drop another 20 AND add some muscle to be a jacked old man. My wife is my spotter and does a good job helping me get to failure on my sets. I am doing Chest/Shoulders/Triceps….then 2 days off. Legs/back/biceps… 2 days off. By the time it is gym day I can’t wait to get in there ! To get in every body part twice a week I would have to do full body and so far by the time my current workout is done I am exhausted. Maybe in another month or two I will be able to do it.

Stan is great. I wonder if doing all these sets and still experiencing growth is the result of PEDs healing and muscle sparing capabilities. If you train with maximum effort, how could you possibly do 10 reps and then repeat the lift and get 10 again? If you can do 10 again, why would you do it? You should have done 12-15 the first time maybe. It seems as though we are holding back to allow ourselves to do more sets which theoretically makes no sense. I don't know. I think Mentzer had some good ideas. Not sure a person is able to handle or wants to perform at the level required to do lifts with maximum intensity .
@mikew6135
@mikew6135 Жыл бұрын
You tried Dorians program and felt wasted. YES! You were on the right track. Just increase your rest days. Why do all those sets and still feel good yet you do less sets and feel exhausted. Maximum effort! Just eat and rest more.
