I know big nasties are part of the inshore species complex, but if you treat it like an inshore fish with inshore setup, you’re gonna get your ass handed ahahahah

Awesome video Thonny you got to stop horse them bad boys.

Hey Thonny, @7:40 your hook looks a little bent out. You need to use Owner Hooks. I think you know this. Definitely for that size fish.
@InshoreElite3 ай бұрын
If you like owner you’ll love the ones I’m in the testing phase of. They are similar to the aki twist.

Gandy and Courtney Campbell are loaded with big black drum. Even more in the fall and winter seasons. Half a blue crab is the favored bait. Once in a while you might catch a big bull redfish or a keep grouper. My biggest black drum was 38 lb weighted at Gandy Bait & Tackle a zillion years ago.

A big nasty is one of the few things I haven't managed to catch inshore in Sarasota. Born and raised, I just can't seem to find the spot down here. Nokomis beach though...300lb Goliath in the intercoastal on a half blue crab 😂😂

@@chris6054 Try a bridge in Port Charlotte bay, there should be black drum there.

That was some great fishing, but catching the crab by hand is what warranted the like. ;) Keep up the great work, I am already looking forward to your next video.

We use 80 or 100 mono on tarpon rods with 65 braid. Sometimes I double the braid. We have our own brand of hooks that are very similar to the owner aki twist. It’s a special hook. Super sharp with a special tip. It sticks them really well. They are currently in testing phase before we get them out into market. Y’all were def on them better than us. Every time we hooked up y’all tripled 😂.

Send some hooks my way when you get them! I’d like to test them out

Bro, you shouldve brought your 8k or 10k saragosa on the terez rod. I know you are trying sell them combos but those rods and reels are way underguned for this type of close combat. I think a medium conventional setup would be perfect.

Which gopro do you use and what is the settings?
@Thonny3 ай бұрын
I use GoPro hero 11 black! Filming in 25fp double the frame rate so the shutter speed needs to be 1/50th. Also, you’re gonna need an ND16 for that and keep the iso between 100-400 max! I’ll have to do a video on my GoPro set up for filming one of these days. Hope that helps to get crisp footage
