I believe that in a multipart character, the radical is the piece to the left (usually; sometimes it’s top or bottom) and its purpose is not so much to give meaning, but to be used as a classifier in a Chinese dictionary. It often gives an indication as to the meaning, but many times it’s another piece that suggests the meaning.

Good video for advanced students who can translate Chris's spoken words into pinyin but I find it easier(as an advanced beginner) to learn characters and examples with the pinyin alongside. My listening/translating skills are not advanced yet so it makes learning much easier when the pinyin is shown. Thanks for a good video though!

Every Chinese character has its own order for you to write. It is very import that you write a Chinese character in a correct order because once you are able to write Chinese sentences. even essay, writing in a right order would help you write fast( with efficiency). 每个汉字都有它自己的笔画书写顺序，当你熟悉每个字的书写方式，那么写汉语句子会变得很容易。

Why use a type script to teach how to hand write Chinese characters? It's like having children copying Times New Roman when they are 5 years old and learning how to write. Surely a handwritten style would have been more appropriate.

there's one thing wrong: 好 does not mean a woman with a child. becasue 好 consists of 女 and 子, respectively means daughter and son, AKA people who both has a daughter and a son is good (happy), and it aslo is a slang or culture :)
