I am 4 days in on my locs. I choose to do it because I hate to comb my hair and thought this was the best option for me. I have been looking at a lot of videos to see how other people take care of their locs. Like the produces they used, to how long you waited for your first wash, and how long they waited to retwist. I am excited for the process but nervous too. Im nervous because my scalp is sometimes dry and flaky and I constantly have to wash it. With locs I know I cant do that.

Girl that marley bun is a life saver. It's definitely my go to style. Sometimes I put my locs in loose braids and put my clip ins on with a headband.

Thanks for the clip in tip! I have a bunch of clip ins, I’ll have to try that out!

I’ve been watching videos and doing research on loc’ing hair with two strand twists since June and now I’m finally deciding that I’m ready to loc my hair! I’m doing my locs on December 30th! Your videos from beginning to now have been so helpful! Excited to try the barrel twist!

I know this is late, but locking gel, and/or wear a head cover in shower and at night. Don't touch them a lot. 👍

I don't think the length really matters... If your growing out you're hair, it's short and you want to loc just do it. Whether you do it this year or the next you still have to go through the same process. If you wanted locs that bad not having "cuter styles" won't be an issue because it's hair and it grows but you have to start somewhere.

I hear where you're coming from. Theres definitely aspects of the journey that you'll have to embrace regardless of what length you start. I don't think length should be the ultimate deciding factor, but it is something to consider. Especially for people who enjoy styling their hair such as myself. Im pretty sure if I started with a twa I would be covering my locs with wigs way more often. I think it boils down to preference and what the person is comfortable with because at the end of the day its a personal journey. Thanks for your input & thanks for watching ♥️.
