The video was extremely useful. It gives you confidence watching someone who does not look like a bike tech assembling the M3i. On the Pedals step it appears that she sprayed the rust inhibitor on the screw in part of the pedal rather than the left bottom bracket. It would also be wonderful if your team could sync up the video with the Assembly manual. Keep up the good work.

I was going to make the same comment about the pedal crank arm getting sprayed instead of the left side bottom bracket bearing. Good catch!

Mine arrived yesterday. It took me about an hour and a half to assemble it. But, I took my time. Liked that it was double boxed to help prevent any damage. The instruction booklet is very well done. I didn't know that this bike was "Made in the USA". NICE!!! Now I know why the ones that I've used in the past felt super sturdy. Glad to have made this purchase. I already see that people left suggestions about adding to the video the folded paper between the magnets. I purchased a new master mechanic tool set prior to this (I was spoiling myself). Glad it all arrived prior to the bike arriving. The assembly went very very smoothly.

Is the resistance strong enough to easily reach your maximum heart rate above 170 and get you completely out of breath? Do you think its strong enough resistance to challenge virtually anyone even with very strong legs?
@davidb1975a
@davidb1975a Жыл бұрын
@Brandon Yes, if you are good at creating a good spin routine. These are used in spin studios. To answer your other question, the resistance is magnetic. If you put it at max resistance, then it's like putting the brakes on. I typically start at resistance level 8 or 10. Anything between 1 and 7 tends to be too easy for me.

The video says that the 4 inch extension should be used to install the pedals but the manual says to use six inch extension. This should be updated as everyone does not purchase the toolkit and could buy the wrong extension listening to the video.

This is what Made in America is all about. All the Chinese equipment I purchased never recommended using a torque wrench and proper torque is important, even on exercise bikes. Mine is on the way.

A cheap compromise would be to just include the crows feet with the supplied tools. I believe most people would have access to many of the other tools and supplying a $10 to $30 tool like a torque wrench probably isn't practical.

When setting up the base, before mounting the bike, use a flat edge and tape measure and measure the height of the static base foot across from the adjustable one. The adjustable one will not be the same height as the other when wound all the way in. To get mine to even height with the other required a couple of turns out. And the threads are loose so the adjuster wheel will turn quite easily when bumped when not on the floor so tape the wheel in place before then.

So far I'd say the video should mention putting paper between magnets before installing flywheel.

They should update the video. The way they’re packed now is much better. There are corrugated foam corners between the inner and out boxes at the bottom and top, as well as additional packing, wrapping and padding between the parts that are wrapped together with cling wrap.

Is the thread locking compound provided? Also, is spray wax needed? I saw it in the tool list

Thanks for your question! Yes, the 242 loctite comes packed with the pedals. Once a quarter, we recommend users wax cycles, specifically targeting sweat zones. The only misgiving I had of the assembly was the loctite on the pedals. Years of building road and mtb bikes and greasing the threads with hydrophobic grease that won't wash away and keep threads rust free. Why is loctite needed here when you have the reversed threads? Oh and I thought the 10mm holding the flywheel guard should of had a washer instead of biting into the soft aluminum.

The comments are real and you guys should listen. I’m in Canada. This bike cost me almost 3300 with some extras. I opened the box, no tools. I am not a guy that has a lot of tools in the house. This is not what I expected. The bike is solid but this needs to be fixed. Unreal. Either provide tools or have your guys install it for free.

We're about one-third of the way through and I'd say it's a fair amount more effort than the impression you get from the video. I'd recommend two people do it as it's sometimes helpful to have someone holding things up, finding small pieces or being able to cut something while the other person holds it. There is a huge amount of plastic wrap to hold things together or to cushion things and sometimes it can be easier if you have another person to help remove it. This thing, so far, is built like a tank. I also highly recommend a good boxcutter. It comes in a very sturdy box inside of another very sturdy box. There's some foam at the corners so that shipping intrusions are less likely to damage the bike. I think that most people who would buy one of these are already in pretty good shape but would recommend two people if you aren't used to lifting heavy things. I think that it's easier to assemble if you're taller for the part where you lift the upper part and place it on the lower part.

About one-half through. The directions on the video are in different order than the directions on the manual. I had a problem with one of the bolts and the torque wrench but I got it on with 40 (spec is 45). There's a bit of a gotcha on the flywheel guard mounting bracket in that you put the long bolt to connect them with the guard but you can't put the bolt with the washer onto the bottom frame if the washer is flush with the top of the bolt. You have to put the washer at the bottom of the bolt and then slide it in and then screw it in. The washer is threaded so it holds itself in place. So far, so good. Our approach is to work on it for ten or fifteen minutes and then take a break to do something else and then come back to it. So far, all of the required tools have been in the bag.

The LPS #3 is not included in the box of parts nor is it mentioned in the user manual. It appears to be something like WD-40 though I'm not really sure. Some clarification would be helpful but it looks optional at this point. We just need to get the pedals on and we're good to go (I hope).
@movdqa
@movdqa 4 жыл бұрын
We got the pedals on and it's up and running. There is a driver piece that might be better than using the 16mm crescent attachment for the torque wrench. It takes a bit of hand strength to apply 45 NM of pressure.

We did it over a period of three days and that seemed to be a good way to go as it provided lots of times to read the directions and go over the video. The bike is very nice and the amount of resistance it can generate is considerable. I have not gone for a ride on it yet as I need to figure out where we're going to place it. I have to move a few things out of the way so that it fits in our home gym area. It looks fantastic too.

You should be able to aquire these tools for $75 or less at a hardware store. $150 is criminal given the price of the bike.

It would help a lot to have a close-up of how to use the torque wrench to attach the bicycle to the base; that part went by way too fast for me to figure it out.
